MacVitie Auto Repair run by Dave Gunning is an excellent auto repair shop located on 6th Street in Napa. Prior to purchasing MacVitie, Dave worked for many years as a loyal mechanic for Honda. I have personally known Dave for over 25 years and have always known him to be a kind and honest man. When Dave purchased this repair shop many people flocked to see him because of his honest reputation as a mechanic. Recently, I took my 2013 VW JETTA SPORTWAGON to him for its 40k service. VW quoted me one price and when I went to take it in to them, they nearly doubled the repair price. I even had the original quote in writing from VW. When Dave and I went over the cost of this major service for my Sportwagon, he could not see how they derived these figures. I am loyal to this repair shop and loyal to Dave as my mechanic and friend. I do expect him to make money on my repair but I am greatful that he is as honest as the day is long. With this kind of reputation and honesty and expert ability with vehicles, I will be staying with MacVitie Auto Repair for a very long time.

My Subaru Outback is fifteen years young. Ever since its initial purchase in July of 2000, the auto was constructed on May 01, 2000, Mac Vitie has serviced said automobile. I have only 220,000 miles. Yes! I have had to have valve adjustment, new Catalytic Converter, new Timing Belt now and then, general maintenance. Other than those things, the Outback runs great. I am grateful to MacVitie Auto Service for honesty in professionalism.
