Im a yoga teacher in the SF Bay Area whos absolutely in love with Kinship. I practiced there frequently when I was visiting family in LA last winter. Here are some highlights from my experiences: 1) Atmosphere- simple, urban, yet home-like with all the wood and natural materials. Best guys bathroom Ive ever seen in a yoga studio. The heat is seriously the best. Its even, controlled, and quiet. One of the teachers said it comes from the floor. Thats awesome! I just love the feel walking into your space, I really do. 2) Great teachers- Sam C. taught a 6am class that was lovely. Great, concise instruction with a challenging yet slow flow. There are very few places to find classes this early. If youre a committed yogi, you know how important it is to start your day with yoga early. 3) Prices are off the hook. It looks like you just raised them but when I dropped in last winter it was $10. Thats unheard of. Thats too good to be true. However, your unlimited monthly is only at $85 and thats a damn good price. Im definitely going to keep coming here. I want to take Ryan, the owner out to tea/coffee because this place is really a gem and has impacted my life in such a positive way. Thanks Ryan and Kinship crew. I hope to meet all of you and flow in your classes next time Im down.

I love Kinship Yoga. The teachers and staff are beyond supportive and they truly care about the well being and comfort of the patrons. The atmosphere is open, friendly and warm, a perfect setting for improving ones practice. The prices are greatl; 45 bucks for the first month and then a 3 month summer discount package total of 245 dollars for four months, which is an amazing deal when compared to other, more corporate, yoga studios. I THRIVE on the communal aspect of hot yoga. I need a yogi teachers guidance in order for me to maintain a correct, healthy, and safe technique; I tap into and utilize my fellow classmates chi during a particularly taxing flow. The "communal aspect," the fact that we, as patrons of KInship Yoga, are submitting ourselves willfully to these unpleasant "harsh" conditions, is an emotion I have not felt since the days of high school sports. The only downside is that I wish they had more "beginner" classes.geared at people like me who went gungho into yoga. without much of a background on the subject.

We love Kinship Yoga... the only reason I am give it 4 out of 5 stars is because of an issue Id like to share... The studio has taken great care to create marks on the yoga room floor in order to inform their fellow yogis of the polite way to situate yourself in a yoga studio. It isnt about conformity or control -- it is about honoring each and every person in the room by giving them the space needed to have a meaningful yoga practice... but people get offended when instructed that they should indeed line up their mats on these strategic and well place marks. Their lack of yogic education creates disharmony in class, and it seems it would be helpful if the yoga teachers helped to educate their students on how and why we organize the mats in order to give people the proper space in front of them and behind them, not just next to them. This is my only complaint... as I said we love the studio, the teachers and the staff and feel so fortunate to have found such a wonderful studio to practice in.

Ive been to A LOT of Yoga studios around Los Angeles, NY, & other cities and Kinship is my all time favorite! A studio is only as good as its instructors and I have yet to take a bad class at Kinship - they are all excellent! They dont take you through the motions of the poses (if I can teach the class thats a problem), but each, in their own unique way, work you through breathe.. meaning... spirituality... corrections in the poses and a true understanding of what we are doing and why. Additionally, the room is warm enough - not the uncomfortable bikram hot, but warm enough to get a good sweat going - enough to detox the body, open the joints, clear the mind. To put it bluntly, I have class pass and Kinship is the ONLY yoga studio I invested in and signed up for additional unlimited classes. .. thats how much I love this Highland park, communal, beautiful studio. Great energy, a community feel, EXCELLENT and invested and intuitive and life-educated instructors.

This is my new fav yoga studio in LA! And Ive been to over a dozen studios here in my ten years (including teaching for 2 years) in Los Angeles. The facility is amazing. The teachers are incredible, fun, knowledgeable, strong classes for both beginners and expert. The room is heated with the best heat of any studio Ive encountered in LA... radiant heat panels, not forced air, so your body is warm, but you can still breathe easily. The studio owner, Ryan is awesome. Cool, down to earth, a great teacher, really accommodating. You can tell he just loves yoga and really wants to create an amazing community experience here in the cozy, cool, eclectic Highland Park. Parking is a breeze, there is a lot right behind the studio. And the classes are the most affordable Ive ever seen in the city. Like, a total bargain!!!! I am hooked. This is a great community. Come experience for yourself!

Best yoga studio in Los Angeles! Kinship inspires everyday practice with well rounded classes and experienced, no nonsense teachers. Whether its hot yoga Bikram style, Yoga Barre, Restorative Yin Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Sound Baths or my new favorite Aerial Yoga, Kinship creates a special something for everyone. From the ceramic water jugs to the Tibetan prayer bead swing, just walking into the heart and craft created space brings a smile on my face as I look for what new and amazing project owner Ryan has been manifesting. Located in Historic Highland Park, the studio has easy, cheap or free parking with three different lots close by. Nothing has been compromised for the yogis here! Even the changing rooms are spacious and have showers. So excited to have this neighborhood studio in the community!

Kinship is my favorite studio Ive ever been to, hands down! All of the teachers at this studio have such great mat-side manner and are super gifted. Theres a class for everyone, from gentle hatha with Rob to higher energy vinyasa flow with Claire. I try never to miss Bens class- or Stellas, or Veronicas, or okay, anyones. Im pretty hooked! Everyone at the front desk is super friendly and makes everything so easy. Highland Park is changing, and I was nervous about a yoga studio on Fig, but the quality of the Kinship studio is such a blessing to have right around the corner from my house that now I dont hesitate to go to class every damn day. 100% recommend!

I dropped in for a gentle yoga class probably for my first and last time soley because I travel quite often. The class was very relaxing and it helped me calm the anxiety Ive felt surfacing for the last couple of days. I did sense a lot of "spiritual egotism" and not any love at all. No love. No one spoke to eachother and even eye contact was rare. When I waved goodbye and said thank you to the receptionist and teacher they seemed to be in their own little bubble. Not sure if they flat out ignored me or just accidentally zoned me out. Either way it felt bad and thats the note I left on. Oh well, time to move on.
