We did an extensive tapeless video shoot in San Diego. Due to unforeseen circumstances we were only able to transfer the footage to one external drive without making a back-up before erasing the camera cards (not what I would normally do). When we finally were able to perform a back-up the files were gone off the original external drive. Panic! Several data recovery places we contacted quoted us 10-15 day wait times and exorbitant prices. I couldnt wait as my client was asking how the footage turned out. Luckily we called Mike at Computer Network IT Repair LA (now Magic Data Recovery). He inspected the drive immediately and found the files within 2 hours. He retrieved all the quicktime files and transferred them to another driver. Great service, great communication, great price, and to top it all off, Mike is the nicest guy youll ever meet. Great and honest company in LA. I was a bit distraught when my home laptop totally died on me. It had everything on there including projects Ive been working on for work along with my invaluable photos an videos of my daughter. I didnt know where to start but my co-worker knew of a place that did jobs for the bank I work for.The location is convenient as its right off the 101 freeway and has a free parking lot. its actually located where the nice office buildings are off the freeway and no where near the "questionable" part of town. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and it helped that they do free quotes. I heard most others charge an assessment fee. Overall a very positive experience that I hope to not have to go through again. Data was fully recovered from my hard drive and I would definitely recommend these guys!

I was trying to surprise my wife with sending her pictures of our trip to Cancun, but as I was transferring them from my memory card to my laptop... KABOOM!!! Everything went black on me. Before I could surprise my wife, I called them for data Recovery and they were able to help me retrieve all my data! I was able to recover all my pictures and give my wife an amazing slide show of our pictures!
