Ive been going to Ballys for about 2 years now. The one in El Segundo Blvd in Hawthorne, the one in Torrance near Del Amo and now the San Pedro one up on Western at The Terraces. Today I write this review because last Thursday I went there and saw FRESH LIGHT BROWN FECES the size of a silver dollar on the tile floor next to the toilet in the mens bathroom, in the Handicapped stall. TODAY, 6 DAYS LATER... THE FECES IS STILL THERE!! Its turned dark brown and it has not even been wiped or mopped up in the slightest bit. Its still the size of a silver dollar. I COMPLAINED TO MANAGEMENT (READ REVIEWS BELOW). I filled out a stupid "out of service tag" in english. I was told it will be given to the cleaning crew. The cleaning crew is non-english speaking illegal aliens who cannot speak, read or write english. Great. Im sure that FECES on the floor will be there for many days more to come. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. DISGUSTING. REVOLTING. Shameful! I HOLD MY BREATH when I walk from Swimming pool, through the bathrooms to the showers. I never could understand why at only 10:00 A.M. that place could be so dirty and so smelly (after being "cleaned" the night before). Now I realize this place really is never cleaned. I see people there wearing no shoes or flip-flops in the bathrooms, showers and Sauna, swimming pool and jacuzzi. Who would not wear foot protection in such a filthy place? The illegals who "clean" that place never clean it. The bathrooms, changing rooms and showers are rotting with filth. READ REVIEWS BELOW! IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO COMPLAINS ABOUT REVOLTING FILTH IN THIS PLACE!!

2 years ago I joined bally to get in shape for a 3 day marathon I was going to participate in. One of the nicest employees there, Arron(manager) was very helpful. He helped us/showed us the correct way to work out. He is why the review get 2 stars, otherwise it would have received a 0! I just called to reinstate my membership and was given the worst customer service of my life!!! A "Caroline" (I think this is what she said her name was) needs to go back to training for her rude service! I was inquiring about a special deal that I received via mail. She asked for my name and then said pls. Hold, after waiting for 6-7 minutes she came back on the line and said "come in and somebody will help you". I explained to her that I live 30 minutes away from this location and if she could do me a favor and check on the computer if the deal was still valid and not expired. She said "NO, Im busy" Since when did the person at the front desk become the busy person that doesnt have time to answer a question. Lets just say I will not be ruturning to the Palos Verdes location! Thanks Caroline.

I was told I could cancel the training sessions whenever I wanted to. When I tried to cancel it because my trainers left and I was ignored by the other ones I was told that I was going to be charged half of what the remaining contract was! I lost my debit card a few weeks ago and canceled it but forgot to give the gym my new card number I received over 10 phone calls in half an hour on my cell the day my payment was due. Not to mention a few calls at work, and Im sure when I get home I will find a list of calls there as well! I reiterate that my payment was due Today! Not a week ago! Today! The service I have received from here and Corporate is absolutely ridiculous!

I was an old ballys member through a family member at this location. I attempted to use a 3 day pass and the "General manager" AJ refused to allow me to use it because "I once was a member" I explained to him that the membership was through ballys. All the while I was explaining this to him and pleading my case. He refused to give me his full attention, taking other peoples questions while I was talking and telling me "Keep talking I am listening". After he started rolling his eyes I knew that I wasnt getting anywhere. This guy needs to lose the whole Alpha male bravado. Its okay, Ill just go workout at a cleaner gym & save myself a staph infection.

Horrible. They took money from my account that I didnt not authorize. To top it off Jose called me over 22 days ago saying he would cancel my membership per request and NEVER DID and I still dont have my money. Horrible place. Nice staff at first...then once they have your credit card information, things change. Please give me my money back and cancel my membership as requested over 22 days ago. Which by the way was less than 24 hours after I signed up. I would lastly like to inquire why LA Fitness would employ such incompetent staff and it be ok?

You will realize how pathetic this gym is. Take my advice and visit the gym in Torrance, Hawthorne OR fort Lauderdale for Christ sakes. Speaking from experience I have done so. Considering how dirty the bathrooms are kept I can only imagine just how unpleasant the pool is.. yikes. Oh & the over weight guy working at the check in desk is just annoying because I can understand half of what he says. Not saying they need a cute girl or at someone whos inspirationally fit greeting at the front desk....ACTUALLY I AM!!! LOVE PEDRO BUT COMON MAN

Had enjoyed my LA Fitness membership in the Midwest and was excited that there was a club so close to where I live. However, I have been very disappointed in the quality of this club. Dumbbells under 45lb are never available, stair steppers are never available, and all of the equipment is VERY old. The locker room is dirty and the pool does not seem very clean. (Got in it once and have decided not to repeat.) looking for a new gym but so far have no been having much success. I may just be running for a while.

This gym is dirty!!! I dont know how they are still open for business. This facility needs to be upgraded, the equipment is very old machines are constantly out of service. I dont understand why LA Fitness hasnt upgraded this facility, You can smell how dirty itis as soon as you walk in, the facility needs to be shut down ,is hazardous to even go in the jacuzzi, Sauna and Pool Very dirty !!!! Please do something about it its, not fair to the members !!

Agreeing with what others have already mentioned, smell is one of several flaws at this gym... Other than that, I really enjoy working out in the free weights area. I like the old style dumbbells and benches. People are actually working out and lifting heavy at this gym, not like others in the surrounding areas. If you can get by some funky smell( not always) and enjoy lifting, this is the place for you!

Its an old gym (late 90s) so it has no air purification system (most font, the use chemicals to improve the smell) This is DEFINITELY the cleanest gym pool in our area. ...since I mostly use the pool due to injuries I love it... Biggest negative to me? They dont get after the jerks that sit on the equipment using it as a TEXTING STATION rather than a workout station.

The entire place has been remodeled with everything redone including the pool, locker rooms, and all equipment. It is finally a high class gym fitting its location. The staff is much more pleasant and they arent looking at their cell phones every second. They actually greet you when you come in and say good night or good day when you leave. I love working out here now.
