I had initially reviewed this place with an "Excellent" but I unfortunately need to change it. The gym still has great facilities, but when it comes to customer service theyre terrible. I brought in my Australian roommate with one of my "Bring a friend for a day" passes. There were two people at the counter and both werent bust. One told me to wait for the other and we waited 15min until we were cross examined and told that the passes were only for people from the area (my roommate is but has an accent) and that I needed to talk to the employee who signed me up for the gym. Unbelievable. Then my personal trainer, who was otherwise awesome, gave away the time slot he and I had agreed upon (I had gone to 4 of them) and tried to give me another time. Then he was unrelenting that I buy more sessions. He apologized but pushed the next week to have me buy more again. This on top of him missing one of our sessions was enough for me to call it quits with him. The facilities at this gym are top of the line. Its too bad its run so poorly that it doesnt matter.

I paid them thousands of dollars over the years, yet rarely used their gyms. I blame only myself for that, but the bottom line is my payments to them over several years were pure profit. But when I cancelled my membership, they had the nerve to demand I pay for 2 more months *after* I cancelled. Then they added another months worth of "late fees" and sent the account to collections when I disputed the charges and refused to pay. I emailed and spoke with the manager of the Montgomery Street location, Deborah Newman, and requested that in light of my years of being the ideal customer they waive the remaining charges. It wouldnt cost them a penny and would create tremendous goodwill to let me leave as a happy customer. Nope, nothing doing -- these leeches will suck every penny they can from you. On principle I vow they will never see another dime from me. Unless you like giving money away and getting nothing in return, I suggest you find another gym.

I feel like this place is probably only worth it if you can get it dirt cheap. They constantly change the app, the sign in, the classes. You get locked out of your account, locked out of being able to go to classes based on whatever the latest change is -- and theyre ALWAYS changing something. With me, they changed my account number against my wishes -- and then tried to charge me for getting a new sign in card? Broken bathrooms not fixed forever. Weird gross stains in the steam room never fixed -- even after they "remodeled." If you want to set aside a few hours a week just to keep up with how to get into the gym or go to a class you want. Congratulations! You have a ton of time to waste and youve found the perfect gym!

I was a member here during 2012 and came about 4 times a week. Compared to 24 hour fitness, this gym is leaps and bounds better, cleaner, and versatile with classes. Due to its location in the financial district, Crunch can and will get quite crowded after work. Expect to wait for a treadmill on the upper level. If youre into boxing, look for classes taught by Dan, if hes still there. These classes arent cardio boxing classes, these are true sparring/drilling/endurance training sessions which go well beyond an hour. His classes are more hardcore than several dedicated boxing gyms Ive belonged to in the past.

I had to discontinue my Crunch membership when I moved to a neighborhood not close to any Crunch location, which was a huge bummer since I really did like Crunch. Im not a big "social workouts" person, so I didnt take advantage of the classes that much (although there are SO many, and the few I took -- a spinning class and a yoga class -- were good experiences). I did feel very much at home, though, to do my own personal workouts. When I suffered a knee injury, it was my crunch trainer who actually help me get better and correct the bad form that had caused the injury in the first place.

The worst gym in USA so far. Paid $25 and couldnt use their wifi as I wasnt a member.... There was no music in this place or it was very quiet so I had to train with no music as the conaction In the building is very bad so no mobile data either. There are much better gyms in San Francisco like sf fitness much bigger great music, wifi everywhere at least 5times bigger. There werent enough machines in crunch gym very limited. I wouldnt recommend

Just went for my first time this morning. Walked in, receptionist was very friendly, and Andre, the class instructor was nails! Great class, and the participants in the class were focused on their workout, but helpful in pointing me in the right direction as a newby. Instructor Andre followed up with me afterwards to check in and tell me the next class was on Thursday. I was pleased with the quality of workout.

THE WORST PLACE IN US. This is the worst place to be in. Mean employee, nasty talking and disrespectful. The management is confused and misleading. There is no parking in this place. Good luck finding parking close to it, and after you all frustrated about parking situation you come to the place full of frustrated mean individuals. Avoid at all costs!

Im so happy with Crunch, specifically the New Montgomery location. I belonged to it years ago but things are much better now. Gym is super clean, great equipment, friendly staff, great trainers, cool classes and more. A million times better than 24Hour Fitness and price its ok, I just hope they dont increase prices again. time to workout!

You can find a gym on every corner in SF but the people that work here make this my favorite gym in the finincial district for sure. Clean machines, great classes, solid free weight section, separate floor for cardio, free towel service and staff that actually wants to help you reach your goals. Ill see you there.

Ive been a member here for three years - really love it! I like the trainers and the front desk staff is usually nice (theres only one guy who isnt). Super convenient location, clean and good classes.

Good selections of weights, large locker room. The place is pretty dead on weekends, which I love. You can get a California Freedom membership too, which gives you all-access to California gyms.

Good gym for business travelers located near several major hotels. Feels crowded. Good enough equipment to get through a workout but not for serious powerlifters or weightlifters

Convienent location close too work but can be a little too crowded during workdays. I recommend going off peak hours and now they have Bliss Spa products for use.

Lots of natural light, which is a big plus for me. I go here mainly for the fun classes. The equipment is ok. Not new but definitely not old.

This gym used to be really good, but now all they ever play is disgusting top-40 rap music. I dont go to the gym to hear degrading crap.

Decent assortment of classes. Love spinning with Michael on Tuesdays at 6:45 pm. Locker rooms get super crowded.

So far, this place has been nothing but great. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews.
