Are you looking for an expert technician or an expert guide for your European car? Ralph was both and more!! I went to European Auto Works after reading Yelp reviews for a very peculiar problem with my VW Jetta. The car engine was tested by Sunnyvale VW and they found nothing wrong with it though I was constantly getting a red light on panel. And more importantly, they were just closed to understanding the issue! But Ralph was a savior. He spent considerable amount of time with me test driving my car and explaining his hypothesis. He also looked through the old papers and dug out some useful info that was not done at Sunnyvale VW. After test drive he was certain that there was an issue with engine and he also suggested that I get it repaired at authorized service station since the engine was still under extended warranty. He put the engine to test and gave me a report that clearly indicated the fault in it. Finally VW had to give in and they had to replace my engine free of cost. All thanks to Ralph and his team.

Once again, Ralph saves the day for me and my 2004, 996 C4S. I had another Porsche tech work on my car shortly after I took ownership of it. I started bringing it to Ralph shortly thereafter, and poor Ralph is actually fixing more of the other Porsche mechanics mistakes then he is with actual problems on the 996! Honestly, I read all the horror stories of 996s and in reality, I was relieved when I found out it was the mistakes of the OTHER tech that was the major cause of my issues (Human Error). I believe a lot of rumors about bad experiences with 996s is that people dont take them to good mechanics. Ralphs response at EAW is conservative and cautious, he diagnoses correctly and addresses the problem, before STAMPEDING into opening up the engine or tearing anything apart that doesnt NEED to be torn apart. Great work Ralph and Crew, these are my only guys that touch my Porsche.

Great for folks like me who love their cars and want to know about all the details and exactly what is being done and why. They are not inexpensive, but folks who would go to a dealer instead are making a mistake. The dealer WILL be more expensive, and for older "classic" cars will not have a clue. The dealer could not solve a transmission problem our car had since new...17 years of trying. Once we went to EAW, they found and fixed the problem. They were very patient and just kept at it until they figured it out. Something no one else would do. We expect to get another 17 years out of the car now :)

After 10 years of bringing servicing two of my VWs, Ralph and the team has done it again and provided excellent service! After taking my Jetta to the dealer (only because it was free with my TDI good will money) for a shifting problem, they proposed to tear down my transmission and try to fix my clutch/transmission---charging me $2500-$3000. I called Ash, he offered a second opinion at no charge. Sure enough, your skilled technicians diagnosed the problem and found the resolution to be a simple adjustment to my shifter cable. Now its good as new for $300! Thank you! Sean

Called in to see if I can get a free estimate because my car did not pass smoke test, they said yes. They I bring my car in, they asked me to sign a paper that estimates it takes $120 to fix the car. I though its reasonable and they also told me it it costs more than that, they will let me decide if I still want to fix it. After inspection, they give me an estimate around $700. I decided not to fix it, but they still charged $160 labor fee when I came to pick up. Why dont you be honest about your pricy estimate?

We were one of the first customer(s) at European Auto Works when they moved to Sunnyvale. I can still recall meeting Ralph (and his wife & little one). It was a Saturday and he gave me a tour of the shop. My wifes BMW has been serviced exclusively by them since 2009. This recognition is long overdue. If you need a local shop that you can trust & have peace-of-mind afterwards then give them a try. Cliff just serviced the transmission fluid for us & the total experience was perfect (btw, good pricing is a given).

The work they performed was quick, friendly and professional. They also offered what i feel was valuable advice and insight into the overall health of the vehicle and helped me determine what next course of action to take. It meant less money for them in the short term but ill be sure to take future business there.

My poor little Audi was making an unnatural noise and so I took it to the European Auto works as they specialize in my German car. They were able to quickly diagnose the problem with the throwout bearing and although tranny work takes a while they finished in 3 days. I was thinking a week.

Have been taking my car there from before I could legally drive. My dad has been going to them since they were in Mountain View. There is no place better and more knowledgeable then Ralph and his team. His prices match his expertise and usually knows more then the dealer.

What a joke. $53 to fix a flat tire? If you want to do the work, just say so.

If you have the money to go here go to the dealer instead.
