We chose Barnett to replace a water heater based on comments from friends and the yelp reviews. Barnett did not live up to these recommendations and I am left less than satisfied. In the end, we paid $200 more that we should have had. While both installers seem more that capable craftsmen, the first installer (Aaron) gave bad advice. I do not know whether he does not understand whole house plumbing or was trying to sell use something we do not need. Our house has a recirculation system and the first installer assessed the recirculation pump as not working and advised we cap off the old one. Not knowing any better, we did as he advised. The time for the shower to heat up went from 10 seconds before the new water heater to over 2 minutes after the new water heater. This is California and we are in the middle of a drought. A competent professional plumber would have known it would do this and would have advised so, but the first installer did not. Further, unlike other professional repairmen (auto, hifi, ...) he took the pump and capped the pipe at the wall and did not show us the broken components and offer to return them to us. Not being satisfied with the installation, we called to get the pump back and have it put back in place. This took a lot of negotiation and cost us an additional $200, and we learned that Barnett has a policy of removing these pumps because they have been burned in the past by customers accusing them of breaking their pumps. This is no excuse to ruin my household plumping system. But this is not the only problem! After the installation of the new water heater, my wifes bathroom sink began to leak. The installer said that the pressure was higher. This made no sense, these are high quality Moen cartridge valves. I removed the valved yesterday and found a piece of packaging plastic in the valve. Removing the plastic stopped the leak. Where did the plastic come from? The only change was the new water heater. The old water heater had a blanket. The new water heater does not. I asked why and the first installer said they dont do that here in Livermore. But why did the old water heater have a blanket? How many extra tons of green house gases am I going to put into the atmosphere because the new water heater does not have a blanket. I will not use Barnett again. There is something strange here. The quality of the craftsmanship is high. But either their understanding of plumbing is lacking or they are trying to make work for themselves.

Yesterday, Sunday, we noticed a leak in our garage by the main shut off. I opened the wall and found a small leak coming from a ½ pipe connection. We turned our water off and Monday morning called Barnett Plumbing because of the great reviews and frequently seeing their trucks in my neighborhood, big mistake. When I spoke to them on the phone I asked about their rate structure and was told that it varies by the job, I figured it would still be within reason. They arrived a couple hours later and we were told that that it would cost $495 to do the repair. I felt violated. I knew this is a small job and the parts were cheap but we have two small children and need running water so I regrettingly agreed. The guy took an hour and a half lunch break then completed the job in 45 minutes to an hour. Yes they got the job done but I would never use this company again. They have no rate structure and just gouge you because you need the job done. The invoice does not even describe how they got to the price they came up with. Maybe their hourly rate is $475/hour and $20 for parts but if I had known that I would have called someone else. Stay away from this company.

Recently, I required a plumbing service due to sewer root clog----this problem is simply one of roots finding water and nutrients---natural as dirt---in dealing with this issue, I again called on my friends at Barnett Plumbing-----my history of experience with these folks goes back some years----they have solved the small problems rapidly and professionally----and, when a careless driver rammed his car into the front of my home--doing $40,000 in damage ----half of that destroying the entire water feeding system to the front of my home----I called on Barnett Plumbing----these professionals were not intimidated---they completely replaced and integrated a new water feeding and distribution system in the overall rebuild that is like new. In the recent visit, Barnett sent out Josh Shotwell, who, like all his colleagues, provided professional, prompt and complete solution to my drain root clog issue. I am indebted to Josh and to the Barnett company philosophy of timely professional solutions to the plumbing issues that all homeowners face. My thanks to Josh and Barnett for another job well done, Bob Woods

While having AC installed at my place, we ran into some plumbing related issues (pipes in the way). My AC contractor recommended and called Barnett Plumbing out. They came and gave a bid with an hour, and then Aaron came out the next day at the very early end of their time window, promptly fixed the issue with great cleanliness and professionalism. Was highly impressed with the work, customer service, and very fair price. I have added them to my list of companies in the area to use in the future.

Once again Barnett Plumbing has saved my butt! This company is awesome. I have used them on many occasions for various plumbing issues on my commercial building. The owner Phil personally answers the phone and his guys do great work. They are prompt, competent and charge a fair price. In this economy, its nice to know there are still ethical companies around that put the customer first. I would recommend them to anyone.

They seem to be little dishonest. On phone they said they will check and replace parts as needed but they ended up costing us $1700. Looks like instead of fixing they rather replace the whole water heater so they can charge extra for installation and sell the heater they have. Felt like we were taken advantage as we needed the heater installed and didnt had time to get a second opinion.

I highly recomend Barnett Plumbing. They show up on time, are super professional and will give you a fair quote. I had them do a major project fixing the main drain line on the house and repair in our master bathroom. The work was done super quick and they cleaned up as if they were never there. I could not recomend them more highly.

We have used Barnett several times for plumbing issues at our house. Their staff have consistently been timely, polite, respectful and professional. I cannot say enough good things about them. Vitaly and Lando recently repaired our water main and they did an excellent job!
