Every story has two sides, here is my account of My Nightmare Move by ATTENTION TO DETAIL MOVING. After interviewing 3 companies I chose Attention to detail because their appraiser presented the most professional appraisal experience. The appraiser came to my house and went room by room with his tablet entering in the estimated number of boxes, and types of furniture that needed to be moved. He didn’t hurry, and it would not surprise me if it took us 30 minutes to go room to room and discuss each situation. I told him that I would not have the keys to the new house until probably 5 pm on the night of the move. He suggested it would take about 4 hours to load my 3 bedroom condo and a couple of hours to offload it. He suggested that he would need a 24ft truck and suggested 5 guys. He mentioned that they charge “double drive time” for the use of the truck. I told them that the house would be sold and I needed to move out that day. On the day of the move I was prepared. I had boxed up all but the unusually shaped items (tall stand up lamp). I even removed my flat screen TV’s from the wall and boxed them up in special flat screen boxes that I purchased. I took picture off the walls, and boxed them as well. The movers showed up on-time. The move began uneventfully, and although I was surprised that none of the five guys were “big” guys., they seemed to be handling everything fine. Eventually they struggled with one large item that was upstairs, and this ate up a lot of time and took some nice chunks out of the wall. 6 hours later they had approximately 1/2 of my stuff in the truck, and they discovered that the one truck was not going to be enough. The new owner of the house came by and demanded that I vacate so they moved all my stuff into the alley way and drove the loaded truck to the new home 15 minutes away. As a result, I ended up leaving my mom in the alley, in the dark, guarding my stuff. About 3 hours later they returned for the remainder of my stuff. Finally all loaded, they got to my new house at 11:15 in the evening. At just before midnight, my new neighbors were giving me the evil eye so I told the movers I was done, just leave the boxes in the garage. All told, a few items were broken, the handles on my refrigerator were not put back on, I had many boxes in the garage that were supposed to be placed back in the house, and some wood flooring was scratched ( BE AWARE - the contract says that they are not responsible for scratching wood floors). The move of my 3 bedroom condo to my new place 15 minutes away took 11 HOURS- and they didn’t finish. Ultimately I blame the appraiser for under-estimating the amount of truck that was needed, however the movers should have realized this when they got to my house, arranged for more truck. AS A FINAL INSULT, because they didn’t have enough truck, they ended up taking longer than they estimated and they charged me OVER $1,000 more than the estimate. I contacted the company to see about an adjustment to the bill more than 3 or 4 times, and they kept giving the run around. To date, over 2 months later, they still have not addressed my concerns. Do yourself a favor, choose another company for you move.

Moving guys were absolutely fantastic - 5 stars. Customer service by Nikki was atrocious - 0 stars. The only reason Im placing a 5 star review is because the movers Angel, Tom and Mike were so professional, attentive to detail and efficient they saved it. Starting with the movers - they made every moment of the move a surprisingly pleasant experience. Each mover was very respectful- calling me sir, never complaining and working diligently with a smile on their face. They were also very courteous and respectful with my wife, listening to her detailed instructions and executing them perfectly. I also appreciated the fact that no one was just standing around like you see at many establishments or other companies. Each mover was working diligently and if they felt they were slow they asked what else they could move to keep themselves busy. Nothing got damaged - excellent work! Now to the customer service - very unprofessional. First of all we arranged for 3 movers for 2 hours and only two movers originally showed up with a smaller truck. This was quickly remedied by Angel so we got another mover with another truck. But before they even showed up, Angel called to inform us he was on his way. We asked if we could push the him and his crew back 1 hr so we would be better prepared. He said he had to call the office to check and would get back to us. He got back to us within a few minutes after speaking to Nikki and said they could push back the 1hr. We were very appreciative. Next thing you know 20 minutes later, Nikki is calling us and stating that we have to pay for the additional hour they are not working. We said absolutely not since we asked if they could be pushed back and they said no problem. She started arguing with us over the phone and said it was their policy. Then she somehow tried to give us 20 min of the hour they werent there and charge us 40 min. Then she finally said she never gave them the go ahead to be an hour behind and said they should be working. When we informed her that they werent there, she told us to call them. Are you kidding me? She needed to do her job and call them and we advised her of that which she ultimately did. Ultimately it sounds like she screwed up and tried to pass the blame to us and the movers. The final straw was this morning - my wife gets a call from Nikki saying "this is Nikki from Attention to Detail Movers, how did I lie to you?!" What are we...12 years old? That call didnt last long. Overall: Movers 10 stars Customer service 0 stars A little bit of CSR training would probably go a long way to making this business even more successful. Thanks to the CEO for serving our country (Veteran Owned Business)

Seriously I do not know how I would have done a move from Simi Valley to Northern California without this company. Their pack and move package was amazing. My move was set up directly by the owner, Colt, who was awesome and made me feel like a VIP. We had the "Captain" Xrysto, who knows how to make the guys hustle. We had Tex, a true Texan gentleman. Matthew, the poor guy who got yelled at on the tail end of the move because a lady decided she didnt like the moving truck, who handled it respectfully and calmly. Vincent, who carefully packed the bedrooms and made sure nothing was left behind. And Anthony who was pretty much everywhere all at once. A late to the party packer/loader was Mike (I think) a really wonderful young man who hustled to get us finished packing before the rains hit. To give you a concept of how much these wonderful guys had to do, I have two small children, a computer crazy techy husband, plus myself and three dogs and their stuff. We filled two 24 foot trucks, which they then drove through crazy rain storms 370 miles, and then unpacked into a house with a detached garage, a weird narrow porch, with steps up, in the pouring rain. They handled this crazy move with a smile, bounce in their step, and great humor. Some of the Os on the boxes were made into smiley faces, that make me grin every time I reach one of them to unpack. They worked hard, got everything handled, and made sure we were 100% satisfied before they left. All of my breakable collectors items made it in one piece! Glass furniture, wood furniture, no damage, not even a drop of rain on them, they were so well wrapped in plastic. PLUS they helped take away the boxes from stuff I was able to unpack while they were unloading. Amazing full service, Ill never stop recommending this company.
