I had my reservations when I pulled in and it was in a semi-sketchy strip mall - and then again when I smelled the interior and realized I was the only person in there without an AARP plan. I was - admittedly - 8 minutes late - no more, no less - and apologized immediately upon entering. The receptionist said "No worries" or something to that effect, and showed me where to sit while she went to see if "Carol" was ready. A few minutes later she came back out and said "because I was so late , Carol wouldnt be able to do the polish or anything" that was a part of my manicure. I said OK - no thanks, then, because that was really the entire point. So the receptionist went back and talked to Carol again, and then a few minutes later told me to go on in and get started. So, I walk in to a little separate area where Carol and another nail tech are talking loudly and harshly about how I should have lost the appointment, been forced to put down a deposit, been charged extra fees, etc. etc. for being 8 minutes late....RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE. Appalled and embarrassed, I asked, "Are you talking about the fact that I was 8 minutes late?" "Oh, no," she said, patronizingly. She then proceeded to tell me how she wouldnt be able to do this and that, etc., because I was 20 minutes late (which is utterly false - I was 8 minutes late; then she spent an additional 12 yammering with the receptionist and making her run back and forth from the nail to the waiting area like a jack rabbit) about what she would and wouldnt do for me - and by the time she was done, 20 minutes had passed, apparently - and I said, well, then maybe we should just pass, because this was my rare day out without my two babies, and now I felt really pressured and rushed, and not to mention, humiliated - and the entire point of the visit, to a place called TRANQUILITY, no less, was to relax and unwind. They do bill themselves as a "spa," after all. She then snapped something rude about being early next time (is she forgetting who is paying who here?!?!?) and I said, again, forget it, and walked out. In short, the entire experience with Carol was painfully rude and unprofessional, and they should be embarrassed that any of their employees would treat a new customer like that. At a SPA. Aside from the nightmare with Carol, the interior was very dated and not at all spa-like. Never again will I stray from Tallgrass.

The salon itself is a great place with many friendly faces, Bonnie the owner is a terrific person she goes the extra mile for ALL of her salons clients! However the booths are privately rented out and not all of the stylists have the same caring mentality, one in particular is Regina, I had a scheduled appointment with her the day of my wedding to have my hair/makeup done as well as two of my bridesmaids this appointment had already been partially paid for as well and 30 minutes before the scheduled time she messaged me of Facebook to cancel stating she couldnt help me or my girls because her hands were numb due to carpool tunnel syndrome!! She backed out on one of the most important days that I will not get back!! She did not offer any kind of alternative such as someone that might be able and willing to step in for her so I was left calling salon after salon and had to settle on fantastic sams as they were the only place that had any kind of opening!! Bonnie is the salon owner and a wonderful person that inevitably made things right and helped refund all the money that was paid prior to my wedding day when services were supposed to be rendered!! I dont believe everyone in that salon has the same poor representation as Regina and regardless of this horrendous experience I would still go back to the salon as it is a great place to relax while getting a mani pedi, facials and your hair done. However I will NEVER book with Regina again!!

My family and I have been coming here for 8 years now.. Bonnie is a great local business owner and really cares about her salon, customers and employees, and it shows. I have been to both locations and always feel comfortable there, but I think the new location is great. Every time I come here, I feel like Im going to a party--such a fun, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere!--and leave feeling like a million bucks! My family has seen a few of the hair stylists here(Frank is great, my son would always say "I only want to see Frank!") but when I met Regina about 5 years ago, it was true love! Im very particular about my hair and she always makes me happy. I often want pretty edgy cuts/ very detailed and complicated color--often times stuff that I cant even find photos of, just describe it--and she always does an awesome job. Most of the time just give her a general idea and let her work her magic! Regina goes above and beyond what I would expect every time, and she is a true hair artist! :) Also, Ive had my nails done here, and it was the best mani/pedi ever. Thanks Tranquility for always making my family look and feel amazing!! You all are awesome!!!!!

My stylish, Julie Villia is the reason for my high marks (she gets 5 stars!!), but I had to take off a star for the salon because the new location has an issue with the smells from the nail care area. This has been an issue from the get go at this location. This last visit my husband sat in the car awaiting his hair cut because he can not sit in the building due to the nail chemical smells. I dont like the smell and I only continue to go there because Julie works there. (Other staffers are great there, too) The owner needs to address this healthy air issue. If the air quality get taken care of, this salon is a 5 star for sure.

I love Tranquility and have been going there for years. They offer every service you can think of and the owner Bonny" will go out of her way to make you feel welcome. She has been cutting and coloring my hair for almost 25 years and I wouldnt think of going anywhere else. I also get facials and massages there and have always been completely happy with all of it. Natialie, the anestitician is amazing and sure knows her products and how to use them. One side is the salon and the other side the spa. There is a different vibe in each section and you will enjoy both!

Not the best, its in a crappy strip mall. The salon smell ruins the experience of the "spa". I hate the smell of hair products and thats what you get if you go here for a massage. I get the combination of a one-stop shop, but there just isnt any way to make that smell go away or the muffled sounds from the salon while youre trying to relax.

My young teenage daughter loves getting her hair cut at this salon, because her stylists are fun and nice, and they make her feel beautiful and comfortable in her own skin. That, and they have kick ass styling skills. She especially likes Courtney. Thanks for everything!
