In terms of machines, they have the same stuff as Planet Fitness. The showers and gym area is clean, so no complains about that part. If that is all you care about, it is all good. The bad part: Very aggressive and rude marketing techniques. When you sign up, they want you to come in for a fitness assessment. By that they mean, they will berate you to tell you that you dont know anything about working out. There is one guy in particular who will tell you, he is the director of this facility. Mr. "I am the Director and I played college baseball" will haggle with you about how much you are willing to pay for your trainer. If you say no to him, he gets really pissed off. Apart from that, it is the only 21st century gym along with 24 hour fitness (across the road) which does not have Wifi. When you join, it is something they will tell you they are getting next week!.. but I am waiting.. has been 5 months.. May be they are waiting for Wifi to be installed by aliens... AC is never on during summer, so it gets really hot in there.

Gym is spacious and usually not too crowded with decent kids club. Ive been a member for 2-3 years and consistently go to the 3 San Jose facilities and Sunnyvale facility. I have noticed diminishing returns at all 4 facilities. - There pools typically have 3 lanes which is small. They also teach kids to swim in one lane which makes the pool too crowded to do laps. I take issue with this because this gym for adults and should not be run as a YMCA or community rec. center - The area that has the jump up stations, kettle bells and trx stations now has a sign stating it off limits to everyone not receiving 1:1 training sessions. If they want to make this area off limits then they should open a separate area in the gym for general usage. - Kid club hours stop at noon and should be extended

The gym it self is fantastic. All of the free weight and machines look to be in perfect condition. Ive never had a problem with the front door staff, but I do feel the sales people are overly pushy. The trainer acted offended when I didnt want to purchase trainer sessions, but ever since she has been friendly to me. Only gripe that Ive got is, I have never been to the facility when the pool wasnt full, Id love a chance to swim but Ive been at varying hours through out the week // weekend and never saw a lane that was open, or didnt have a bunch of people waiting. This gym does get very busy after 430 pm, plan accordingly! I love coming here and I have been 5 to 6 days a week since February! I dont think you can find a better gym for the price, and month to month without contract can not be beat

(Member for over a year) I really wish zero stars was an option here. City Sports sales members bad mouthing other paying customers to potential new clients is horrible practice. I can promise you by keeping up these standards with your sales team you will continue to lose new customers. You have lost my business going forward. The Valley is small and paying customers are your best marketing contacts, by destroying these connections you are only hurting yourself. Best of luck City Sports, I suggest to other potential clients you look at alternate gym. For feedback to City Sports, I cant count the amount of times paper towels were out, the sinks arent working and the soap completly empty. These key details are what make paying customers stay loyal. -Chris

This club is very much money minded and always on the look out to get more and more money. When I became a member, I was charged a membership registration fee of $99 and was told that this is one time fee. But now whenever I try to avail a new service of the club, they try to add $99 of registration fee. Also, there is a rule of providing one time complementary training which they never do unless members register for a personal trainer with $55 - $65 per session for at least 6-12 months. Here also they add up the $99 separate registration fees. If you guys really have a lot of money and dont know how or where to spend it, then please become a member of this club. Else, there is a fitness 24 right on the opposite side of road for better rates and good services.

This is the first review Ive written. Ive been generally unimpressed, if not offended by the front desk staff. Theyre dismissive and customers seem to be distractions for them. Tonight, the doors were locked 30 minutes before closing; when the front desk attendant was asked why, he responded, "we close in 30 minutes" in a very confrontational way -no apology, no shame, no embarrassment. In the past Ive had the lights turned off early or closing announcements given before their posted hours of operations. Honestly, its pathetic; its not hard to get this right. Try smiling and welcoming your clients and strive to keep the hours your post and around which your patrons plan. Perhaps give 24 Hour a try; theyre just across the street.

The worst gym experience ever in my life. Equipments are ok but manager is the worst manager they can ever hire. At the subscription time they were very nice and co operate with us but after that their behavior totally changes toward us. There was an issue with my guest id and manager and the employ both stopped me inside the restroom and manager forced me to ask sorry that was so humiliating and insulting. I couldnt take it and ask for cancellation. I didnt even said any wrong words to him i just refuse to ask sorry. Istead of cancellation ,the manager asked me to get out of gym literally. He is the worst manager i hv ever met city sports should get rid of that manager. He dont have any right to humiliate the customers.

Worst service ever! If you become a member of this sports club , they make you stay as the member for ever. I ve stopped using the facility for around 5 months now & been trying to cancel my membership since then. They say all possible excuses to not cancel my membership. They dont cancel over phone.Whenever you call them they just put your call on hold and never answer back. They want us to visit them in person and the visiting hrs for cancellation is 9am - 5pm. Which is impossible for any working person to make it. Even if you manage to make it they say that the particular person is not available etc. All they do is just keep eating your money.

Customer service I would never wish for anyone. I am a member since 2015 and was trying to get some information adding member to my plan or take new plan for them I was not clear and was trying to double check by asking same question 2nd time to him regarding "Add a Family Member or Friend for $0 Initiation! " email I have got on my personal email. But the person answering my questions said if you ask me 100 times my answer would be same there is no offer. YOU HAVE TO PAY! Thanks for clarifying my doubts in a most polite way possible. I wish I find new gym soon so I cancel this asap.
