I used to enjoy going to this facility, but a recent experience with the manager, Christina K., has soured my taste for the operations of this particular Planet Fitness. My experience: I enrolled with the $1.00 and $10.00 monthly fee in mid January of 2017. At the time, I specifically asked if there would be a yearly fee for membership. I was told No, just the $1.00 fee for the year. Less than 2 months later, I was charged a Yearly Fee of $41.48! Firstly, I hadnt even been there for 2 months! I attempted to contact the manager, Christina, on numerous occasions over the course of a week...at first I was told to Hold on, and then informed that she had left for the day-at 3:30PM when she arrived at 11:00AM? This is better than bankers hours, which are now much more than Christinas hourly shift! I do not appreciate her bait and switch tactics nor her clear avoidance of addressing the inquiry and resolution to the problem! The desk staff is wonderful, friendly, helpful and cheerful. I do appreciate them and their efforts to make Planet Fitness, Guilford, Ct a positive place to come to. The clients I have met are warm and friendly. The facility, itself, is dirty and unkept, especially the womens locker room. Often, I would take a shower and there would be stray hair and empty bottles of shampoo in the shower stall. Three, (3), days later, the same hair and empty bottles would be there! Christina needs to address these issues as well as the inaccuracies of the marketing tactics that she has used. It would make a far better gym.

The gym itself was just ok. Dated equipment, not very clean and the staff (as noted below) not very customer friendly. My overall experience with Planet Fitness has been exceptionally poor. I purchased a membership for my wife in December of 2014 as a gift. We tried to pay in full for the year however the "company policy" required a reoccurring payment. We moved from Madison to Southern CA in late May 2015. We informed Planet Fitness in Guilford of the move and asked to cancel the membership. The monthly charges continued for June, July, August. We emailed Planet Fitness and called the corporate office and were assured the membership would be cancelled. Continued to be billed September, October, November. Now we are getting harassing texts and "past due" notices sent to our California address. This gym is impossible to do business with and each person we deal with on the phone will invoke "corporate policy" and one sided rules. Basically, good luck canceling and the "customer is never right".

Great facility for my needs which are basic. Cardio, weights/machines & out, but for those that want more, a black card membership offers massage chairs, UV booths, etc. I didnt look into all the benefits of Black card membership, so I would recommend a visit & talk to the friendly & competent staff. They do not offer sheduled group sessions like spin classes and such of which I have no interest. I just want to come & go on my own schedule & there has always been a treadmill, weights or other devices available. The clientele covers the full spectrum of age, gender, & condition from those that come in on crutches to tatooed brutes, so whoever you are you will fit in. Their moto is "judgement free zone." Showers & lockers are available. Also, there is an emphasis on sanitation with rolls of paper towels and sanitizing spray bottles throughout the facility, and finally, you cant beat the price!

ATR bought my membership and but after I was approved and told membership was ready and someone would call me Monday it never happened. When I finally drove over I was told it was miss communication The manager rambled off a memorized speach quickly asked what size shirt and hastily threw a bunch of goodies in a bag and handed to me. Stoic and in a hurry to go about her business. No enthusiasm and robot mannerisms with no regard once money had been made. Maybe its because it was grant money I dont know. The people behind desk and corporate were great though.

The aerobic exercise machines are crammed too close together and many are noisy and need repair or replacement. The gym needs regular thorough cleaning to eliminate bad smells. There is a thick layer of dust under many of the machines. A total refit and wider spacing of the ellipticals, arks, bikes, and treadmills would make this place attractive again. On the positive side, you cant beat the price and the staff are very friendly. However, it would be helpful if the staff would enforce the rule against cell phone use.

This is a good gym, the staff are very friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. It was recently expanded, so theres ample room for freeweights, 30-second workouts, and more. Tanning and massage beds for those who want them (Black Card membership required). My main beef is that since its not the hugest gym sometimes the equipment gets in pretty rough shape, but theyre pretty good about keeping on top of repairs.

I go here, because there is nothing else in Guilford. There are no squat racks, and no bench press. All smith machines. Its a little crowded, and during the Summer when the highschool bros are out, forget it. The only redeeming factor is that its right down the street and I can go before work; thats it.

The manager is positively hideous, rude, inappropriate.truly offensive which is probably why the GUILFORD location has so few people! Its a necessary evil, the only game in town but Im disgusted at being so ripped off and treated so badly but the facility is okay etc....and convenient ...

Ive been using this gym for years and have relied on it especially for wight-resistance training. Now the Guilford Planet Fitness is part of Silver Sneakers for seniors; so its free; so I am even happier than before.

Good facilities and environment. Never have to wait for a Treadmill. The owner is very nice and knowledgeable. Some staff could use a bit more training on customer interactions and transactions.

Very good facility. PF membership fee ...cant beat it! Plenty of equipment, never have to sign up or wait. Whats not to like? Works for me, I would recommend to a friend, colleague or family member.

Recent renovations have really expanded this gym. Theres usually never a problem finding a workout area regardless of whether youre using free weights, machines, or cardio equipment.

Planet Fitness has a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The gym is very clean and updated often. There really is never any intimidation.
