No Stars! OMG! Never in my life have I ever been treated so disrespectfully! Someone should report him to the BBB!!!! I was recently in a car accident which was not my fault. The other driver’s insurance company gave me a written estimate and told me to go to a few body shops to get some estimates and then show them the insurance company’s estimate and then if there were any more repairs required an adjustment would be made. In the past I have always used Coyne’s Auto Body shop in Westbrook for any body work needed for either my husbands or my car and had excellent service but I needed a few estimates and decided to try Madison Auto Body for my first estimate. First I had to wait about 10 minutes because no one was in the office and a customer who was waiting for him to return said he would be back shortly. When the owner, George, arrived the lady who was waiting went up to the desk to check out. George asked what I wanted. I said I needed an estimate, but why don’t you finish with the lady who was first. He ignored the lady and said I needed an appointment for the estimate and come back tomorrow morning. I told him I had another appointment and it would not be possible. Then he asked what happened to the car. I told him I had an estimate from the other drivers insurance and I needed to get estimates from other auto shops. He wanted to see the estimate and I said, “No. I want to see what your estimate is first.” He then got angry and said, “I know what you are trying to so. You are trying to make money off this”. I said, “No. I need to get estimates and see what the differences are and then decide who I want to do the repair”. He said, “Well, it’s $35 for an estimate and if you get it done here you will get the $35 back.” (Really? Most estimates are FREE!) I again said to him, “If you want to discuss this why don’t you help this lady first.” He ignored me and continued to insinuate that I was dishonest and only wanted to make money off the insurance company! I said,” You don’t even know me? Who are you to judge me? Listen, I need my car repaired and I need to get prices. I am going to Coyne’s Auto Body in Westbrook.” Then he said, “Fine. Go to Coynes!” I was really shocked at how rude he was and as I was leaving I said “Well you just lost a customer.” Well, I did go to Coynes and I was treated with kindness, respect and my estimate was free! As for Madison Auto Body, all I can say that this guy is an arrogant jerk! I don’t know how he stays in business! DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT even consider getting your repairs done here.

Worst customer service Ive ever received in my life. Dropped off my car for repair on a Monday, George was very affable, very nice. He said it would be done by the end of the week and that hed call. Thursday comes and I called him, now the car would be ready Monday next week. Huge inconvenience as I was told end of week. I call again on Monday, it will be done Tuesday. My mom spoke with him separately, she was told Tuesday or Wednesday. Finally I called him on Wednesday morning and George, clearly annoyed and clearly I am a nag and somehow an idiot, tells me 4:30 today. I never once received a phone call from him, I was the one who had to keep calling to see when it would be ready. I go in to pick it up, he doesnt even say hello, in fact the first thing he says to me is, "can you have your son stop moving my magazines please?" At this point Im a little in shock at how rude and unprofessional and just weird this whole experience is. I comment that I feel like there is a lot of hostility coming from him and that I am receiving some horribly bad customer service. George begins to debase my feedback and belittle me when I requested that we just do whatever needed so that I could get out of there as quickly as possible. Very strange experience... the George that I dropped the car off with was a completely different person when I picked the car up- night and day. This guy George has some serious issues. If you do go here for car repair, just dont go near the magazines on the table unless you want an extra demoralizing experience.

I was rear-ended and needed an estimate for the damage of my car. I have done business with them before twice, so I gave them a call. The owner said to bring the car in and hed be happy to give me an estimate. When I got there he told me that hes not coming outside to look at the car because it was raining! He told me to have a seat until it stopped raining. I said I dont know how long its going to be before it stops raining and I cant wait around too long. He said that I could leave and that there are other auto-body shops down the road that I could go to! What type of service is that? Especially when Im a returning customer prepared to give him more business!

Honest as the day is long. We left Hammonasset Ford being told we needed a whole new $250.00 "light fixture" in the rear of our Volvo. When they looked at it here, we were told it was just a replacement bulb, I think I have one, he came back, installed it and said "no charge, just come back when you need something else repaired and we will be here for you" ..... so back we have been. Once this summer and now for a damaged mirror this fall. This is old world, small town, high quality service and workmanship. I highly recommend Madison Auto Body.

I read all of the reviews on here and I have to say I couldnt have gotten better service. George was more than helpful from my first call to him, he handled everything - the insurance, the rental car etc. He kept in touch with me to let me know how things were going, and how much longer he would need etc. He did a beautiful job on my car, I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Very accomodating and helpful!

Choose any place other than this. The customer service was awful-they had my car for weeks beyond what they originally promised. Additionally, they are rude and dishonest. I was promised compensation for the delay and never received it. Oh, did I mention I had to take my car to another shop within a week of getting it back because the repair they did was completely faulty.

I experienced a tire blow out very near this business. The staff ushered me in and took care of me with open arms. They recommended a service station, called them and changed my tire on the spot. It was 5;30 and they clearly were on their way out for the day. They did not make me feel like I was a burden to them. I would take my business there in an instant. Fantastic!
