I strongly recommend Coach Auto Body. Ive taken a number of problems to them, and always found them both helpful and resourceful. I discovered Coach in 2007, when my car had been rear-ended, and I didnt care for the way I was treated by North Havens largest (also arrogant and bureaucratic) body shop. Their estimate was high, and presented with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude. Coach is a smaller operation, basically a Mom-and Pop company, but as my Geico adjuster said "They do beautiful work." And theyre fast and reasonable. They repaired my ruined hatchback and matched the paint color perfectly. Since then, Ive taken a number of small problems to them (frozen door latch, broken hood spring), which they fixed quickly and much more reasonably than a dealership would have. I went there for advice on a broken seat latch. The owner, Ron, fixed it on the spot. No charge. Glad to help. My wife had a minor scrape on her fender. The shop manager, Pete, came out to look at it, and buffed it out in a few minutes. Again, no charge. These guys are very skillful. Ive always found Pete, Ron, and Jackie, the office manager, pleasant to deal with. Three months ago (June 2015), someone backed into my wifes Prius-C, denting the rear side panel. Coach Auto Body did the repair. There was one problem, though. The paint color on the replaced panel was slightly off from the rear bumper. You wouldnt notice it unless someone pointed it out, but the color was definitely different. This was an odd blue-green color, and the blue-green balance was slightly different from the original. After listening to my wife complain for two months, I brought it back to Coach. Ron asked "What would you like me to do?" I asked if he could get rid of that color difference. He could, and did. They repainted the whole car, matching the color perfectly. Knowing that repainting is an expensive, painstaking job, I offered to pay for it. No charge. Ron pointed out that Toyota uses 17 different formulas for that particular color, depending on where the car was assembled, and they can be subtly different on the same car. Thats the kind of business Ill always go back to and strongly recommend to friends. As for the person who wrote the ranting, negative review above, I think what happened should be obvious from the tone of the review. If you approach a business with a combative, insulting attitude, even the nicest business owner will "walk away" from you. I think the problem was with the reviewer, certainly not with the business.

This place is a complete and utter joke. since I picked my car up with the same issue that it had when leaving it there (only difference is that the parts were replaced), I questioned Coach Auto Bodys owner about it only for him to give me some complete BS answer saying, "thats how it is supposed to be," "theres nothing wrong with it," "what would you like me to do?" and others that I cannot remember off the top of my head. Basically I was treated like I was ignorant to the subject and knew nothing. (another family member has the same vehicle therefore I know how the area in question should look). Keep in mind when the original appointment was made for the vehicle, they acknowledged the damage and knew what they were fixing then all of a sudden just because they "fixed" it, there was nothing wrong in the first place? Im confused. Did they steal from their customer or did they lie? Since it looked the same as when i dropped it off, why would I make an appointment to get something "fixed" only for them to give me the car back in the same exact condition as before (with some extra glue/grease all over the area being "fixed") saying thats how the car is supposed to be? Ultimately, in the middle of our conversation, he walked away. Yes, you read correctly, the OWNER walked away from me like the great business owner that he is. The guy he has working for him in the office is a very nice guy and, if anything, HE should be the owner. As for the secretary, Jackie, Im not sure if thats the owners wife or not, but she is RUDE. When you call the main number she treats you like youre an idiot and has no respect towards you. When you visit them in person she is also rude, RIGHT TO YOUR FACE. Meanwhile, everyone working there should be treating the customer with 100% respect since ultimately the customer is the one putting food on their tables! Listen, body shops are a dime a dozen, do yourself the favor and go elsewhere! Trust me, this place is worth avoiding. I wouldnt recommend this place to my WORST enemy. GO ELSEWHERE!

Ive had multiple experiences with Coach over the past 30 plus years. Always great work, always honest. I was looking the number up to send to a friend and saw the negative review. From reading that.. sounds like the guy had a beef and maybe was a little inexperienced on what he was looking to get done. Like I said, always a great job done here. The owner and his wife are very nice and very fair. Highly recommend them. What everyone has to know is this company has been in business many years. Thats a huge plus. Theres a few guys in back that have been there for the 30 years Ive been dealing with them so they are doing something right to be in business. Keep that in mind when looking for a shop!
