Im prompted to write my first review ever because I had such a HORRIBLE experience. I towed in my car to ACA Automotive because it was the closest. I should have steered clear... My key wouldnt go inside the ignition of my ford focus and needed to get the ignition lock replaced. Labor and parts came out to a little over $400. When I left my car at the shop, I was asked to leave my original key and my spare. When the car was fixed, I had my brother pick it up for me since they close the shop really early and I couldnt make it out by 5:30pm. Unbeknownst to my brother, the shop kept my spare key. When I called the shop the next day (this past Friday) asking what happened to my spare key (now used only for opening the door), I got the runaround from one of the guys from the shop. Instead of apologizing, he acted surprised that I would want my spare key back. I said, of course I want my key back, its mine. He went on to say that one of the mechanics had thrown it away but that he would have him look through the trash for it. Ive never spoken to a more condescending person. It was such a HORRIBLE interaction from him. He had a heavy, belittling and passive aggressive attitude. He should not deal with customers if he is incapable of handling his stress level. Poor, poor customer service. He said he would call me back once they found my key. I had a missed call on Friday and a voice message from him only asking that I return the phone call. I called on Monday and I didnt realize I was transferred to him so I proceeded to explain the entire situation. He cut me off and said that he called me Friday morning and left me a message saying he had found my key. (I absolutely DID NOT have a message from him saying that). He continued cutting me off and said that I could just go ahead and pick it up anytime. He was really on edge and ridiculously rude. I remember thinking when I walked into ACA Automotive how everyone looked to have their smiles plastered on. Unauthentic and borderline cartoonish. Their facade of friendliness snaps hard under pressure. In no moment did I accuse him of withholding my key, but for whatever reason, he was quick to be defensive and condescending. I should have gone straight to the Ford dealership where they gave me a quote for $500, which included the ignition cylinder, labor and TWO new keys. I would have gladly paid the $100 difference for a second key and excellent customer service. Im very disappointed that this shop is even AAA approved. Its misleading because AAA is such a great and serious company so the least you can expect from their associates is excellence at all time. Im getting in contact with AAA to share my experience and ask that they be more careful about which shops they approve. Poor customer service and overpricing should be the name of ACA Auto.

PERSONAL ITEMS IN CAR WERE STOLEN AT ACA Automitve. I already went down to talk to them and they said that there was a "break in" at the lot and that they didnt know how many cars were affected. You would think that they would notify all the owners that their cars may have been broken into hmm... Also their were more valuable items in the car than the items that were stolen hmm.... and the items stolen were unique, a leather bound journal with a metal clasp and a set of D20 dice used for tabletop games, why would a thief want those when there is a perfectly good radio? They are going to write me a check for the items but that is not enough restitution for what occurred. There was no concern over whether or not the items were stolen by an employee, in fact upon mentioning the possibility that an employee stole the items I was met with a laugh and a "I highly doubt that". The name of the guy who worked on my car is on the paperwork I have, and the employees who were working that day who came in contact with the car should be on record, why not just ask them if they know anything about it (which will most likely lead no where) and then file a report about the suspicious activity so that if this keeps happening they will be able to trace it to the person who is stealing. Its obvious that they know that it happens, and their willingness to write me a check so quickly just shows that they are trying to shut me up and get me out of there. If it were something like sunglasses or CDs then I would just take the money and go buy new ones, but the journal was my wifes and it is personal to her, it had drawings and stories and hours of thought poured into it and now its gone...try to put a dollar amount on that. The have lost my business, and considering that we have 2 cars that would have gotten serviced there regularly, an older hybrid that will need a new battery soon, a diesel truck with over 240,000 miles on it that will need some expensive maintenance in the near future, they just lost a lot of money because some idiot employee saw something he liked worth no more than $120 and its gonna now cost their business thousands in possible repairs. My advice to the company, put cameras in the garage to monitor the employees, keep logs on anyone who goes into the cars whether its to work on it or move it, and start taking customers claims of employee theft seriously.

Be very careful. Very careful. These people are crooks! Ive never been swindled and mislead until my wife brought her vehicle in for an inspection. Yes, we were recent customers and for the most part satisfied w/the service weve been given...until this last incident. One day, my wifes vehicle over-heated so we decided to take into ACA for an evaluation. We were told, it would take 6hrs to do a proper diagnosis then they would call?? Yeah, right. 8hrs later, we had to call back and guess what this idiot said? He said, that our head gaskette was blown and that the water gadge was broken..among that other issues that constituted to the problem a leaking water pump,etc..So, the grand question..how much would it cost? Over the phone, he said it would cost us for all of the repairs and labor..$2,400.00 out the door?? WTF!! Whoa! That cost repair is more than what the vehicle is worth...amazing! So, even though not doubting ACAs evaluation..we had to find a second opionion and find out what our options would be to get the vehicle in a working condition just to get by. So, by the Lords grace..we found a family friend mechanic who was able to fix our problem for less then $300 bucks. Upon his investigation, he found nothing wrong w/the head gasket and all else looked in good condition. The most disturbing discovery, was during his troubleshooting the timing belt snapped. What? I changed that when it flipped 100K miles..and it only has 135mi now. Apparently, the cable appeared to be altered as if somebody cut the cable intentionally. This absolutely angered me, so without me doing something really stupid...I wanted to be an adult about it and make others aware of these crooks. So, please..read this and just take it into consideration. I was very surprised by some of the reviews, and all I can do is pray for you and wish that what happened to us wont happen to you.
