I want to warn Mothers with children who have severe food allergies about the Kids club at two locations; Highway 50 and Sunrise, and also the Folsom location. You would think that with the rules being no food and no drinks it would put your mind at ease to be able to workout and not worry about your children!!!! HIGHWAY 50/ SUNRISE BLVD. I brought my children to the gym on (10-7-11). There was a lady in front of us with an infant and a toddler. Her toddler had an animal cracker in her hand. I know that food is not permitted in the kids club, so I thought that at any moment something would be said, to the Mother, or the little girl. The only thing that was said, was, " is that an animal cracker?" The little girl replied," uh-huh", to Amanda who had asked the question and Amanda who is a CFF employee proceeded to let her in with the cookie to my disbelief! We had just had an incident a few months prior where my daughter Lily ate something in one of the cars she was playing with at the same gym off of Sunrise and Highway 50 and I had to rush her to Urgent Care, because her breathing had been compromised. I was assured by Paige one of the kids club managers that there were meetings held on the severity of food allergies and the emphasis on no food in the kids club. It took me about a month until I brought Lily back and felt comfortable that the rule of no food was enforced. Until today! I told Amanda, after she just let the little girl in with the animal cracker and she came back to let my daughters in, that "My daughter was allergic to everything in that animal cracker. Amanda said she would go take the animal cracker away and as she did that, I left and went straight to the front desk. Where I asked, "to speak to a manager." I think it was Christi, but Im not sure of her name. I told her what happened and she told me that she probably wasnt even thinking about it. This is where my concern is! There are a lot more children with food allergies and there needs to be more education and information to your employees of the severity of this issue. If the rule is no food, there should be no exceptions! My husband spoke with the corporate office and they directed us to Scott. "He pretty much said, "there was nothing he could do expect make sure signs were posted in each Kids club on the rules. So I decided I would pay extra and go to a different location in Folsom. FOLSOM 11-23-11 Until I had another incident at the kids club in Folsom. When I brought my daughters into kids club there was a little girl with a smoothie. I asked the employee to make sure she doesnt get near Lily and she said, her mother was in the other room. I proceeded to go upstairs and workout, and once I started the treadmill I felt sick to my stomach. I went back downstairs to the kids club and the little girl was still there drinking her smoothie while watching a video on t.v. I told the employee that I was very uncomfortable with this situation. I told her that I thought there was no food or drinks allowed in kids club. She said, " no there isnt and went to the little girl and I told me she would take care of it. I took my kids out and talked to Andrea one of the managers and withdrew my membership immediately. It is really disappointing that CFF staff cant even abide by their own club rules. I posted this because I want to warn other Moms who have kids with severe food allergies that these two California family fitness gyms are not safe!!

This location has pretty good facilities but they get very crowded around rush hour. The locker room is a mess and feels pretty dirty but thats not generally a big issue. I rejoined the club and just canceled today after asking what I need to do to cancel at the front desk about 2 weeks ago. CFF makes the cancellation process difficult with fine print in the contract that the sales folks dont cover with you. There is a requirement that you cancel several days before your last payment and you make one final payment before youre free. Cancellation must be in writing and submitted only between 9 and 5 Monday - Friday. You can sign up anytime on any day but cancellation must follow these strict terms. Then you have to pay one additional payment! Thats just adding insult to injury, for me.

Great gym, I like that its not one big room, and has different sections, I dont feel exposed like I do in one room gyms. They have a womens section, but it is not labeled as such, and men do use it. The only thing I have to say is, I wish they offered wifi.. about every gym in America offers it, and Im so confused as to why they wouldnt

This gym is over-sized, it doesnt get the business that it is set up for. The hot tub is barely warm which pisses me off. I dont even break a sweat sitting in that thing. They dont deep clean the cardio equipment, so its gross. They offer wifi but its very weak and have to reconnect to it repeatedly.

This gym does offer Wi-Fi, I rarely see people clean the equipment they use. Staff is great and they have a bunch of free classes!
