Beware of these guys. Here is my experience. My hot water heater pilot light went out and would blow out the moment I let go of the pilot button. I knew it was likely the thermocouple and an easy and cheap fix, but preferred to have a professional do it for me as Im an extremely busy person. I told the scheduler that I wanted a really good technician and would be willing to wait. He said he was sending someone the same day, and I reiterated my point that I didnt want a guy new out of training and he then said he was sending one of his best but Id have to wait a day. Fine. Charles M. came onsite and spent a considerable amount of time checking it out (fine, take your time!). He then gave me the news that he couldnt find anything wrong although I was likely right about the thermocouple *BUT* on my unit the entire burner, etc., would need to be replaced at a total cost of about $600 because of the threading. His other "options" were to 1. replace the hot water heater for somewhere over $1,000, or 2. replace the gas control valve for about $700, or 3. clean it for a total fee of about $200. After I rejected the options for $600+, he was confident the cleaning was all it needed for now to keep me running for the next two or three years. Fine, clean it. A few days later, the pilot went out again and wouldnt light after releasing the button (exact symptom as before). This time I took matters into my own hands and it turns out that the part to replace my thermocouple is $35 at Lowes (and includes a thread conversion coupler). I called back and asked for a manager and complained. The manager offered me a refund of the "cleaning fee" but not the $79 "trip / diagnostic fee". I offered it, if he would prefer, to have one of his guys just install the thermocouple I bought and call it all even (including my opinion of them), but he wanted to charge an *additional* $150 on top of everything for them to install it. Total ripoff, in my opinion. I told him to refund me and I did the thermocouple install myself in about 30 minutes for a total of $35... no problems since. I will never use these guys for anything ever again, and I was considering using them for a complete bathroom remodel that I also dont have time to do. If I had been a person who didnt grow up with a father who did plumbing work and hot water heater installation, I may have actually fallen for the $600 thermocouple offer (lol). But theyll probably have "problems locating a customer by name in their system"... Ive got their technicians business card and the written quotes and invoice. Im still bitter to pay $79 for a diagnostic leading into sales options that were, in my opinion, inaccurate and unhelpful and deceptive. Also, the thermocouple connection into the gas control valve box was completely filthy even after the professional cleaning. And, fyi, the $700 gas control valve costs about $80 at Lowes and takes less than an hour to replace. This business had a chance to show their integrity to me, if their manager "Mick" would have issued a full refund. SMH. Im a U.S. Navy veteran, worked as a Machinists Mate... which means I did all manner of plumbing work, including valve repair / replacements, tubing and pipe installation, boiler maintenance, etc... even so, guys, this repair is cake and far less headache than dealing with these people.

WORST Experience EVER!!!!! Avoid them at all costs. We had Brothers come out due to the compressor freezing up. Needed a recharge which was fine. Recharge done and tech left. Less than an hour later the thermostat for our system just stopped working. This was NEVER an issue we had prior to the tech coming out. I called but the thermostat came back on, and then went off permanently. We replaced the thermostat and found the same problem with the new thermostat, goes on and then shut right off. I called them again and talked to Rob. I explained the situation, I dont believe in coincidences and the moment their tech came out our thermostat dies. That is not coincidence, that is cause and effect. Instead of making a customer that just spent $500 with them a priority they decided to schedule an appointment at their convenience. It is supposed to be 92 degrees tomorrow with no AC. I said never mind I will contact Apple Aire, which is a much better company and unbelievably professional. They could not get out until Monday so I decided to go back to this company and get the appointment for the next day. The response, well you said no and now we do not have that appointment, so sorry, now the best we can do is Tuesday. You should not have been so rude and said no. I explained to Rob that they screwed up my thermostat, his condescending response was to laugh and say "Oh now we screwed up your thermostat?" What kind of a company thinks their shoddy service is laughable. I was constantly interrupted by Rob who apparently thinks customers are his children. Several times he "warned" me because he felt I was raising my voice. At this time after hearing Robs snide little laugh for a few more minutes I did start to raise my voice when I realized I made the mistake of calling this company. I can not reiterate this enough. Read Yelp, this company has some poor ratings and now I know why. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with them. Luckily, I found a company that made their customer a priority. *****Update***** So this experience is actually worse than I thought. I had a competitor come into troubleshoot our thermostat. It turns out its a pretty common problem and takes literally thirty seconds to discover. There is a p trap drain that when it is blocked will fill with water which shuts down your AC unit. The tech found it was blocked and showed me the piece that, sure enough was wet. The A/C coil condenser was blocked and was not draining. I reviewed my invoice from Brothers and sure enough the notes state "I looked in p-trap drain is working properly" The tech from the competitor took out over 32 ounces of water which had blocked the drain with some rusty particles. There is NO WAY the guy from Brothers looked at our drain it was completely blocked. So if they did not look at the p trap then did they really put in x amount of pounds of freon. Just saying if you are willing to fudge the notes on what you did...whats to stop you from building a ticket on things you did not do just to make money. Again BE WARY OF THESE PEOPLE!

Somehow our mainline randomly became clogged on Thursday afternoon. After spending 8 hours trying to snake/fix it, we reassessed everything Friday morning and worked at it again, taking apart pipes, clearing some of the lines, and fixing others. When nothing seemed to work to solve the biggest issue, and once we were sure we needed our mainline unclogged, we feared no one could help us on the Friday night before Easter weekend. Three sinks, plus our kitchen sink, dishwasher, and two toilets were backed up. If we turned on the kitchen faucet, the toilets in the hall overflowed. Needless to say, it was an emergency, but after calling 4 separate places, I was told the same thing: "Im so sorry, but if you would have called earlier, wed be able to help. Unfortunately given thats its 3pm on Friday, we wont be able to assist you until Monday." I was nearly in tears after having spent a full day on this already and just knew the job was much bigger than we could handle. I called Brothers Plumbing and the lady who answered said, "Hello, thank you for calling Brothers. How can I make you smile today?" I was literally taken aback, because in all my frustration, I couldnt even think of anything to say other than, "I need help!" She said Id called the right place, gave me a window of time for the same evening, and then called back 5 minutes later saying shed re-routed a tech whod be at my house in 45 minutes! Charles showed up and he was very kind, polite, knowledgeable, and professional. He wore booties in my house (even though it was less than clean with toilets that had overflowed the night before), and was quiet so not to wake my toddler or bother my dogs. He assessed the job thoroughly and then gave me a quote to help fix our problems. He even said he was worried he couldnt fix it, so in an effort to "not waste our time and money," we discussed at length what he would do and if we were comfortable with him proceeding, or if we wanted to wait and try having our septic pumped instead. We decided to have him try to unclog it and he worked hard for over an hour, after which, he FIXED IT!! He even stayed for another hour, making sure it worked, flushing our systems, and cleaning up any mess he may have contributed too. Even though it took longer than he estimated, we were charged TO THE PENNY what he quoted and we are very pleased with his level of service. Not only will I recommend Brothers Plumbing to anyone I know, Im happy to have found a company I trust now whenever we have a plumbing emergency. I cant thank you enough for giving us peace of mind and the use of our sinks and toilets back...especially before Easter. Im so grateful! And how crazy that they did make me smile! Thanks again & Happy Easter!
