I was very disappointed in our experience with Justin. I will however say he was quite polite, and professional in the entire process. My wife was seeking quotes to add some electrical to our unfinished basement, and decided to have Justin over for a quote. Justin did not announce to my wife that he had a $79 dollar show up fee(we assumed the quote would be free, naively), so this was a surprise to us. When he arrived at our house he seemed under prepared and asked "What the problem was?", which also surprised both of us. Justin went through our basement, and outside to the electrical panel, and brought up that he would be unable to personally do the work as the panel would not sufficiently support a basement upgrade, and that it was a Challenger panel, or Challenger type panel, which are known to have defects. He then mentioned needing to replace our electrical panel for both ampage and defect reasons, as well as replacing our grounding system. He came out with a quote that would indeed be less than many competitors, if the work was required. After having over several other electricians, who took the panel apart, it was discovered our panel was a GE, a great panel brand, and that it was definitely safe, and to code, to add electrical to our basement. Im very glad we did not hire Interstate Electric and Solar as it appears we would have dramatically overpaid for work that was not required. I would advise anyone reading this review to get multiple opinions, and to be aware of the $79 dollar show up fee.

Justin is incredibly smart and conscientious. His mom raised a good man. My very old house has had so many electrical patches that needed to be fixed and I didnt know where to start. Justin explained in great detail the best way to approach my electrical mess. I feel so much safer in my old house and that is more important than anything else. By upgrading my electrical box and cleaning up numerous odd fixes I can begin to bring my house into the 21st century. He also brought to my attention the need for additional smoke and CO2 alarms which I was able to install myself. He is a great educator. He is happy to break a big project into smaller financial projects so you can work towards a properly coded house.

I called Interstate out to check out a problem we were having with an arcing circuit. Additionally, I had them replace our out-dated electrical panel, meter and add a whole house surge protector. Work was done by Justin, the owner. Extremely thorough, and man, does he know his stuff. You can bet that he will not cut any corners. 5 minutes into talking with him, you can tell he is %1000 by-the-book and obsessed with safety. Very personable guy too; highly recommend. Pricing very competitive as well.

Originally I posted a positive review; however, I asked Justin to come do a simple install of an outlet. Unfortunately, no show/no call twice on two consecutive Saturdays when I stayed home on my weekend (twice) to get the work done. This was a big surprise to me and I was left hanging.
