I have never been so impressed with an auto shop in my life! I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Heres my story its a bit long but I really want people to know that good mechanics are out there and that they work at Ultimate!! About a month ago I had my 2014 Lexus IS taken into to a different shop that told me I needed my thermostat housing replaced due to the coolant leak I had. I had the work done there and then only 3 weeks later I came out to my car to find another coolant leak. I took it back to the shop who then told me I had another issue a coolant tube bursted. They said it was at no fault of their own. They told me the cost would be almost $500. Luckily my Lyft driver that morning had recommended Ultimate Auto Repar so I gave them a call and spoke with Michael the owner. I asked him if he thought that it would be at any fault of the previous mechanic and he said he wasnt sure but to bring my car to him. He said to replace the coolant tube he would only charge me $250 and also told me that if this situation happened with him he wouldnt even charge me whether or not it was their fault or not. The following day Michael called me with some bad news that my car needed a lot of work. He wanted me to come down to his shop so he could show me the multiple coolant leaks and oil leaks that I had. Which aside from the newest leak I had no idea of nor was ever told about from the previous mechanic. Michael took time out of his day to show me where my car had leaks. The next day I got a call from Michael who explained to me now that he had taken apart my car that the previous mechanic had never replaced my thermostat housing but had put silicone all over it! I asked him if he wouldnt mind calling the other auto shop to explain what happened. With Michaels help he called the owner at the other shop and explained to him what they found. Michael encouraged them to take my car back and do the work. He later even followed up with me to make sure that everything was okay and that my car was getting fixed. I am just extremely blown away by the service I have received from Ultimate Auto Repair. Thank you so much for all your honesty and you definitely have a future customer. Ive already began recommending Ultimate Auto Repair to friends and family. Huge thank you!!!!!! Youve truly made up for the service I received from the other shop.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Car issues have plagued me since I got my license 10 years ago, and Ive had both good and bad experiences with auto repair shops throughout the bay area.I am one who knows absolutely nothing about cars, it is especially important to find an auto repair shop I can trust. I moved to los gatos over 3 years ago, and naturally, my car issues followed me here. Within my first month of moving here, I needed to get my tire and rim replaced on my lemon of a Mercury Milan. My first home in Los Gatos, adjacent to ultimate auto, so I thought, why not give them a try? I had a great experience working with michael. He didnt try to sell me anything. He didnt tell me I needed to fix irrelevant problems x, y, and z. He simply fixed my car at a reasonable cost, and he even let me leave it parked there while I was out of town. Since then, I have continued to go to ultimate auto for everything related to my car, despite now living several miles away. This place has proven to be an amazing, reliable, and trustworthy auto repair shop, and I refuse to go anywhere else. Most recently a driver backed into me and destroyed my front bumper and my radiator blew, and I called Michael to let him know Id be dropping off my car and he took care of me. Do note that michael is nearly always either short staffed or overworked. He literally always have cars in the parking lot that are needing his magic touch so do not expect your car to be done in an hour or so. Drop it off and call and Uber/Lyft/Taxi, its better to have quality fixture and know your car is in great hands than to rush everything around you and regret later!

Michael Is hands down the best mechanic Ive been to in the last 4 years. Recently Ive moved to south San Jose and coming here was a bit far. I came to get my water pump done and Michael went the extra mile. All the time have my cars have been fixed, they stay fixed. From a 1980s car to a 2012 car, this shop does it all. When I moved, I went to a local shop down Monterey road and the service was slow and cheaper. Wow, did that mess me up big time, I paid double to get it fixed. The guy who did my oil change did not tighten up the cap and my oil leaked, which led to so many things. They also sold me old brakes that were sharpened or something. I eventually went back to Ultimate Auto Repair and Michael showed me what had happened and how my brakes were used (comparing it to a brand new brake rotor). Thank goodness this was caught on and Michael fixed everything for me - even showing me the old parts that came off my car. He has never sold me anything extra and is a very honest owner. If it needs to be fixed, he will take me straight to the problem and let me see it for myself before anything. He does his best to find the cheapest parts for our cars. This is what you call great work integrity. Ive referred all of my friends and familys and even coworker to Ultimate Auto Repair and always, have they left satisfied and remember who their mechanic shop was. I want to thank this shop for everything it had done, it is worth the extra 7 mile drive knowing I am coming to somebody so honest and trustworthy.

Our Infiniti started handling poorly right around thanksgiving, with the check engine light turning on, the drive light on the transmission flashing, and a grinding noise happening at low speeds. We called Infiniti to see what was happening. They suspected that it was nothing, or maybe an electronics issue for the check engine/drive light. They wanted to charge us $100 to reset the electronics. Now, flash forward to January 1st. Our car has gotten worse, we need to get it fixed, and we dont know who will take us over the holidays. We pull up to Ultimate auto repair without an appointment and half an hour before closing, and they immediately jump to the rescue. They tell us that its definitely a transmission issue, with the flashing D signaling overdrive. They tell us that they will start by checking the fluid, then look at the solenoids, then look at the whole suv. At most, it would have cost $3500 for a new transmission (still cheap as far as those go). Thankfully, it was just solenoids, and cost us a total of $355 for parts AND labor. Plus, they had it fixed in a matter of 3 days (we brought it on a Saturday, it was fixed by Wednesday). I would have happily paid more for the help these guys gave us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
