I have been a member of this gym for one year. I joined because I needed a facility with a swimming pool, but unfortunately I have not found this gym to be everything I expected. Here are some of my issues with this gym: - Filthy pool. There are always band-aids and sand at the bottom of the pool, which demonstrates that it is very rarely cleaned. Paint is constantly peeling off of the pool wall. - Locker rooms are run down. The ones downstairs smell like they have a mold issue. The ones upstairs are almost impossible to use because, even though there is a sign on the door asking parents not to bring children of the opposite gender into the locker room, they do it all the time, making it very uncomfortable for the paying members of the gym to use the locker room. This rule is not enforced at all. - If I were to rate the gym on the cardio and weight area alone, I would give it three stars. These areas are not terrible, although some of the treadmills are quite run down. However, there is absolutely no example being set by anyone to use proper etiquette at this gym. People do not rerack their weights or wipe down their machines. Even the trainers do not teach their clients to do this. - Spin bikes are not good quality. Overall, this gym would be a much better place to visit if they would keep the pool a little cleaner, and actively reinforce the rules they set forth.

I have been a member of this club for 5 years and it has cost about $600 a year. I LOVE this club. They have a variety of classes, that fit every fitness level, fabulous instructors and a great staff. But it is expensive and with this economy...yikes! Due to this I have been looking in to other clubs which are charging much less. So imagine my surprise when stumbling upon a full page ad on the cover of the Rare Reminder with a reduced price for NEW MEMBERS ONLY! $20.99, more than half the price I have been paying for the past five years. What a really nice way to treat your loyal customers! I figured they would make good on this offer for clients like myself as it is only fair.... they have not returned my call. Great customer service. Cardio express here I come!

This was a great gym until they replaced the whole free weight area with a personal training only area. The free weights have now been crammed into the weight machine area. Industry standard is 40-50 sq. feet of space per machine/bench Id be surprised if its 20 ft^2 now. I hate it when people are standing around right on top of me when Im trying to concentrate to get through my reps. Gym Still has an ace up its sleeve with the pool and basketball court but I wont be coming here to lift anymore. Too bad.

had been a member for many years but stopped since: new management drove all of the good instructors away air conditioning is not anywhere near adequate maintenance of the equipment became non-existent- several machines had been broken for many months general upkeep of facility became very poor- trash on the floor of the weight room not picked up for days new owner does not respond favorably to customer concerns

They collected full fees and kept on cancelling swim lessons for several weeks as their heater was broken and never refunded my money. Poor service and vague replies. I will not recommend smin lessons at this place. Out of 6 lessons my son could only do 2. Their pool never felt heated.

I love this gym. The staff are always so friendly and helpful - willing to answer questions and talk. I like the set up and the kinds of equipment they have, its also never crazy busy which is a plus too. The only down side is their weekend hours

The Club is a great place for a swim or a work-out. The people at the front desk are friendly and cooperative and the atmosphere is nice. We have been members ince 2012 and will not be going anywhere else.

Newer mangement over the last year. Never crowded and beautiful pool. Great swim lesson program, and fun group fitness classes like Zumba, Piyo, insanity live, p90x live and more :)

The place has really turned over a new leaf and its one of the best gyms in the Hartford area. Dont know about its past but its unbelievable great now.
