I came back from vacation to find this place open and decided to check it out after work. When you walk in, theres a huge display full of Aveda products, which is what the salon uses, and the ambiance of the place is beautiful. The people at the front desk were super friendly and got me appointments immediately for a haircut and pedicure (the mani/pedi person is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays only). My hair stylist was Nicole, and she did wonders with my hair - she listened to everything I had to say and made some really great suggestions. My pedicurist was Nina - she did an amazing job and was super sweet the entire time. I was so close to falling asleep and didnt realize it was over. The place is a little pricey, but the beauty, the perks (free drinks!), and the quality of service is worth it.

I recently moved to SF from Louisiana, and was dreading going thru the process of finding a new hair stylist, as i can be somewhat particular and pretty much know what i want. After reading the fabulous reviews on Yelp, i called Cetana and got an appointment with Nicole for the next day! My experience was stellar. The atmosphere was very nice and comfortable, not snobby or too uppity! All of the staff members were amazingly nice and accommodating. I really hit the jackpot landing an appointment with Nicole. She is not only awesome at what she does, but shes also a really fun, warm person who is great to talk to. She asked and actually listened to what i liked/didnt like about my hair and made great suggestions. I truly enjoyed my experience at Cetana Salon Spa and look forward to going back in 8-10 weeks!

Alain has been cutting my hair for years now, and I am thrilled that he has opened Cetana Salon in the space formerly occupied by Willow Salon. The new space is gorgeous and twice as big as before. No more walking down the block to use the bathroom! :) Alain is the best-- so sweet and fun to talk to, and a great hair technician/stylist as well. Everyone working there seemed happy to be there, as well. No sullen front desk staff here-- everyone was a pleasure to talk to, and several people introduced themselves and asked if I needed anything while I waited for my appointment in the comfy lounge area. I wish Alain, Daniel, and friends the best as they embark on their new business together! Dont hesitate--book an appointment today. You wont be disappointed.

Just got a fun textured lob (long bob) by Nina! She is amazing and did a great job. I volunteered as a hair model for a class they were doing with their staff and it was a great experience. All the stylists had an amazing end product!Super impressed by the timeliness, cleanliness, and general good vibes. I will definitely refer friends to Nina and be back again.Ernesto taught the hair class and seems pretty amazing as well. He assisted in taking some weight out of my hair and was so precise with the scissors, i felt no snagging or pulling on the hair! He is definitely a very experienced stylist and Id recommend him too.P.S. I got an undercut as part of the new style and its a great way to be able to wear your hair in a ponytail when u have short hair!

5 stars is not enough. I want a LOVE button. Where do I start? I first met Alain 15 years ago, and he has been cutting my hair ever since. He is the best, ever. Not only does he do a fantastic job, but he is such a wonderful person. I always look forward to spending time with him - he is funny, smart, thoughtful, and so great to talk to. I recently moved out of the state, and I am scheming to overlap bay area visits with my haircut schedule. The idea of going to someone new makes me so sad! I am really happy that I was able to see Alain in his own salon before I moved. Cetana is beautiful, every detail is perfect, and you will feel pampered the moment you walk in the door. You wont find a better experience anywhere.

I followed my stylist, Nicholas, here from Stages when it closed. I cant speak for any of the other stylists, but Nick is always attentive, responsive to your needs, and just generally a great conversationalist. His cuts are amazingly detailed, and he shows you ways that you can practically "wash and go." As for the salon itself, the location is great (near a muni stop just off the embarcadero). The ambience is serene and modern. You will be offered a beverage and smock quickly upon entering. My only criticism is the promotion of Aveda cosmetics at the front counter when you go to check out. If youre not careful, youll end up sitting in a chair having lip gloss applied before you know whats happening!

Absolutely the best experience Ive had ever. Ive only been to a Spa a few times in life, but Alexis was an absolute treat. She took the time to actually care about me as a person and ask me questions in order to make sure my experience was personable and enjoyable. This is actually my second time coming here in a week, the first was to drop off and pick up my girlfriend while she was getting a manicure and pedicure. MJ was sweet enough to invite me back to sit next to her while she finished up since I arrived early. She offered me tea and included me in conversation while she finished pampering my girlfriend. Absolutely incredible service all around and I will definitely be back!

My boss and several of her employees all get their hair done here. I have seen the amazing results, with dye, cuts, styles, etc. For Christmas, she gave me a gift card and I went and checked it out. First and foremost, the salon, for being in the city, is so easy to get to! It is absolutely beautiful and the staff is so nice! They are on top of making you truly feel like you are having a spa day, even if its just for a haircut. Nicole dyed and cut my hair. She was so fun and I am so pleased with the results! I have shorter hair and have had some not-so-great hair cuts in the past, but she nailed it! I am totally hooked, and Cetana Salon definitely has me as a dedicated customer!

Many people can cut and color hair, some are talented, but only a few, like Alain at Cetana are true geniuses. If I told you what I really thought, youd think its impossible, but he is incredible. He knows how to cut your hair so the shape is great if you want to blow it out or just go natural. When its time to go back, the shape is still there, your hair is just longer and still looks good. Not many stylists can do that! Hes equally gifted with color. Whether your color to be weird for fun or just gorgeous, he can do it all. Ive been going to him for 5 years, and would follow him anywhere, but OMG, his new salon is so beautiful! Congratulations Alain and Daniel!
