Car wouldn’t pass smog so the state offered a program to help pay 500 dollars in repairs. I know about cars and I knew that the catalytic converters needed to be replaced and they are pricey. They analyzed my car and told me my cats were bad which I already knew. Okay they should have stopped there. For some reason they were trying to find something else wrong with the car. No check engine light and no trouble codes, so why??? After them having it for 3 days they finally came up with a "suspected" fuel injector leak. Not the gasket but the injector itself. So the total he said was going to be 3000 dollars. He said the injectors needed replacement and they cost 100 dollars for each of my six cylinders and the two cats were going to cost 900 dollars each. Kept trying to tell me over and over that something caused my cats to go out and that he "suspected" the injectors. I dont know about you but suspecting something is the same as assuming it. I’m not willing to pay that much money on someone’s assumption. So I had to pay 187 dollars for the analysis and got my car out of there took it home to look it over and found my O2 sensor wires gouged and two of my spark plug holes were cross threaded. Thats not a fun thing to have to fix. Took a look at my fuel injectors and found out they were fine but took them out anyways to make sure. Bought a 30 dollar rebuild kit for my injectors, that cleans them out. All the injectors were working great. Went and order 2 cats that were 250 each and had a muffler shop weld them on for 200 bucks. So by getting my car out of there I saved a grand total of 2,270 dollars. So a mechanic specially and "analyst" shouldnt use the word “suspect” cause all that means is hes guessing and who has money for that? Oh and my car passed smog, yeah!

We are new to Placerville and when my daughters truck needed some repair work done our paving contractor recommended The Auto Analyst. They fixed my daughters truck, and were very good at explaining everything so we could understand it. They were patient with any and all questions we had. They are very friendly, and made us feel like we had been a long time loyal customer even though it was our first time there. We have since used them for our other vehicles. Its nice to know that no matter how their day is going, they are always friendly and helpful. Oh, and their coffee and cookies are great too!

My wife had an "excellent experience using the Auto Ananlyst" a few months back, so when my 05 Nissan pickup needed repair I chose to give them a try, too. I found both the front office and technicians to be business-like, yet remaining very friendly/personable. Scott was extremely thorough in explaining the steps theyd taken in repairing my vehicle and other issues theyd noticed. Though its not good news to hear of more costly repairs, Id much rather hear it before theres a breakdown. Overall, Id highly recommend Auto Analyst to anyone needing repair and/or maintenace work done on their vehicle.

After being new in town and needing a mechanic I was told The Auto Analyst was a good place to go, and I was happy to find out this was true. Unfortunately I had to take my truck in twice within a span of a week for two different problems, not related and not immediately apparent but each costly, and the people at The Auto Analyst were very helpful and informative. Seth answered my many questions about the repairs and explained everything that needed to be done, even re-explaining when asked. I will be going back, but hopefully just for simple oil changes.
