This is the worst managed UPS location I have ever had the misfortune to experience. They have been awful for many years but today they dropped to a new low. Amazon sent my order through UPS. I was home on the day the tracking service schedule delivery, all day. The driver never came to my door, placed an exception on my delivery stating the receiver (me) was not available. Fine, they do this all the time so I expected they would attempt delivery the next day. But nooo, new low for these people. The next business day they added another exception stating I, the receiver, requested pickup at the Hartford terminal. This driver blatantly lied as I never called UPS to schedule a pickup at the terminal. I called the 1-800 number to complain and I had the customer service representative check on their computer if I had called them to schedule a pickup at the Locust Street pickup, and her computer terminal had no record of me calling. So I asked her how would it have been possible for the driver to state I had schedule a Locust Street terminal pickup if I had never called??? No answer, she became evasive and tried to change the topic and tried to give me the street address of the terminal. I did not peruse the issue further because Im sure the customer representative at the main 1-800 number had no idea what had happened. But I will say this, I was very upset that I had to drive 20 miles to Hartford in the evening hours to pickup a padded envelope. UPS, if your Hartford terminal is understaffed, then hire more damn drivers to handle deliveries correctly!!! If Amazon provided me a choice as to which delivery carrier I could choose, your business would be the last in consideration. You are worse than DHL in the central Connecticut area.

5/6 Deliveries since Ive had UPS Choice have been undelivered due to "recipient unavailable". Funny how that happens as the past two years Ive been injured and therefore home 24/7. The first time after I called ups the driver came back. His excuse? "I rang the wrong doorbell as someone has the same name as you" (its spelled differently with a different first initial). Ok, whatever. Next delivery, exact same issue. I asked the redeliverer (different person) what i needed to do to stop this (per my landlord I had already left a sticker in the buzzer area "Some people have similar last names, please buzz correct person), he said nothing. He stated it was obvious and should not happen. Next time it happened, I called the local office, they were rude and did nothing. Yesterday, I was expecting medicine I had ordered that i had to spend 20 minutes on the phone to the sender to get on time, and was charged extra. Surprise surprise, ups did the same thing. Ive now been on hold for 55 minutes and counting. Pathetic, awful service. The only package they got sent correctly was one the usps delivered on their behalf. This has all been within 1.5 months by the way.

Attempted delivery at my house, I wasnt available to sign for it. They left instructions for me to sign so they could leave the package at my door step the next time in case I wasnt available. 2nd delivery attempt I again wasnt available, they wouldnt leave my package at my door as I requested them to with my signature. I called ups, they need me to sign and accept in person for delivery. I then asked to pick up my package, the customer service rep said its available for pick up now. I asked again to make sure its ready for pick up, again the rep said they have it. I drove to the UPS factory location for pick up. Waited 10 mins in line for a different rep to say its not here. I was then told it would be available for pick up between 8-9 pm that evening. We shall see if they are giving me bad information or if they are finally telling me accurate info. The whole process has been a huge hassle. In the future I will avoid UPS at all costs unless necessary such as with the current situation.

Package sent from Georgia to Connecticut, paid $132 for two day delivery. Found out at 4:30pm from online tracking that packaged was refused at Hartford location because it was damaged. It was immediately sent back to shipper in Georgia. This occurred without recipient or sender notification. It was a time sensitive package and I would have picked it up in Hartford even with the damages but I was not given the option to assume the responsibility of the damage. I called customer service in Hartford which was useless as they kept repeating that the package was already on its way to the sender. They said that according to their protocol, when a package is damaged they immediately send it back. I disagree with them making these kinds of decisions without attempting to notify the sender and/or receiver, acting as if these people were not the owners of the package. Will never use UPS again.

Got a updated surprise email @ 9 30 am Sun Dec 20th stating my package was out for delivery by end of day. Cancelled all plans for the day and waited and waited. Turned on my outdoors lights for the driver at 4 30 as it was getting dark and waited some more trying to keep my waiting frustrations in check. Checked my emails several times during the day and again around 6pm and still no updates. After 9+ hrs of waiting I get a email at 6 48pm telling me that my package has been rescheduled for the next day delivery between 3 30pm - 7pm. WHAT ARE YOU F@#$#@# KIDDING ME!!!!!!! I WASTED MY WHOLE DAY FOR WHAT? I DONT CARE IF IT TOOK THE DRIVER UNTIL 9 30 TO MAKE THE DELIVERY....MAKE THE DELIVERY!!!!! NOT ONLY THAT THEYRE GOING TO MAKE ME WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE DAY AGAIN TOMORROW. THIS IS ONLY 1 OF MANY REASONS WHY I NEVER CHOOSE UPS IF I HAVE A CHOICE! HAPPY HOLIDAYS, YA RIGHT!!!!!

Hate UPS all together....estimated my delivery time for 8:00 pm which works perfectly with my work schedule. Instead showed up at 12:30 pm while I was at work, refusing to drop off a $189 package without a signature. Funny seeing as 4 days prior they had no problem leaving a set of 4 band new truck tires in mt driveway which valued triple this package. Called customer service and was refused any access to a live person. Used live chat and was told my only option was to go pick it up even though I was guaranteed 2 day delivery. Then customer center says I cant even go pick it up until after 8:00 pm. If you are going to guarantee 2 day delivery and use a no singer as an excuse to break the guarantee, maybe you should notify to receiver when the delivery is or ask what is an acceptable time. If it werent for Amazon picking my delivery service, I would never go near UPS again.

I took the day out of work to receive a package that was to be delivered to me today. While waiting I checked the tracking and saw that the delivery person had arrived and left. I didnt understand what happened since I was waiting for the delivery. I have no door bell and I live in a secure building, so I hoped that that would get a call. But no UPS doesnt do that. Fine. I asked that they please send back the delivery person since I would not be able to spend another day away from work. I spent the ENTIRE day going back and forth with UPS and have been basically told "too bad lady." They had a person from some UPS office in Hartford CT call me, and tell me that they make two other attempts at delivery. She did not allow me to complete a sentence and was condescending and rude for the entire call. I will not use UPS again.
