Great experience moving from Oxnard, CA to Hot Springs Village, AR (over 1700 miles) using ABF Freight / U-Pack. Sure, moving yourself is not easy, but we knew that upfront and did it to save money. Their website and phone assistants were very informative and helpful. ABF Freight / U-Pack saved us about $500 over competitor PODS. We used 3 Re-Lo Cubes (thought we would need 2!), and all were quite full. We packed well and had no broken or damaged items despite some minor shifting of boxes. We hope to never move again, but I learned following lessons which might be helpful for others: 1) U-Pack did provide me with 3 sets of E-Track sercuring "D" rings for securing heavy items (like a refrigerator and dresser), but it took extra effort on my part to make that happen. Insist on it if you are moving big, heavy items. 2) When calling about Re-Lo Cube drop-off or pick-up times it is best to call after 9 AM. The truck dispatchers are very busy first thing in the mornings, and even if you do get thru to them they will likely ask you to call back later. 3) It is better to order one more Re-Lo Cube than you THINK you will need, than to figure that out later and then order another one. They will not charge you for an unused cube, but will charge you for a second cube delivery. We thought we would need 2 cubes, but ordered 3, and we used all 3! If I have to move again I would do it the same way. I highly recommend ABF Freight / U-Pack!

Moving West coast to East coast, 1,100 miles, 2 bedrooms, 11 linear feet of a trailer, plus one month storage, $3,000. The good: the whole experience was smooth, no hitches, no surprises, cheaper than competition. The not so good: the load was seriously shaken during transportation, so some items that werent packed carefully enough got damaged. Some screws in the furniture got unscrewed by the shaking! Dont save money leaving things superficially protected! Bottom line: I recommend U-Pack. I also recommend to pay special attention to packing and loading having in mind that your goods will be seriously shaken during transportation.

Excellent phone support, on time deliveries. drop off, storage and pickup. I have moved nationally and internationally and this was the most reliable, smoothest move we have ever made. I highly recommend this route, especially if you are unsure of actual movein times etc. Very user friendly.
