Its clean, well maintained and recently repainted on the outside however you will be paying top dollar for the luxury. You have to prove insurance or they will automatically add a surcharge on your rates. They have dumpsters there but you cant use them - although if you ask one of the janitors really nicely they might let you get rid of some recycling. They used to do periodic clean out days when you could put stuff in a dumpster but they havent done that for a long time. They also have a moving van you can get free when you first move in or rent after that. Warning during prime time it can get very busy with a lot of cars parked and youll find yourself having to weave around to get out and even on a good day the exit gate it a sharp turn you may have to back up for - youll see many a person has whacked their car getting out. They also sell moving boxes and packing supplies during normal office hours. They raise rates quite a bit every year and over 14 years our 10x10 unit went from about $120 to $250. You can threaten to leave and maybe get a small discount but ultimately they dont seem to care much so we regrettably went elsewhere and knocked $100 off our rates.

I have been a member of Saf Keep Storage for over a year without any problems. Payed timely and enjoyed my experience. The problem is l recently have been asked to leave out of retaliation and discrimination. This Occurred via another person I know renting from Saf Keep Storage. Saf Keep decided to include me without my knowledge and ask me to move out. I was not informed or contacted by Saf Keep Storage. I tried to contact a Marta Palomino and Natalie Ochie via a request from a extremely rude front desk clerk by the name of Sandy. I have been receiving the run around and have not received a call back. While my stored items have been safe.... its Saf to say that Saf Keep Storage practices retaliation and discrimination. I am born and raised in Oakland Ca. and encourage people of color or people that support people of color to not do business with Saf Keep Storage for their bad business practices. I am taking to social media regarding this situation. I support businesses with integrity to stay in Oakland, Saf Keep Storage is not a business with integrity.

Saf Keep Storage is the best storage facility Ive ever rented from! The whole place is so clean and even smells good! The staff is so friendly and helpful! They take their time to explain things thoroughly and make sure that you have the best of everything! As an example, I reserved my storage facility on-line. When I went into the facility, they had a unit that they had in-mind for me. We went to look at it, and Anibal, the site supervisor, noticed that the unit didnt have a light - I wouldnt have known to even look or ask for that. He switched me to a unit with a light. I used the truck that was available for free when you rent with them (what a perk?!!), and Anibal also let me choose which dolly I wanted to use (they have three to choose from) when I got the truck. I mean, every step of the way, Saf Keep is a class act!! There are carts at the entrance to each elevator for use while youre moving things in. They have my business, and Im so happy that I was led to check them out!!

I have been a customer of Saf Keep for about 10 years. I have used the storage facility on 3rd Street in Oakland three times. I am currently on my 4th time. I also have a unit for my organization which we have had for 8 years. I keep coming back because of the wonderful safe clean facility which is always armed when you leave. I had to put my furniture in storage while I finished the process of buying a condo and am happy to say that it has been one of the trouble free, pleasant and easy experiences that I have ever had. The place is ALWAYS sparkling clean and neat, the staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful and I ALWAYS felt as if my property was safe. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Safe Keep Storage in Oakland is very unprofessional. I was harassed at this location, verbally attacked and was hit hard with racial slurs from a employee of this company. I have had this storage unit for some time now and the service has declined. Although your belongings are secure, (which is the only reason Ive stayed so long) the staff is very unprofessional.

I have been using a Saf Keep Storage unit at the facility on 3rd Street in Oakland for 5 years. I am happy with Saf Keep because the facility is always clean, well-lit, and well maintained. Went on a Friday evening about a unit we had reserved three days prior. Staff was very helpful and friendly. A man showed us to our indoor unit himself and the facility was very clean. We had a coupon for a discounted two months, and they even offered a free truck rental and moving help!
