They are good at fixing simple small issues (changing batter, rotating tires, replacing fluids), but are completely incompetant at fixing any larger issues. I also think that they run a racket of replacing non-broken parts in the car. They are a small business trying to stay alive. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE IF YOUR UNSURE OF THE PROBLEM, THEY WILL BLEED YOU DRY AND WILL MOST LIKELY NOT FIX IT. I went in when I had issues with my car not starting up so they replaced the battery. The issue happened again about a week later and they claimed no responsibility or no knowledge of how to fix. They later said that the spark plug need to be replaced. About a week later the same issue happened again. Once again they had no knowledge of why it was happening or how to fix. They then replaced several sensors and components in the system. About a week later the same issue happened again. By this point I had invested about $2000 in this issue which they had not fixed and all they told me was that they couldnt do anything to fix it. I took it to a VW dealership about a week later and they found and fixed the problem for $1000. So the long and short of it was that I spent $3000 when I could have just spent $1000 by taking it directly to a licensed knowledgable shop in the first place.

HONEST, These folks have all been courteous, professional, repairs were done much sooner than I had hoped. These guys will talk to you like you have a brain. I saw them treat several less knowledgable customers with patience and respect. They will take time to discuss the mechanics of a problem with you. Their basic approach seemed to be respectful to male & female, younger & older customers. If someone quotes you cheaper get they details. I had that experience & tried a shop in the CSULB area. Results were EXTREMEMLY POOR. AE saved me & my truck from a major failure by the other shop. Actual cost at Automotive Excellence was much less than anticipated. The handled the diagnosis & repair in less than 24 hrs. The ability to have TRUST in their work is PRICELESS.

AAA battery service center. NOT RECOMMENDED by Client Upon arriving I was excited to see a busy location, that must mean good things right? Boy were we disappointed. We were Referred to this location by AAA for a battery to be replaced under warranty. Drove from Bixby Knolls to Seal Beach on Sunday to get my battery replaced. The gentlemen that tried to assist me was not friendly at all. He was rather dismissive about by issue. The battery was covered by AAA 3 year warranty service but this location DID NOT HELP ME with this issue. In the end I had to get a jump start again before driving off to look for another AAA location that would assist with my issue. This location did not help me and I CANNOT RECOMMEND them.

Having a 10 year old BMW means finding a competent and reliable alternative to using a dealer. It took me three different attempts at using inexperienced BMW shops until I found Automotive Excellence. I have been using them for the past two years and have found them to be extremely reasonable with their prices, extremely helpful at planning and forecasting ways to reduce maintenance expenses and helpful in general. Owning an older vehicle means finding the right mechanic who can take care of you - I recommend this shop without reservation. Talk to Peter or Andrew. I find some of these other reviews to be difficult to believe. I guess no company can please everyone.

Had to use my AAA membership for the first time tonight, and this company was the closest AAA service. I received a text stating when theyd arrive. He (I think his name was William) showed up earlier than expected, discovered that my battery needed replaced, had a replacement in his truck, and the cost was very reasonable. And...he finished the job BEFORE the ETA of arrival!! This was by far thee best service Ive experienced in many years. Thank you Automotive Excellence, for living up to your name!!

I forget this managers name, he was rude. I have an old car and just because of that he would charge me more. He directly told me this ! It is like a hospital charges an old man much more just because he is old. The price is so high that it is even 30% more than the dealer charge. I called the dealer and compared the price they offered with this mechanic shop charged. 30% higher ! are you kidding me? workers are cool dudes. too sad they have a mean boss.

We had problems with our car three days before having to transport my daughter, son-in-law and their two daughters (2 1/2 and 2 months old) to LAX so they could fly back to Washington D.C. Even though they were very busy they understood our problem and helped us out. Can anything be better than a local business helping out a local in trouble. I have used them before when there was not a time restraint and they took just as much care with my problems.

Automotive Excellence is always great. I brought my girlfriends 2011 Sonata in for a basic maintenance checkup and do you know what they told me? "Everything looks fine. Well see you next time." They charged something like $40 for an oil change, topping up the fluids, and the inspection, and didnt try to talk me into any additional expenses. How rare is that? Just another in a growing history of positive interactions here. Highly recommend.

I have been taking both my BMW and my Hyundai Santa Fe to Automotive excellence fo several years. They are the most honest repair shop I have ever done business with. I will never go to the dealer again. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Work is done on time and I have never had to return for the same problem. I can t imagine having the experience the negative reviewers describe. I was a loyal customer for five years. The managers were courteous, efficient, helpful. The prices were excellent and so was the work. I brought them their first SMARTCAR. They learned on me and did a consistently outstanding job for considerably less than dealer prices. I would (and have) happily recommended them to everyone.

My Wife and I have been bringing our cars here since we moved out to the west coast in 2012, and they have yet to disappoint. Fair pricing, quality work, and responsive customer service. The only complaint I have is that they are very busy (victims of their own success) so sometimes getting an appointment can be tough. Cannot recommend highly enough.
