I usually take my car to another Audi shop in Tahoe City but decided to give Avant Werks a try and I am so far regretting it. They performed an oil change and the bill was $181. I pay $88 at German Auto! Looking at the invoice Avant Werks charges $22 for a filter compared to $9 at German Auto. Also labor was $46 compared to German Auto $25. Along with overcharging they add injection cleaner($26) and oil additive?($20). Oh and oil disposal fee? Noticed my car is leaking oil too. Nice folks there and they do wash your car but its just not worth all the extra $.

I thought I needed new breaks, and was prepared to spend a bunch of money. Several people told me I needed them... after a thorough exam, Andrew said breaks were fine, but gave me some ideas for getting the 83 VW Westfalia into better shape. Ill definitely be back once I follow his other recommendations (getting new tires so we can see how its really running). Exceptional customer service from both Jessica at the desk (I called about 4 times, was 45 minutes late for my appointment, and was super annoying Im sure- but she was very patient and kind to me :))

My 01 Audi allroad was treated like royalty here. It has suffered an oil leak for a while, and they not only properly identified the leak(s), but steam cleaned the entire engine bay and made it look like a new car again. They even cleaned my floor mats :) Andrew knows exactly what he is talking about and is a true enthusiast. If you love your car, then dont look anywhere else to have it serviced. The shop is clean and spacious and has a great waiting room with a comfortable leather couch and a sweet old MG.

Excellent service and great quality! I have an older VW Jetta and my vehicle and I were treated just as well as the newer more expensive Audis, Porsches, and Mercedes. Drew and the awesome staff at Avant Werks have more than earned all my future business. Cant say enough good things about they way I was treated and how I left feeling very positive about the whole encounter and repair.

Drew was willing and able to help me when my Volvo XC70 started to run poorly. My son needed to drive to the Bay Area to catch an international flight. It was Friday afternoon and Avant Werks was very busy. Drews diagnosed the problems quickly, made the necessary repairs and sent us on our way. Without his help he would not have made it to the plane. I definitely recommend Avant Werks.

It is so nice to have a really good Audi shop in town so we do not have to go to Reno or Sacramento. Because we were from out of town, Drew took our VW Jetta TDI into the shop when Avant Werks was supposed to be closed and gave us an idea of what we faced on repairs. He ordered the needed part that afternoon and had the car ready on the next available business day. The repairs were just what the car needed and the cost was reasonable. Hard to beat that kind of service.

The new car information you receive after a service is a nice touch, photographs that show areas the car can be improved gives a clear impression of your cars health. I had a snow chain snap on the summit that took out my break line and ABS cable. Got a tow into Truckee to Avant and they got me back on the road in no time. Drew and the mechanics were helpful, courteous, and thorough. I recommend this spot to locals and travelers.
