We have a 99 Jeep Cherokee with over 213, 000 miles. Pete has been working on her and he is GREAT! He spends time with the vehicle and looks for things that we may need to address. After our last visit, I heard an unrelated rattle, took the Jeep back in and he crawled under her and found that there was some faulty work done by another shop. He tweaked what he could and gave us all the info we needed to go in and address the issue with the other shop. The part I loved, was that although Im a woman, he talked me through it and didnt down speak to me as if I knew nothing about cars (I like to tinker when I can). His prices are very fair and consistant with estimates. My favorite part about the last trip in was when I asked, "So Pete, whats next on our to-do list?" (Having a car with over 213k miles, you know its inevitable...) His reply, "Nothing. She looks good and well leave her alone until she speaks up." I believe that other shops would have given me a launry list of "needed" repairs. He gets people. He gets that repairs are expensive and I feel hes morally responsible. Dont let the small shops exterior keep you away. As they say, "its whats on the inside that matters." Thanks Pete!

Ive been hoping to find a trustworthy mechanic in Napa and got lucky when I got turned away from another shop in town and checked out Third Street Auto Repair. Peter is the best mechanic Ive ever worked with - not that Im experienced with this which is why I feel like I got lucky finding him. He was extremely communicative throughout the entire process of getting my girlfriends car fixed. Rather than up-sell me on stuff I didnt need, he made an estimate then called again to ask if he should take the labor time to look further into the cars issues. He even walked me through the technical details of what was causing the further problems with the car, which no mechanic has ever done so thoroughly for me. At the end of the day, he knocked a few bucks off the price too. The car is running nicely and now I have someone in town I can trust for car repairs. Its rare to find a no-bs mechanic and if youre looking for one, Peter is your guy.

Pete had my 2000 4Runner for the 90k service including Timing Belt, Water Pump, Brakes, etc. for this major service. They use OEM parts, answered my questions, and did a very good job for a fair price. The engine compartment was pretty dirty when I gave them the car, and they cleaned it up and it looked showroom ready in there when I got it back. I have been driving the car for a few weeks since the service and everything is working great. I was very pleased with the experience and would recommend them to anyone.

Being somewhat new to Napa Valley, I went to 3rd Street Auto Repair because the ratings were good. I was helping someone who was having issues with an older vehicle. Pete was more than great. He could have found things to charge us for, but instead he was straightforward and very helpful. I found him knowledgeable, honest, and I would not hesitate to recommend him. Thanks Pete for your help and when I need auto repair, I will be back.

Pete is a life saver! We have an old Ford Escort (1995 & 217,000+ miles) that started making loud obnoxious noises and venting exhaust through the front dash - we thought were going to have to buy another car. We dropped off the car and asked him to take a look at it and got it back the next day! It runs great now and the engine has never looked so good since my father bought the car from the Ford dealership in 1995!

Wonderful. Pete helped us out when we had the bad luck to break down on a a Friday night passing through town. He quickly and accurately diagnosed the the problem and very kindly got us in and out the same day despite being very busy. Obviously very honest and knows his business. Would definitely recommend !

If you are in Napa and need car repairs, DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Pete is not only helpful, but he also takes the time to explain in detail whats wrong with your vehicle and what kind of repairs you need. Unlike a lot of other places in Napa, he doesnt overcharge!
