Update (downgrade to 1-star) No. I paid the charge, asked for nothing free from this merchant, and was simply confused by the $98 charge that I did not remember from when I dropped off my vehicle after a sleepless night at the hospital. When I asked if I could go and get my copy of the estimate (my right as a customer), the owner took a derisive tone with me and repeatedly jabbed at my signature on his copy of the estimate as though I could not see it. Perhaps the owner, John, is projecting his aggressive nature*** onto me, b/c I made no threats, either verbally or physically, towards him or the kind mechanic, Chris. Belittling customers is unprofessional. Professional would have been for John to simply let me go get my copy of the estimate. That way, he would be vindicated and I would have apologized to him for my mistake--I would have also posted a positive review in appreciation. However, John seemed offended by me wanting to go and get my copy of the estimate and became increasingly agitated and hostile towards me each time I responded as calmly as I could that I did not remember the $98 charge and that, yes, I realized that it was my signature on the estimate. Only after the mechanic, Chris, reminded me of a discussion him and I had when I dropped off my vehicle, did I realize my mistake. Then I regretted my error and was inclined to apologize to John and thank him for not charging for storage, but he turned his back on me and went to his office where he listened as I settled up with Chris. From his office, John sniped that "he cant leave any property here and make sure he doesnt leave his truck unlocked" when I inquired if they could hand the key to my vehicle over to the tow truck driver when the tow truck arrived--so I sat outside for the next hour or so to wait for the tow truck & posted this review while I waited. In the end, I feel I justly asserted my right as a customer to inquire about a charge that I did not recall & asked if I could go get my own copy of the estimate to confirm; yes, it was my mistake for not noticing the $98 charge from the start and, as soon as I realized it, I promptly paid & felt terrible about the trouble I had caused, but I did not expect to be denigrated by the merchant & it is uncouth of him to be making veiled insults about me for posting my experience. Abandoned? Thursday was the day I should have had my vehicle off the premises to avoid storage charges. You said you understood my situation--Thursday & Friday were some of the worst days of my life. You were closed Saturday and Sunday. Monday, in between making arrangements that come with a death in the family, I tried to find a wrecker that could do same day pickup of my truck. Tuesday was the best I could do. Thank you for your understanding. ***Lastly, my army days left me with little hearing in my right ear & so I could not hear what you said when you marched towards me while pointing your finger at me as the tow truck drove away with my vehicle. You seemed angry & I was momentarily worried that you would not stop. Original post: Painful experience with this merchant. The estimated cost of repair exceeded the value of the vehicle. I tried to find an auto dismantler to take the vehicle, but having a family member in the hospital with a terminal illness was my priority at the time. A kindness, and the reason for the two stars instead of one, the owner, John, did waive the storage charges for my vehicle on account of the loss of my loved one that prevented me from the timely arranging of a tow to take my vehicle to a wrecker. However, in the mental fog that comes with having a family member near death, I did not remember seeing the $98 diagnostic charge and questioned it. Thereafter, John became irritated, and dismissive towards me and threatened that he would reinstate the storage charges if I didnt accept the $98 charge. Ultimately, I paid the charge because, clearly, it was on the estimate that I signed. Still, it left a bad impression with me that he become irritated and dismissive of me.

The mechanics here are good people. Ive been taking my Volvo S40 there for over 3 years. They do quality repairs with fair prices. They have been nothing but helpful and kind. Nate always explains the car problem in terms that I understand and shows me the parts that were replaced. When Im tight on money he lets me know what needs to be done now and what can wait plus they offer carecredit to help with the payments. When I had an accident and other persons insurance provided me with a rental car Orr dealt with the rental company regarding how long I would need the rental for. He also advised me on how to deal with the guy that hit me because he just wanted to give me cash instead of go through his insurance. Nate advised against that and thank goodness because the cost of the damages were WAY more than the guy was offering. Thats just a few of the many ways that he has helped me out over the years. I would recommend this auto shop to anyone that wants an honest mechanic with quality service at an affordable price.

A++ service. My 2002 Mercedes c240 started overheating on Christmas eve, on my way to a friends house, I did a quick search for auto repairs facilities near the area and Orr automotive was the closest one. Any way to make story short the shop was just about ready to close around 2 pm, guess it was a short day for them after all it was Christmas eve!. Turns out a had a defective coolant thermostat and a damaged radiator hose clamp!!. the guys stayed a little longer just to get the parts and fix my car. and they where happy to do it too, they got me back on the road in no time, my car is still running. and I might add, I have spend more in a single oil change for this same car at different mechanic shops, then what I spend that they on the repair. this guys knew what they where doing, and did it fast, and they are good people tooo!!!!.

Their passion for cars and what they do provides me with a sense of security that my cars will be well taken care of. Most importantly their prices are great! I have and will continue to recommend this shop to others. Thanks again Orr Automotive!!

Great service, always honest! Ive had nothing but good experiences at Orr. This time they took care of a pretty big repair in an amazingly fast time so that we could go on vacation on time. I also appreciate that they are always honest and dont try to sell you on fixing stuff that doesnt need to be fixed. Via Sure Critic
