Ive been a member for a few years now, going in the early morning. Ive visited 5 or 6 other Snaps around the country and this is head and shoulders above the rest, even the newer one in Clinton. Like most 24-hour gyms, Snap suffers somewhat from the lack of square footage but makes the most of what it has. For example, Clinton pops a studio right in the middle of the floor space and the only way to make room is to eliminate machines. The Essex location has a full complement of equipment, and its kept in good order. Im not a cardio fan but I do notice that its rare that a machine is out of service. When it does happen, the repairs occur in a timely fashion. Its certainly not the least expensive gym you can join (I also belong to WOW! Fitness for $10/mo) but its reasonable and the location and 24-hour access justify it (who else is open at 4am?).

The owner, Dallas, is a very nice and helpful athletic trainer. You can tell shes passionate about what she does. The gym is a bit snug but there is a good amount of machines and equipment to go around. And the fact its open to members 24/7 makes it very convenient!
