CUSTOMERS BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION AND PUBLIC STORAGE LOCATIONS IN GENERAL. MY UNIT WAS BROKEN INTO ABOUT A WEEK AGO. THE THEVIES HAD BROKEN IN THROUGH THE WIRE MESCH NETTING OF MY UNIT. THE WIRE CEILINGS MESCH WAS TAMPERED WITH. I APPROACHED MY UNIT UNLOCKED MY LOCK WHICH WAS STILL INTACT AND NOTICED TONS OF ITEMS MISSING. THEIVES DONT NEED TO BREAK A LOCK TO BREAK INTO MOST UNITS THERE IS A 3-4FT GAP ABOVE TOP OF ROLL UP DOOR TO CEILING, THAT IS SEPERATED BY A WIRE MESCH WHICH ANYBODY CAN BRING IN A LADDER AND CUT THE WIRE MESCH AND GET INTO YOUR UNIT WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. I TOLD MANAGEMENT AND THE FIRST THING THEY ASKED WAS DO I HAVE INSURANCE, WHICH I SAID YES. JUST A LITTLE FYI, INSURANACE IS MANADATORY BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN RENT A STORAGE UNIT THROUGH PUBLIC STORAGE, I PROCEEDED TO SHOW THEM HOW THE THEIVES MUST OF BROKE IN MY UNIT AND THE PROPERTY MANAGER SAID IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR ANYONE TO GO IN THROUGH THE WIRE CEILING THAT IS ATTACHED AND THATS ALL HE SAID, NO FURTHER HELP WHATSOVER. I FILED A POLICE REPORT WITH MONTCLAIR PD AND THEY WERE NO HELP. THE SECURITY AT THIS STORAGE PLACE IS HORRIBLE SO IS THE MANAGEMENT!!!!

The facility is clean and well kept, security cameras make you feel safe. The actual process of renting the space can be some what aggravating. the manager John attempted to up-sale me at every turn first handing me an old used lock that I was expected to pay a new price for (I had my own). Then he hands me a roll of tape and said if you dont use in in 30days return it for a refund (Right). Then he says he has to charge me an admin fee even though all my information was currently in their system and I was a current customer in good standing and never late (soaked for a $22,00 got cha fee) Then he tells me I need to buy insurance because according to him its MANDATORY. I assured him it was not and had a copy of my homeowners insurance for him to review just in case. He never bothered to look just wrote declined across the insurance papers. Lots of complaints from people that used the insurance. I like the location its just an irritating and a rip off of $22.00 for an admin fee.

It was this locations reviews that definitely gave me more piece of mind before I reserved a unit. Just as the reviews said they are a fabulous team. They offered me coffee or soda not just for my unit rental process but anytime. Jon and Mike helped me with starting my unit rental. I have to say the good reviews do them justice and thats why Im so compelled to leave one myself. I have to say only one detail to the climate control units that bothers me is it seems fairly warm. While I dont expect it to feel like the refrigerated section of a major chain market, the units are fairly warm, maybe 75-80f on the 3rd floor and the elevator is always much warmer than the rest of the of the building. I love my unit and whenever I see the employees they always say hi unless your digging through your unit then its just a hi and bye which is prefered to me personally. I cannot say enough about the team, very welcoming

Im sorry i cannot speak for the inside storage at public storage, because i am an R.V. i have been stored by my owner outside. im a big one but there is plenty of room. im comfortably stored between an old boat and another motorhome. i made a lot of friends in a few short weeks, when my owner picked the cozy spot for me to rest in. my owner said, "the R.V. parking here is very reasonably priced." and a gentleman named john who was very knowledgable took good care of him at the desk inside of the air conditioned lobby. He said i was protected by cameras and coded key pads, to enter and exit the secure premises. and john walks the area periodically during the day as well. i will recommend this facility to all of my friends. well, until my owner takes me on our next adventure try public storage i can always use someone to talk to.

I have had a great experience storing with Public Storage at this location. I am a college student utilizing the space while I am away from campus for the summer. I am sharing a 5x10 unit with a friend. The price is reasonable, especially because we are splitting the unit. The mandatory insurance gets added on, which I suppose I should have expected, and the move-in fee gets tacked onto that reduced first month fee. In any case, its a good decision to store here. It is very easy to use during access hours. We had a bit of a walk to our unit on the third floor, but the provided carts helped with moving our things. Our space was clean, flexible, and really everything we needed. We really had no complications with anything. John and Chris were very helpful and made the process very straightforward.

Great facility: clean, well-lit, climate controlled, great access, wonderful staff - did I forget to say clean? John, the manager is always working a broom or wiping down windows, walls, etc.), but never forgets to say "Hi" and be courteous to everybody. Christopher is always a bundle of energy, with an enthusiasm that lets you know that he loves his job and really enjoys dealing with his customers. This passes down through the chain of command and I have never dealt with any staff member (like I have with other storage facilities) who just project that they hate their jobs and would rather do anything else but deal with their customers. This is by far the best storage facility that I have ever dealt with and its managed and staffed by top notch people.

We drove almost 100 miles to Monclair from La Quinta, Ca and we had a very unpleasant experience with a girl Named April. Very bad attitude and poor customer service. Talking to other customer in a very rude tone in front of us. I was not going to put myself in a position that just because I rent from you you think its OK to belittle me in no way shape or form. So I decide to bite my toung and walk away and decided to go rent elsewhere. Even tho the price ranged about the same I received the most important thing respect and great customer service. I dont understand these type of employees they want to act like if they own the business. Honestly she needs more customer service skills before she can really call herself "A Manager"

I just entered into a contract with Public Storage today and I have to say that I was impressed with not just the facility, but also with the excellent way in which I was handled by the guy behind the desk... He was professional, kind, thoughtful, courteous and funny! He even stayed after hours and waited for me to get to the facility. In todays world the most we can hope for is proficiency in a service provided but when someone offers your the highest level of proficiency along with "service with a smile," that is something that is both very special and memorable. Thanks again Christopher for your commitment to a job well done and for your bright and friendly personality!

The building is well-lit, clean and climate controlled. No bugs or moisture and the staff is very friendly and consistent every time I go in for anything. The security in this place is amazing. If you forget to lock your unit, they call you and let you know. Just to get your gate access code and unit number, they make you show ID. The only downfall with this is that I tried to get my access code over the phone so I could stop by my unit after office hours and was not able to get it. However, I completely understand their policy about this. I would much rather have a storage unit that is on lock down than let anyone and their mother be able to access the units.
