I left a 5-star review about a year ago but recently some things have changed so Im updating my review. 1. The gym has become too crowded. Sometimes you cant find any available cardio machines or even a little space to stretch. Coming between 4:00pm and 7:00pm is no longer a pleasant experience. Minus one star. 2. If youd like to use a jumping rope, you have to look for a staff member and ask them to unlock the room where they keep jumping ropes. They give it to you in exchange for your ID. When youre done using it, you have to look for a staff member again to give it back to them and get your ID back. They used to keep jumping ropes next to the dumbbells available to everyone at any time. All other gyms still do. This new policy is ridiculous. Minus one star. 3. They used to have a digital scale in the mens locker room but its been gone for over a month now. I asked several different staff members what happened and they all told me "It broke so we ordered a new part for it and it is on its way". Well, its been about 6 weeks and there is still no scale in the mens bathroom. Just buy a new scale $15. WTF. Minus one star. The only reason Im still a member here is because I live very close to it - 5 minutes by walking. Very convenient :)

I was very disappointed with my time swimming with my kids. I was apparently breaking rules that as I looked at the ones posted I surely was not. Sign said be in the presence of your 8 and under child. I was told that I had to be within arms reach for my swimming child. This is nearly impossible when one has 3 kids, 2 that swim and a baby. And then when my daughter needed to nurse I was asked to do so in the bathroom, which would have meant that the 4 of us would have had to leave the warm water to go to the bathroom to feed my daughter. When nursing can and was done discretely. Pretty sad for a place that "promotes healthy families"

Great value, especially if you have kids. Young children can be left in the youth room while you work out, and older kids have multiple options of classes such as swimming, basketball, water polo, etc. During summer there are many activities and camps to choose from as well. The gym equipment is regularly replaced with newer models and there are exercise machines for all types of workouts. Variety of classes are organized for patrons, many of which are free - cycling, pilates, water gymnastics and so on. The Y is a great place if youre not into the "meat market" type of gym and the perfect family club for young and old.

I signed up for a membership about 3-4 months ago with the hopes of getting swimming lessons for myself. I was made aware of the wait list and how I would need to wait for an instructor to become available at the time I desired.....well...I never got anything in those 3-4 months. I followed up by phone every 3 weeks and I was given the same "long wait" excuse. Finally, I was told to email the head of the swimming department. No response. Not even a "hey, I got your email." I was patient enough to wait this long but the lack of response to my email is what really made me furious. Complete lack of professionalism.

for those of us who dont want to be responsible for everyone elses kids - including the mother who complains that she has 4 kids and wants to go nurse and leave the other three unattended, I say THANK YOU FOR ENFORCING THE RULES!!. I like kids, I volunteer for the kids sports program, but it becomes chaos if rules are ignored. Yes, have a healthy family, but part of having a healthy family is being a healthy citizen that doesnt foist their kids on others or leave them unattended. again, thank you Y for enforcing the rules and requiring people to parent their own kids no matter how much they dont want to.

Enjoy taking my kids to swim, but they have no way to track who has passed the swim test, so EVERY time we go they have to retest even afyer I tell them tbey have passed before. The lifeguards offer lame excuses and say they cant recog ize or remember everyone (so why not link it to membership card?), the aquatics mgmt sends me to front desk, and front desk sends me to aquatics. Was given a phone number and email, contacted both and left messages with no response and its been months. Terrible policy, management and response time. If you want to take your kids swimming youd be better off somewhere else

I signed up for membership today after a tour. Ashley and Meagan in membership were very helpful and nice. They were knowlegeable about everything and no question was left unanswered. This location is large and has indoor and outdoor pools. Two hot-tubs. Coffee tea and snacks bar. Different work-out rooms to choose from. Treadmills with tvs and music...you will need to bring your own headphones. Lots of different classes. Showers and lockers. And outside the complex is a beautiful view with lots of greenery. Easy sign up. Friendly helpful people who work here. Very nice modern facility.

I love the Y! Not sure what others dislike. If you sign up for this Y you get into four locations, I pretty much use this one and Hazard. This y has a great cardio room and I like the classes. I wish more of my friends would join the Y because its a way better value with the tons of classes they offer, but I wont leave it just to work out with friends at 24 hour fitness because its that much better. Also I read something below about the womens lockers. They totally redesigned them this Spring.

This is a great place to work out. They have a wide variety of exercise classes (Zumba, Barre, Strengthening, Tabata style, Spinning, Water Aerobics), two pools, a basketball court, a multi-functional court gym, a cardio room and a weightlifting room. They also have a cafe, changing rooms, lockers, and childcare room. The instructors are great and people are friendly here. I also like they way they support community programs.

Ive heard Terrible review from many random patents regarding their swim classes from many people and have seen it myself. When one if my friends posted here about her specific experience it they took it off saying it didnt match with what others were saying. What? Then yesterday I ran into a group of women talking about their bad experiences with the swim classes at the YMCA.

I love this place. This is my gym. My 3yo son loves the day care and I love to be able to workout. He loves the pool and I love that its indoors and keeps him out of the cold. All the equipment is clean and organized. Its always in great working order. And if you dont know how to use something the staff is always willing to show you how!

I have been a member for 6 years. There is so much positive things that is offered! Down side is it is getting too crowded. They keep building and changing while the members live with construction. Its nice but hardly room to swim or exercise. Classes get full and its a rat race..which I am trying to escape! .
