In response to my fathers review below, I had my 2014 Ford Fiesta worked on at this shop over the course of a week towards the end of April/early May and regret ever bringing it here. I brought the car in for a check engine light (the car ran normally despite the light being on), and it was diagnosed by the shop has having a bad timing belt and sensor. This seemed odd, as the car had just under 40,000 miles at the time, but I trusted them and had them proceed with the work. I got my car back that afternoon and the check engine light was still on. I took it out for a drive (thinking the light would reset), but the car ran poorly and nearly stalled a couple of times. I brought it back the next morning. Being a Sunday, it couldnt be looked at until Monday morning. I was then told a valve was stuck and had to be replaced in the cylinder head. A few days went by and I was without a car to commute to and from work. It later turns out that all 4 exhaust valves were bent and needed replacement. A week later (I had brought the car in on a Saturday, and didnt get it back until the following Thursday), I received the car. The next morning, I started it up and it began to run erratically, and almost died again. I took it straight to my dealership, who found a vacuum leak. The leak was caused by a crushed O-ring, which was done by the previous mechanic (Midas). Ford also claimed the car shouldnt have needed a timing belt so soon, saying they recommend replacement between 75,000-120,000 miles. To sum it up, I am out $900 for the initial timing belt replacement, $365 for Ford to fix the vacuum leak, plus rental car expenses for the whole 2nd week Ford needed to fix the vacuum leak. Midas Corporate did respond to me yesterday finally, hopefully I can recoup some of my lost money. Drivers beware!

DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!! My son took his car into this Midas due to a check engine light. They told him his timing belt was bad. The car only had 35K miles. Bill was $900. When he got the car back it ran very poorly. He took it back and found that the belt was installed incorrectly and bent all the valve lifters. Now we have a major overhaul. They did repairs for free but had the car for a week. Car still did not run right. Son took car to local dealer to check out the car which he should have done originally. Dealer found that Midas crushed a O-ring for the vacuum advance when reinstalling the intake manifold. Dealer also stated timing belt does not cause a check engine light to come on and they shouldnt be replaced until at least 100K miles. Dealer also stated that Midas cleared the computer so no previous trouble could be read. Son asked for all money back by writing a letter to this Midas shop and Midas corporate office. They did not respond to the request. Do not use Midas Monrovia. They took advantage of a young person with little knowledge of his car. They ripped him off.

Horrible. Never again will I take my vehicles to this place. Took my car to get a coolant flush and they recommended I replace the thermostat. So I let them. The very next day my car was overheating worse than when I had taken it in. When I called back I explained what was going on and they immediately said I needed to replace my water pump which I was positive wasnt the solution. I proceeded to take the job into my own hands when overheating began to get worse. I replaced all the hoses, the radiator, the thermostat housing etc. Not thinking I had to replace the thermostat because I had just had it done..WRONG!!! The thermostat they had installed to "oem specs" was totally different than the one I needed. So now Ive spent even more money to fix the problem that shouldve been taken care of from the beginning..I guess if you want anything done right you gotta do it yourself.

They are known as a muffler shop and claim do all types of work on your car. Very true if they know how to do it. Every time they worked on my cars they made them worse. In the process, I became another repeat customer. They claim they know it all but in but in reality, they tear your car apart, max the cost and have you keep coming back. The very last repair they did was to change a catalytic converter and by doing so they dismantled the entire exhaust system completely. A muffler shop who did not do a complete weld and took the factory installed resonator off the car in the process. The fume now comes into the cabin and the car sounds like a nosiest Harley. I had to take the car to the dealer and pay about five grand to redo what they did to my car. A muffler shop who could not do what they are branded to do best.

I was having brake light and turn signal issues. I went to two different. Shops. Each wanted to charge about$ 150-200 to replace wires etc. I then went to the Midas shop on Myrtle. They diagnosed the problem in minutes and told me the problem. He fixed the problem without changing wires. It cost me only a fraction of the price the others quoted me! I trust this shop and definitely will go back for my car issues! Thanks guys!!!!

Took my 2001 Camry in to mike to change out my timing belt, brakes, and tires and I have to say that his work is impeccable. He treats your car like if it was his own car. Its hard to find a mechanic that you can trust but after I experienced his work and because his price was so competitive I think Ive found a mechanic for life. Thanks mike and thank you to your staff for the excellent work.

No good for smog checks! Made an appt... no smog check guy in today( 830am)... only other person that can do smog checks is the owner who wont be in till "noon time". No phone call, no email, no text. They even called and verified the appt! Very disappointed and inconvenienced! I have an appt at DMV that i will now miss too.

Walked in to find a new owner. New technicians. Had my brakes changed, and they fell off while I was driving on the freeway!!. They did tow my car back and fix it though. But, it does not change the fact that I could have been lying dead , on CA 57. They lost my trust.

Fast, efficient, very thorough, and affordable. Daniel and the rest of the staff were very friendly and professional and went out of their way to explain any issues with the car. Highly recommend.
