Xochimilco has a very nice mexican-american setting but not as an authentic mexican place..its mostly set for white people looking for a little taste of mexican. The menudo is ok but its missing the "pata" which a lot of mexican like but I guess since they serve mostly white people its ok if they dont add it to their menudo..well overall the food is ok..nothing extrordinary about it..their salsa is raw salsa..i would prefer the cooked salsa but oh well..what they offer would do if I need a quick place for lunch..but I would never ever in my life go there for dinner..the owners wife is a total grump..she has very bad customer service manners, i know she is the owner too, but she should treat every customer in a nice mood since they depend on customers to make their business what they are..she takes for ever to come to your table to take your order or bring you water..she hardly comes to the table to check on..she changes prices on you..not courteous at all...she treats the employees very bad..she is a smart mouth...n I could go on but you got the point..the husband is completely different..he is very nice..constantly checking on tables..even brings you more salsa and tortillas to the table... personally greets you at the door and recommends you a good table...explains to you the contents of the menu..he is nice..nothing compared to his wife...

It seems like every positive review on this place must be from the owners, at least one obviously is. This place is disgusting and a shame. They should get sued just for claiming to be "Mexican food at its best." I love Mexican food more than anyone and I would never go there again, nor recommend it to anyone. When we went we were surprised that the place wasnt condemned! Seriously, avoid this place. Dont let any friends or family go there, not even your worst enemy. We tried it out of curiosity hoping it would be good n we would turn back time if we could to avoid that nightmare. It was embarassing just that they call themselves a Mexican restaurant, I'd rather have taco bell for Mexican food and everyone knows they're not even Mexican food. Worst place to call "Mexican" in the Sacramento area.

All five star reviews are ridiculous. The place is totally mediocre. Not the worst I ever had but pretty bad. The meat taco thing I had was allright but the chili filled with cheese and fried in some kind of dough tasted like it was frozen before. Beans and rice where allright at the most. I would not go there again nor recommend it. The place doesnt look good either. Dim lights. Uncomfortable setting. Waitress was allright. Not alot of people there either. Should have walked out when I walked in and got a first impression. The mint that came with the check was the best part of the whole meal.

My experience was good. Judging by the people dining here, Xochimilco is a favorite for their regulars. I got a super burrito, it was listed under the section that said everything comes with rice, beans, melted cheese and garnish. I was surprised when the burrito was not accompanied with those sides. I asked if it was supposed to have them and my waitress said they come inside the burrito. It was acceptable, but in hindsight I would have gotten tacos with rice, beans, and cheese on the side. They also have a Taco Tuesday special that offers street tacos for $2.75 each or close to that price.

I agree with John This was the worst place we have ate at sense we moved to Sac. we will never eat here again nor recommend the place to anyone. Their tortillas were gross and their beans and meat reminded us of cat food DISGUSTING! we left with our plates still full and were not interested in taking any thing home with us. And Yes I am talking about Xochimilco on the corner of Auburn it was disgusting we were so disappointed for good Mexican food try Arroyos 2381 W. March Lane Stockton CA 95207 they are great

This is our favorite restaurant for Mexican food. Fresh handmade tortillas and best red sauce I have ever eaten. We tried the nachos for the first time and it was HUGE. We shared it and we never do that. Our server is great and always friendly and consistent. Salsa bar always full. If you havent been there you should try it. Xochimilco also has a bar.

Stopped here after work for cocktails. This was our first visit. Very impressed with the Cadillac Margaritas and the Top Shelf Margaritas. Both a must try along with the chips and salsa. Mexican beers on tap and TVS for watching soccer. Prices are reasonable and the service is fast and friendly.

I use Xochimilco as a caterer for many events and all of our participants love it, as do all my coworkers!! Frank is always on time and happy to serve. They make wonderful food, especially guac and tortillas. I am so happy I found them! :) Thanks guys!

I have only been here once for a business event, but the place is pretty sweet. It is way bigger than it looks from the street, and it has a full bar stocked with just about everything! The food is pretty good too.

After a workshop at the Crowne, we headed over for a bite. The portions were great! I had the Chile Colorado and it was super tasty. Would definitely recommend and go there again! It would be worth the drive!

Horrible food, the beans we were served were rotten, and my sons plate of rice n beans looked like the scraped it from another plate. The people are nice but the food was horrible. Ill never eat there again.

Great food, real good salsa bar, Mexican sportsbar/ danceclub theme but very family friendly. Somewhat unfriendly customer service because some staff members are a bit grumpy.

Delicious burrito, chimichanga, crispy tacos, and nachos. They dont bother with that runny nacho cheese. You get real melted cheddar. They accommodate special requests too.
