After having shoulder length hair, I came here to get a fauxhawk. I brought multiple pictures. The stylist would not give me her opinion on whether I could pull off short hair, etc. She said she was afraid to cut off my hair because, "What if I didnt like it and was mad at her?" I should have left then. I knew I wanted it short, and just wanted to confirm with someone who was supposedly an expert in hair that it would be a flattering cut. She cut it and made me look like an idiot. It wasnt even reminiscent of the photos I brought in. It looked like a 60s unisex bowl cut. After I told her I looked ridiculous and I wanted it fixed, she sent me home and told me to make another appointment if I "decided I really didnt like it." Nobody could have liked that mess of a haircut. I have never been more disappointed in a hair stylist. I went immediately over to The Chop Shop and got exactly what I wanted.

She invited me for the works and I have been going there for several years now .I like the atmosphere, and its cleanliness. Sydney has always done a wonderful job with my colors , highlights , cuts and flat iron on my hair , I love going to Lavish Salon. They always greet me when I come in. They make me feel pampered and not hurried, they want me to be satisfied with my experience. That why i keep coming back to Lavish Salon, Once you find the right place its hard to switch. Denise B. Not sure how some of these other people ended up having such a negative experience. I am a male 36 years of age and went in for the first time today. I went in with a good attitude and received good attitude back. Makes me wonder about the others exchange of attitude. I guess some of us need lots of attention and when we dont get it we cry like a baby. Everyone in the salon had a great attitude and it felt lively. Will definitely be going back. I saw Jemini who did dread maintenance and trimmed my sideburns, etc. Wonderful experience!

Love, love love this place. I live in Monterey and its totally worth the drive to Santa Cruz to have Debs attention and care. Shes got style to spare, lots of ideas and she pays attention to my style preferences (even when I am not aware of them!) The salon was easy to find, and has a hip, relaxed, ambiance. Great products and stellar service in a chic environment (but not too fussy), who could ask for more?

Two fo my favorite people on the planet work here- and I wouldnt trust my head or my daughters head to ANYONE else! Berit is THE BEST childrens hair stylist ever- great with children- and Monica has been doing my hair for years- not only gets it right but gets it better than right.

Ive been going to Lavish for many years, and my two teenagers do as well. We love Lavish, and irrepressible Deb the owner, so much that we stayed put when our beloved hair stylist left to open her own studio. Now we go to Monica, who we like just as much. Very happy!!!
