Recently I took my 1997 Acura TL to LA Smith & Sons to have a repair done. My car had been hit by a heavy piece of road debris, possibly a piece of concrete, while we were driving on the freeway – it was night and hard to identify exactly what struck us. The front windshield was smashed and the windshield frame badly dented. The repair was done in a timely fashion – 2-3 days. The repair was PERFECT. The windshield was replaced, it was impossible to tell where the frame had been damaged, and the roof was repainted impeccably. The one problem that emerged was that, in the course of fixing the windshield, the front passenger seat must have been used for leverage. The electronic controls for raising and lowering the seat back were damaged, and the small control lever on the side of the seat was missing. When I spoke to the owner about fixing this problem, he initially questioned whether his men could have caused the problem. He stated that his men were conscientious and always let him know when these kinds of problems came up in the course of repairs. I told him that in this case I knew that the seat had been used and damaged because it was now in a reclined position where it is never left. My wife (my usual passenger) confirmed this. Even though it was simply my word against his repairman’s, the owner went ahead and had his men fix the seat. They even had to re-order the parts twice to get it done. I very much appreciated his trusting me and repairing the seat at no expense to me and putting the car right once again. I have heard good thing over the years about this business, and my experience has completely confirmed these good reports. To get all this done I had to return to their store a number of times. Their office manager, Jennifer, is very kind and professional, and made the experience pleasant. She is a great asset to their business. I recommend this company wholeheartedly. Sincerely, Elliot Wagner

I got into a car accident in May 2009, and I brought my car to this place for inspection. They said the inspection is free if I get my car fixed by them, and $300 if I I choose another vendor to get the repair done. I had gone to another body shop before this one but chose not to go there because they charged storage fee. I asked if there are going to be any other fees, and they ensured that there will be no additional charge other than that $300 possible inspection fees. I wanted to leave the car there for a few days because my insurance company wanted to assess the damage as well. LA Smith and Sons said it is ok and I can keep my car there. After the insurance companys assessment, I decided to not repair the car and told them I would pay them $300 for their assessment and take my car. Then, they printed out an invoice for $700!! And they said the $400 is for the "storage" charge for my car. I told them I didnt hear about such charge when I brought the car in, but they insisted they wouldnt give my car key back unless I pay $700. Kirk Smith, the owner of this body shop was the person I talked to. I ended up paying the whole $700 and reported them to BBB. We then exchanged several arguments through BBB, and they said we should have known about the storage fee because there was a sign outside the shop. OK, if there was really a sign or anything inside or outside of the shop that implies that there would be storage fees, how come none of us--my husband, the insurance companys inspector(I double-checked with him), and I--did not see it anywhere? The BBB dispute was never resolved, and I didnt want to deal with it anymore so I stopped there.... Horrible experience.

NOTHING BUT CROOKS THERE!! expect to be charged 2.5x market price, not see your car for 3 weeks, then have it in worse condition after those 3 weeks than BEFORE you took it in. I had another shop then have to repair the damage LA smith and his criminal gangs did. it ended up costing a fortune that its headed toward Small claims lawsuit !! so if you want your repairs to end up in court too, then take it to these low lives, theyll gladly take your $$$, rip you off beyond your worst nightmare, your time, gas, headache and then hatch it out before a judge! AND STILL HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER MECHANIC TO REPAIR ALL THE INTENTIONAL HOLES AND TRANSMISSION DAMAGES THEY DUG !! these pathetic crooks need to be shut down!! theyve had numerous complaints against them at Better Business Bureau. Nothing but damages they will do to your auto.

They have an excellent customer service and They also do the same day estimation for my vehicle damage which is an appointment needed by other body shop. Special thanks to Daniel for that excellent customer service.
