This box isnt big enough everything....I went to this place a few months back only because its on my way to work and I work Tuesday-Saturday from 10AM-7:30PM And I live about a half hour from work. I brought my car in because I noticed a bubble on one of my tires and I put it off for a few days but to avoid a blow out I put on my full size spare, I have a 2005 VW Jetta. I drove to work the next morning but on my drive in the car was driving really weird so when I got to work I looked and i noticed the spare was a size smaller than the rest. I made an appointment for the next morning for tires. I should have just replaced the one tire but i made the worst decision and replaced all tires(5 in total) I say it was the worst decision because for their basic tires it cost me nearly $800. And I could have purchased mid grade tires elsewhere for that price. But it did come with a free oil change and a 4 wheel alignment. I didnt have the time to do the oil and the alignment that day so I made an appointment for the next morning. I arrive for my appointment and Im told that there is no appointment but that they will get me in asap. After about 20 mins the shop manager calls me over and says he is unable to do the oil change because he cant tell what oil filter I need and he does not want to guess but he will get started right away on the alignment. Then 20 mins later he tells me he cant do the alignment unless he replaces my rear struts but that I will have to come back in a week to do that. I did ask for a full diagnostic that normally costs $100 and he knocked it down to $50 for me after i complained for a bit. After the diagnostic came back I was told to replace my spark plugs for $500. I chose to do them myself for around $50 and 30 mins of my time(and thats because ive never replaced them on this car before) So now i drive for a week with horrible alignment. I finally get back to the shop to have them do the struts and the alignment and the oil change and there were some hidden fees in the things that were free of course so i dropped another $700. A few days later I start hearing a sound coming from the back of the car that sounded like I was dragging a soda can whenever I would go over bumps in the road. So I take the car back and they tell me that one of my rear springs has magically broken. I question it because they just had may car on the lift twice in the past two weeks and gave me a laundry list of items to fix and not one of those items was a rear spring....Did they check the springs??? Did they break the spring(even by accident) It just seemed to coincidental but they pleaded the 5th and told me it would be another $350 to fix the spring....I had just about had enough by this point. I found that there was a firestone near me that took me in same day and had me in and out in about 2 hours, they replaced both rear springs and advised me to do redo the alignment afterwords so for $350 I had it all take care of but when The work was done they showed me a before and after chart of the alignment and it showed that the front alignment was way off that I just had done 2 weeks prior, so did they even do the alignment!??? Also firestone advised me that I should do my breaks soon but they didnt see any other problems to be adressed at the moment unlike this place gave me a list.....This place is a joke..Stay Away!!!!!!

I was recently told by another car repair shop that I needed a major repair on my engine because it was leaking fluids. I panicked because of the pricing they gave me on the repair cost. A friend of mine told me to go get a second opinion so I was referred to Modern Tire & Auto Service on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington. Edwin was working the counter that day. I explained to Edwin about what the other auto repair shop told me. Edwin said that his staff at Modern Tire would thoroughly check my truck out. After checking everything out Edwin told me that the other repair shop must have spilled oil down my engine when they were performing my oil change and that I did not have to have anything done to my engine. What a relief! Thank god I went and got a second opinion from Modern Tire & Auto Service. Edwin was able to not only get my truck in right away but I know I can trust them to handle my vehicle issues 100%. I highly recommend this company and their staff!! No other place like it.

Weve been going here for a few years now, originally due to the proximity to where we were living and now just because we trust them to take care of our cars. Ive purchased 8 tires, two brake jobs, an O2 sensor, a windshield washer fluid motor, and various other repairs and "scheduled/recommended maintenance" over the years and their pricing is far better than any other mechanic Ive tried. A few friends go here who used to be tire-and-lube shop employees and agree they have fair pricing and do not attempt to oversell or fix things that are not broken. The waiting room doesnt suck if youre stranded, though theyve given me a few rides to work over the years as well. Overall I highly recommend this place,

I had a problem with the climate control system in my 2005 suburban, my old mechanic was unable to diagnose the issue after multiple attempts and multiple changed parts. It got to the point that I had no heat, air conditioning, and the fan didnt circulate air leaving me without the ability to defrost the windshield. I brought it into the shop, I spoke at length with Rob at the counter. He listened to my story, then assured me he was able to resolve my issue. Sure enough, I left the shop the same day, fully functional and very happy. I also had a couple of other issues resolved, and the bill was very reasonable for the expertise that went into solving these. Thanks again Modern Tire, Ill be back.

I was looking for an odd tire size that I needed to have installed same day. They told me they had it in stock and could have it installed for me by the end of the day. I left work early to get to the shop and when I got there they informed me that the earliest they could get it was 3 days later. After pressing them, they said they could try to get something by the next morning. Did not hear from them first thing in the morning, the next day so I called them. Apparently they lost my paperwork which is why they did not call me back. Dont waste your time or give money to incompetent companies with lousy customer service.

I have to take the time out to write about the wonderful experience I had here. Im not very car savvy therefore I tend to make terrible choices in terms of repair and things of that nature. Thankfully Dwayne Sumler, one of the managers, was extremly helpful. I have never met someone who was so knowledgeable about car repair. Not only was he able to point me in the right direction but he was proficient and handled things in a timely manner. It is always nice to be able to walk into a place as such and to have someone help you who knows what they are talking about. Excellent customer service!
