I have been a "regular" at this club for years, and I feel the need to respond to some of the complaints that have been leveled here. (1) If you go at prime-time (roughly 5-8:30pm M-F), then yes, the club can be hot and crowded. The club has a finite amount of physical space, so Im not sure what people expect the staff to do about the prime-time rush. (Should members be forced to queue up to enter the gym after a certain "comfortable" capacity has been reached -- one out, one in?) If you dont like the popularity of the club during prime-time, then go at a different time! (2) The facility itself is maintained quite well. The recent remodel was extensive, and its pretty disingenuous to suggest otherwise: The entire gym was reorganized to make better use of the available space; the flooring was replaced; industrial ceiling fans were installed over the cardio area; the bathroom fixtures were all replaced; many cardio machines were replaced with newer models; new TVs were installed in the free-weight area and the locker rooms; almost all of the club signage was replaced; and, yes, the walls were repainted. (There may also have been other changes that I havent noticed.) (3) I have spent many, many hours in this building, and I have never had an unpleasant experience with the staff. They are responsive, friendly, and professional. (4) Equipment maintenance could definitely use some improvement. At any given time, I would say that 1 out of every 6 cardio machines is broken in some way. Sometimes, months will go by before a machine is repaired. (For what its worth, the strength machines and free-weight equipment are maintained very well.) (5) I have had no problems with the contract/billing policies of 24 Hour Fitness. Nobody likes the "hard sell", but youre unlikely to escape it at any club chain. I actually feel far more respected by 24 Hour Fitness than by one of its competitors, with whom I had an absolutely nightmarish experience (hint: its name starts with "B" and ends with "allys Total Fitness").

I hate to be critical, but this particular location on this particular day was pretty atrocious. I know this is an older location and I didnt go there expecting it to be as nice as the ones Im used to in Denver, but this was even worse than I imagined. The locker rooms are terribly small and seemed very dirty. There are no benches, so you have to sit on a stoop in front of one side of lockers to dress. I was asked two times to please move because someone had to get into the locker in front of which I was sitting. I ended up just putting my shoes on while balancing on one foot. I saw someone walk out of the showers wearing a towel and an old pair of gym shoes. Im guessing hed rather have put his clean wet feet into dirty shoes than walk on this floor. It was the dirtiest locker room floor Ive ever seen (though it could have also been the been partly due to the old tile). The equipment seemed quite out of date. The stair-steppers were archaic and the elliptical machines were not the new ones Im used to. Also, neither had the ability to plug in your headphones and listen to the TVs like EVERY OTHER 24 Hour Fitness Ive been to. The treadmills are newer and do have this option. But the actual work-out machines are also older and are so crammed together that you can smell the person next to you and hear their grunting over the music in your headphones. The steam room was out of service this day and the overall atmosphere and cleanliness led me to just leave un-showered and write it off as a bad experience. Im sure theyve had better days and Im sure the staff is nice, but Ill never be back.

I dont know why people are complaining so much about this gym, I have high standards when it comes to many things in life, but for a gym, be grateful this gym has all it has for $30/month (not including other family/friends on your plan), and it has quite a bunch. Plus, they renovated the pool, sauna, and hot tub, and just bought a kettlebell (one of my favorite toys) rack, and even installed two new rowing machines (also my favorite). This gym also has a nice big instruction room that, when not occupied by a class, makes for an awesome, relatively quiet individual or small group session. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, not afraid to answer questions, and there is a wide selection of machines and equipment. Also, if you want to purchase anything in the store, if youre signed up for it, you can have the staff put your purchase on your accounts card so you dont have to fuss with paying, you just tell them to put it on your account and walk right out. One reason Im not giving it five stars is because there is a machine here and there that is always out of service or something on it (straps, bar, etc.) is loose or needs to be fixed, or a urinal or stall that needs repairing. Then again, some people dont know how to handle equipment properly. Another reason is, the locker room is pretty small. Oh, and guys in the locker room walking around barefoot: wear shower shoes in a public gym restroom, not doing so can give you athletes foot. Jus sayin.

I am a member of the 24 hour fitness in "Arvada". I was excited to hear when they said they were going to close and update the facilities. All they did was paint,, looks cleaner unless you look at the ceiling and all the dust that is falling on you. As for the equipment, they added a few new machines, but they still had several that were broke from before the remodel that still had not been fixed. I know that space is limited - but they do have a full gym that could be revamped into more workout space, I am not sure how active this space is for basketball etc, so that may not be an option. As for the staff, they are helpful and make the best of what they have available. The class instructors are great and knowledgeable - wish there were more Yoga opps at night. I also have access to the Englewood facility at lunch. It is like night and day. The machines are new, all with individual screens, nothing is ever broke. Clean and updated restrooms, one drawback - no paper towels. I can get a quick 30 lunch time workout - and they offer spin class at noon. The staff is friendly and the instructors knowledgeable. My question is we pay the same membership fees at both locations, so why is the Arvada location so dismal? I

Ive been to many of the 24 Hour Fitness especially in the area and this one is no exception. In fact, years ago, I used to be a regular here. Now, I merely stop in when my work brings me out this way. First off: its fairly small compared to some of the others fitnesses. Ive never been here during busy times so cant speak to how the closeness of the equipment translates when the gym is full, but for me its slightly uncomfortable. Being a bit smaller than the regular gyms I go to I understand why there is a lack of equipment options. Sure, there are the basics, but not much in the way of diversity. As for the staff: Ive never had a conversation longer than thirty seconds with one. Mostly, they seem indifferent to me. Theyre never overtly mean or rude but Ive also never felt welcome or like they appreciate me being there. The equipment itself us mostly serviceable; the basketball court is actually quite large as is the wet area. I mean, the pool isnt large, but the spa, steam room and sauna are. On that note, the sauna and steam room seem way too hot while the spa seems like it could be a bit warmer. But, unlike the gym I usually go to, at least theyre working.
