I have been a member since the early 90s went the gym use to be called Natilus even before Ballys. Now that L.A. Fitness has taken over this gym is worse than ever before. They hired bunch of teenagers at the front desk who has neither manners nor any tact to speak to customers. Brian who is supposed to be a sales person lacks maturity when dealing with his clients; they see things as black and white about any of your issues with the management/gym. Mark/Receptionist girl who is always on her phone never does not greet their customer nor do they make them feel welcome. They have no etiquette towards their customers! L.A. Fitness has taken the gym down to junk. When it rains, the water sips through the ceiling they have buckets to collect the water, the equipment is decades old. Majority of their long time customers have gone over to Powerhouse across the street for right reasons. L.A. Fitness and their staff at De Soto is the most horrible staff I have ever come across in the 20+ years of going to a fitness center. I would completely avoid this location!

I joined Ballys before I checked out the club thinking "This is a Ballys Club, so its got to be good." WRONG!!! The first morning I asked the front desk attendant if she had a map of facility; she didnt. Then I asked if she could tell me where the mats were located to do sit-ups; she didnt know. I emailed the company customer support to gain access to my account online (since it wouldnt let me); NO RESPONSE. Dont bother using the lighter dumbells because they keep them locked. I asked the front desk attendant if she could unlock them; she didnt have the key and said they keep them locked because people steal them. The locker room is filthy. The showers have been scolding hot for 2 weeks and still not repaired. Im done with this gym. I wish I would have checked it out before I joined....Im going to LA Fitness!!!

I like la fitness but avoid this location! Its extremely run down and management will not address your concerns. I received a welcome call by someone at la fitness asking how my work outs are going and I politely addressed a couple of concerns and she rudely cut me off saying that those are "maintenance issues" and she only needs to hear about my workouts! Only half of the tredmills actally work, Staff is allowed to block the fire zone and the building is so old I doubt the fire sprinkler system has been tested in decades! Looks like a death trap. The stair masters here are older than me, and the shower stalls smell like mold. Girls at the front desk spend their day gossiping about members instead of taking the time to greet or welcome them. But I guess the hot tub is nice, when its actually working.

This is an old Ballys that was bought out by LA Fitness. It has a very old gym vibe and several separate rooms. The best part of this gym is their outdoor pool. Today people were swimming even though it was raining! The clientele is an older crowd so classes are simplified. I tried to take Bootcamp today but was told that the other people could not run. This location does have a steam room and I sat there briefly but too many older members came in and sat around which was creepy. As I left, I noticed a pile of feces right next to my car. I hope it was not human. Also the vehicle parked to my left (who had a handicapped sign) parked so close that I could not get into my car. I had to climb in thru the passenger side. It was pouring rain at the time. Not pleasant at all.

This Gym is, or should be, for People that don"t have $$$ to pay a good and clean gym. I have had my membership since it was B.Fitness and went there once or twice but after I saw a Rat and Roaches oh nop, no more...I called and talk to their managers told them what I did not like about that place; smells bad, all machines are dirty and need maintenace, I wanted to stop my membership and they gave me a better deal : 1/2 price and would be able to go to any B.Fitness gym. I visited last week, now under LA Fitness, and after 6 years has no change at all!!! no wonder why their employees go to the signature one to exercise

Nice place. Love the jacuzzi. The showers are good. (The last reviewer must have come on an a day with problems; I have never had a cold shower there.) Sometimes some of the people who are working out are rude and hog machines without sharing. - But that is what you get with all kinds of people. Some people trash the place and wear their worst on their shoulders. But most people are cool. The staff has always treated me very well. I see them constantly cleaning up after people too. Must get tiring doing it day after day. I like that the place plays upbeat music without violence in the lyrics. - That makes it nice after a stressful day.

Locker rooms are horrible and look like they are never cleaned. A lot of the gear is old and after being part of LA fitness, I would say its worth your while to NOT JOIN this club. On top of the facilities looking extremely bad... canceling the membership was near impossible (only 30 mins on phone because they wont let you go online to do it). My favorite memory was when in the middle of the winter, there was no hot water for more than a week. The showers were freezing cold, enough to give you a heart attack.

Most LA Fitness gyms Ive been happy with but this has probably been the dirtiest one Ive been to and am not going back to that one.The bathroom stalls had no toilet paper in them. Showers and locker rooms were dirty and water was built up in the hall. The weight room needed to be updated from the dumbbells to the broken mirrors. The pool was the only thing that I used that was decent. Had a good lap section and was wide enough where I did not have to share a lane with more than one person.

Horrible Horrible Gym, Its the most Unsafe gym ever. My car window was smashed in their parking lot and my moms purse stolen. I called up La fitness customer service and requested them to install cameras and to compensate us in some way for our loss. Through my experience i realized La Fitness is an evil Corporation who dont care about their customers and right from the first person i spoke to everyone else all of them have one answer for you and that is "NO".

This place sucks! Specially the employees I was going here when it was Ballys and it was ok but now its owned by La Fitness I came here and there very rude specially this guy with black hair and big creepy eyes. I wanted a guess pass for a friend and took maybe about 40 mins. for him to tell me to wait another 15. Of you go to La Fitness dont come here I rather drive somewhere else than come here and get shity service.
