I thought my review posted almost a year ago but it did not. Anyway I was from NY and Im somewhat handy but didnt have much in the way of tools. My wheel bearings were shot among other minor issues. I figured If I had gone to other shops I would be looking at $800-1200 for my repairs to be done. Then I found DIY! I think with taxes it came out to $450ish... That was including parts. The mechanic (wish I could remember his name but he works on the farthest station from the office) was a really nice, super knowledgeable guy. He was the only one working that day so he had to help me and another customer. He kept clOse track of the time on which he spent with my car vs. the other person he was helping so I wouldnt be charged a cent more than I had to. He taught me so much about the mechanisms and functions of my control arm and wheel. Anyway I couldnt and cant thank him enough. Even the girl working at the front desk was nice and saves me an additional $40. I cant say enough good things about this place. Even if you dont do your own work, their rates are better than most and these people will not rip you off. I was some guy from ny, no family or friends and my car couldnt leave without the repairs, perfect target right? Well Im in Houston now (my old car made it from ny-co-tx) and I wish there was a DIY here even if it was 50 mi from here Id make the drive. Keep up the good work, and please franchise!

My son went there to install the automatic transmission we rebuilt for his Mustang. I dont know where else he could have gone to pull that off because he needed the lift and a tranny jack. Unfortunately the car would not shift into 4th gear so we were there again last week to replace the valve body. Charles is extremely helpful and accommodating whenever you need anything--a coat hanger a dab of grease, an oil filter wrench, etc. He was helping some people next to us change some front brake pads. We used their oil drain barrel and a roll of paper towels that was provided. Each bay has its own well-equipped tool chest, floor jack, workbench, etc. They will work the lift for you and you have the use of their air tools, drop lights, etc. We ended up having to push the car out of the shop and had to leave it there for a week. Although their invoice says they can charge $15/day for storage, Charles said to just give them a call and let them know what the plan was for finishing the job. This shop is very clean and it has a nice waiting area. I am very impressed with the facility and the people who work there--very friendly and professional. Ill never roll around on a creeper in the driveway again! The next time I have something to fix that I dont feel like working on, Im going to give them a shot and let them do it.

These guys absolutely blew my expectations away! I came in on 6/29/13 for an alternator replacement, and planned on doing the technician assisted package. The staff had already printed out instructions on completing my repair, and gave those to me on arrival. The technician helping me was fantastic. Very nice, experienced, and knowledgeable. He was extremely helpful in every way, and theres no way I could have done this without his help. After replacing the alternator, we found that my battery had flatlined too many times to recover. They didnt have a battery that fit my car, but the owner went to OReillys and bought one. We swapped it out, and I was all set. I was originally quoted for 3 hours of work. The staff stayed almost a half hour after close, purchased the battery for me to install, and still only billed me for 2.5 hours. All told, the 2.5 hours of shop time, alternator, and battery cost me far less than it would have to have just the alternator done at a regular repair shop. Summary: If youre even slightly inclined to do some of the work on your repair, this is the perfect place. Skilled, caring, and incredibly helpful staff, great prices, and every tool you might need to get the job done. I really hope this place takes off, and Ill be doing all of my future repairs here!

Excellent place. Went last night, 12/21. Time got bumped back 30 minutes but that was fine, grabbed some dinner before getting to work. Understandable too, as sometimes things take longer than anticipated when working on vehicles. Anyway, the tool selection was great. I brought my girlfriend along because I was initially told that all the techs would be booked that evening and I wanted to make sure Id have an extra pair of hands should I need them. I got totally noobed on the rear suspension of my 4runner despite being familiar with the process and having done it on my Tacoma with hand tools. Thankfully an awesome tech (two at times) was available to lend a hand and many words of wisdom, got it done. Still saved well over $100 compared to what it would have cost paying a shop, and had I not made a few mistakes that price figure would have been much lower. I learned a lot in the process too so thats always a plus. Girlfriend sat for 3 hours while I monkeyed around and watched TV in our bay, used wifi, and drank coffee. Staff was exceptionally nice to both of us and Ill definitely be back in the next time I have some stuff to take care of. There were also some cool folks occupying other bays that were fun to talk with, good place to meet people with similar interests.

I went there to fix 2 cars. First to do a brake job and rotate a tire. Then - my other car had a clutch master cylinder problem. I had no hesitation to go back to fix it there. The staff is very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The rates are great, they offer 3 levels, do it yourself, do it with help (so you do your own bolt / nut removal and things, but the hard parts they come and help) and if it is really hard they can take over fully. Even when they do all the work, they are open to show what is being done, you can be present during the services rendered. The techs are helpful answering questions when you have them. Its a clean shop, well lit, I drove 50mi one way to go back fixing my second car, I liked them that much, hit a snag, and they were there to help. I will come back for services where a lift and friendly advise and help is needed.

What a Concept!!! Brilliant!!! I owned and operated a full restoration shop in Houston TX. I live in Denver now and discovered DIY Auto Repair when I had some light work to do on my own cars. First class operation that allows my young son and I a unique opportunity to do some light wrenching together. We do oil changes, transmission services, work on our lifted jeep, and it makes life easy on a lift. Charles the lead tech is super helpful, and fair. He really helped my son and I out when we got in over our head. He provided peace of mind when I was starting to get frustrated with a project. He stepped in, helped me and put me back on track. Every guy needs to plan a project with their kid to do an oil change or replace a broken part. A lot of fun, Ive been waiting for a place that I can work on my own stuff, thats half the fun!!
