I belong to two other clubs since I play lots of tennis, however, signed up for LA Fitness for step classes. So I only come here once a week for this particular reason- one would think that they would love clients who only visit 4 hrs a month and pay monthly membership- only to find bunch of rude young staff who clearly cannot get job anywhere else, since customer service or focus is not on their list. I am really surprised that the management does not see this- from most of the reviews I read here and everywhere else- they all should get some training in customer service. But that is the least of my complaints here. They tend to have their instructors not show up so the ONE step class they have during work week, TWICE (so 50%) of the time, the sub instructor did not show up, only for us to find out in class (even after the class was supposed to start). Now for national chain and business operation like this, they should not struggle to find trained instructors and if they need to fill in a spot for someones replacement- they should have a pool of people who can teach the class they advertise. I have contacted the gym management twice now as well as the LA Fitness Headquarters and was assured that this will NOT happen again. Time will tell.

I have been a member of LA Fitness before in other states. I chose to sign up for this one because of its proximity to my house. Walking in to sign up for a membership was a huge mistake. I will echo what other reviewers have said -- the sales staff I dealt with here were painfully unprofessional and tried to hard-sell me on much more expensive plans than I saw advertised. They even went to the extent of lying to me that I was not eligible for some of the cheaper plans because they "require a 36 month commitment to get that pricing." I ended up signing up for a $30/mo. membership online through AAA that was $110 cheaper than what sales was trying to get me to sign up for (which I was suddenly eligible for even though I mentioned AAA previously). I would like to say, though, that there was a guy in charge of personal training at the time (white guy, short hair, blue polo) who was very professional and is the only reason I did not just get up and walk out. Have him train the sales staff because he was professional, no nonsense, and is the only reason I joined this club.

Ive been a member of LA Fitness for 10 years, moving from the Lake Forest gym to Alicia when Alicia opened. Why did I move, because this gym is the best around! I use the pool most often, but get to the machines as often as I can. I beg to differ with some of the previous posts. I do not think this gym is dirty, full of thieves nor is the staff rude. They are usually too busy checking members in to laugh at anyone or make fun of them. I think there are lots of people writing reviews that would kick if they were hung with a new rope. The only reason I dont give this review 5 stars is because I never give an excellent for anything, as there is always room for improvement. Everyone has an off day, perhaps that is what happened to the posters that wrote such poor reviews.

Great facility, but the staff ARE DISHONEST, and always are trying to sell you packages that dont worth the money. And all they do is tell you lies for you to sign up. Once you do that. And you notice that there is something different . You kindly bring that to the management attention. And they blame it on the employee that doesnt work there anymore . HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE , at the store . And the managers at the headquarters are a joke . And incompetent. The only reason I go there is cuz is close to my house . And is conviient for me. And I dont wanna do incliciation fee some where else LIKE 24 fitness whic is GREAT . Never had a problem Or Crunch .wichbis small but still great .

Beautiful facilities, but this gym gets the lowest possible rating from a horrible experience that NEVER should have happened. I happened to be in the right place at the right time to witness my son escape from a BROKEN gate in the child care center. He made it to the front doors of the club and NO ONE STOPPED HIM! Come to find out the gate had been broken for OVER A WEEK and nothing had been done to fix it asap. Considering the kids club is understaffed by bored out of their mind people, it would have been just a matter of time before some child escaped out to the parking lot. Unbelievable and unacceptable.

Horrible Gym...Staff was EXTREMELY disrespectful to me. Even the personal trainer(Nina) was very impolite and had so much attitude towards me.I drove to the gym for my personal training session and when I checked in for the session Nina rudely informed me that she would not give me a session because of the problems I had with the gym! Also, when I was signing up the salesman told me the gym will be open till 12 but then I was told they can close whenever they want. After I ended my membership at the gym they CONTINUED to charge my credit card. Will never go to this gym again or ever join ANY of their gyms!

My first time in this location, pool was clean, staff was friendly. My only concern is mens showers dont have shower curtains. The other 2 LA Fitness Ive gone to have them. When I asked the front desk about it, I was told they were removed because there were "weird things" happening in there. Doesnt make sense to me: 1. Just because there are incidents in the showers doesnt mean you need to remove the privacy curtains for everyone. 2. If there are "weird things" happening, I rather have curtains than not. Management team really needs to reconsider this issue.

My sister and I went to this LA fitness yesterday. There was a terribly rude girl at the reception desk, called Neda, who started making fun of our accents when she realized that English is not our first language. Even when we were training at the gym, she was still pointing to us, trying to show us to a colleague of her and they both kept laughing at us. I then talked to her manager and she did not even apologized for this pathetic behavior of her employee. Do not expect to be treated politely and appropriately if you choose this LA fitness as your gym.

poor security. locker was forced open and lock broken, stole my sisters and my purse, all our ids: drivers license, military id (medicare card), credit cards, debit cards, checkbooks, house keys, sunglasses, reading glasses, green cards, cash and more items. i have cancer, now i can not have my treatments because i do not have my military id (medicare card). i was a guest of my sister, and my first time to try LA Fitness in Alicia Parkway and this happens! and they say this is common!! WOW!!! I would not recommend this gym at all!!!

Its a good gym and clean that has a variety of activities that you can do (weights, cardio, swimming, basketball, racketball, simulated golf, work out classes, even a day care). Biggest negative to me are their hours form Saturday - Sunday are 8am - 8pm. And the lack of security cameras outside. Some time back I had my car get hit when it was just parked right outside the entrance. Ive heard similar thing happen, and even items stolen from open areas like the basketball court or during workout classes.
