The manager Michelle is by far the worst and most unprofessional manager on the planet. This woman is lazy as hell and is sitting about 90% of the time and when the poor lug has to move off her ass she acts all rude and interupted. Dont know who put you on a high horse, but you need to step off real quick. The gym is very poorly maintained most of the time, machines work but there is a constant pour in of young, dumb egotistical guys who just sit there and talk and when you complain to management nothing happens. The mens locker room is disgusting. Always dirty and not stocked and smells like pure death. The trainers are all hot headed morons. No brain, just pure testosterone and steroids talking. LA Fitness has become a joke these last couple of years and corporate does not even care anymore. This place sadly will go out of business in the next few years, that I do know. I work in business and own businesses and this place has no idea how to properly run one. I am going to steer all the people I have recommended away from this place as well. You do not deserve any business based on how you treat paying guests. Pathetic gym.

I have never had a problem with this gym. As a Muslim women who wears very traditional, modest clothing even when working out, I have often had people give me bad/dirty looks elsewhere, but here, it seems that people just care about working out which is what gyms are supposed to be about. I have never had dirty looks... been hit on, unfortunately, but never negative comments about my religion or work out attire conforming to religious requirements. Staff is pretty pleasant, though often preoccupied. It would be nice if they walked around a bit more often to check on members and ask if they need help using machines, etc. Can get pretty busy, but usually machines open up quickly. The 1 class I took was kind of a waste, honestly, but it was free and yes they tried to sign me up for personal training, but stopped when I said no. Bathrooms are wet because of people coming from the pools, but thats typical. Pretty decent gym. And for $25/month, Im really not complaining.

I just joined for 34.99 a month plus another 78 bux a month for 3 months with a trainer (1x a week). I must say I do love my trainer and the gym is always nice and clean, as is the pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The staff are 1/2 & 1/2, some are friendly and helpful and some suck and seem miserable working there. I dont take it personally. The kids club is good too but should extend its weekend hours to 3pm. The real downside is the sales staff will lie to you & tell you, you never have to wait for machines. WRONG, I am constantly waiting & I work out everyday so its a complete imposition. I will stay with them for 6 months then I am switching to a local gym at the YMCA thats $11 bux a month with a pool & free daycare. Its farther, doesnt have sauna or jacuzzi but I just need a good workout & daycare the foo foo crap I can get at a spa. Lastly, they should lower their rates about 5 bux a person anything over 29 a month is a rip job, sorry.

I decided to finally review this place after giving reviews for Van Nuys, Hollywood, etc. You can read my review there. I live near this location. PRO: They remodel it last year. It have few new equipment inside and expanded the workout area so looks bigger. CON: I was hoping they will replace all the equipment but they didnt. They didnt do as much remodeling as they claim they will do. In fact, after they re-open late, they re-did the wood floors at a much later time. They didnt replace all the ceiling lights which they said they would do. OVERALL: I still a fan of the Van Nuys location but since I live in Northridge, I decided to go to the Northridge location from now on. They did enough to the point that I will go to the Northridge location but I was hoping they did more and replace all the equipment instead of only some of the equipment. TIP: They have a half off sale for smoothies there on Thursday! :)

Honestly this is my home gym and Ive been coming here for 3 years and I am a gym rat so you know how that goes. Since I started coming in the afternoon the staff has been behaving very suspicious. My Italian professor and I spot each other since we lift kinda heavy and I have a back injury from an accident. They told me to leave the gym because they say Im training him when Im fact his the one helping me out and they even saw it happening. I think my membership will be revoke which sucks because I love this gym since day one but now the operations manager and personal training director name Derek are kicking me out.

Terrible! The trainer doesnt train enough time. They just train for 30 min and then give you target let you do by yourself! I want to quit but they owe me 3 lessons, and at the beginning they said they would give my money back and let me wait for10 working days. But they hadnt gave my money back! And I call them, they hanged up my phone call, then, I call them again and again. They said they havent owe my lessons!! Also, they charged the next month training money from my account and I asked them to sent my money back, but they just gave me only a part of it! NOT totally!!!! So horrible! I cant believe that!!

It seems the good reviews are written by those that know a good workout experience requires actual work. Poor reviews seem to be less about this LA Fitness and more about blaming others or excuses for lack of self responsibility. For me, I pay about a dollar a day for the option to go or not and the latter is on me. Even the best, state of the art place cant get results for you, no matter what You pay Your assistant to gym for you, and if your fingers get more excersise txting or scrolling on your device than you can recall reps on those crappy machines, you owe the gym an apology! Just saying..

I went to actually check the gym out .. .. i liked it .. but before that i had a pass .. and they told me i could use it no questions ask.. and they activated the code and everything was going good . And i was gonna sign up until a guy came up and he was trying so hard ..for me to sign up .. until he ask for an ID ..which we didnt have cause i was thinking of working out so i wasnt carrying my wallet with me ..so he said we couldnt use the pass cause i didnt have my ID .. i get it .. but why would the person active the code if it wasnt a big deal? .. anyways there to pushy.

Needs improvement. They updated the equipment about 1.5 ago but its probably equipment that was an older version already. The bathrooms sucks! Its not about the cleaning. Everything is old... so 80 style! Not enough dumbbells to go around. They lock the rest at the aerobic room. If you try to go to the personal training area to use the weights or workout, they tell you to leave. Van Nuys and Universal City location are great!! When they updated the place, l thought it was going to be like those great location BUT NOPE!!
