This is my first review and I have never been so displeased with any one place before in my life, just to put it in perspective. If there was an option to give this gym no stars I would. I belong to multiple gyms all over the state such as In Shape, LA Fitness, Planet Fitness, Golds, to name a few. I constantly work out and obtain memberships all over the state so that I never miss a day. It is by far the dirtiest facility and has the oldest equipment of any gym I have been to. The staff is rude and inconsiderate. I recently went to cancel my membership and there were multiple charges that were thrown at me (when I signed up they said that there was no fee for canceling). When I went in to cancel I agreed that they could take out the last month (even though I wasnt working out there anymore) but then they charged a maintenance fee of $40 as well. Strange that they hit me with this fee once I canceled. Normally this wouldnt be a big issue, but no maintenance EVER seems to be done here. When I brought it up to the manager he simply disregarded my disappointment. We had words and then he said "come down here and say this to my face", as if he wanted to fight me. Very unprofessional and I have never experienced anything like that. I just find it odd that they charge a maintenance fee for a facility that is so used and dirty. Here are some of the issues with the facility. First of all the weights are on the top floor which is wooden. This is unsafe and on multiple occasions I have witnessed someone dropping the weights on the top floor causing the lighting fixtures to fall on the first floor. This has to be in some violation of some code. The equipment is outdated, rusty and dirty. My fiance worked out with me one day and used the equipment. Everything seemed fine but the next day we noticed a rash on her body where ever her skin touched the equipment. The rash was all over and made her itch for a week. I have never noticed anyone cleaning the machines or oiling them. The tanning beds are all stand up and are very outdated. The locker rooms are small and confined. I do not recommend this gym to anyone! I have been working out my whole life and have been to many gyms in my day. If you can go to another gym I would.

This is not a spa. This is not a club. What it is is an old world facility that has been here for many years. Offers numerous classes, 30 minute workout type area, treadmill/stepper aerobic area and a hardcore free weights and machines area. World Gym offers all you need for beginner to advanced, whether you want to lift weights, get in an aerobic workout or participate in the latest classes. And, the best part is everything is included for a very reasonable price. This is a place where real people can work out, sweat and not be "intimidated" by lunk alarms or sickened by a purple and yellow color scheme that makes one want to vomit. If you want to be pampered or if you dont want to be around members that push themselves, there are plenty of "health clubs" that offer you a chance to pay a fee to NOT work out. If you want a place that makes you feel like you are welcome to work hard, World may just be the gym you were searching for. Choice is yours.

I am here in Ct. on business. I have about 100 people that follows me through at any given area. I called this place and asked to speak to the manager on what he could work out with me in regards to my people working out. The girl who answered the phone was very polite, courteous and respectful. When the manager got on the phone, he was completely opposite. He didnt even give me a chance to talk. He just mumbled something and hung up on me. That was the most rudest, most ignorant and disrespectful thing you could do ever do to a potential paying customer. I just dont understand the people that treat customers in this way. I have customers too in my line of work and if it werent for them, I wouldnt have a job. Maybe this guy needs to learn and understand this or get himself another job where he doesnt have to deal with the customers directly.

I have been a member of several gyms (the edge, planet fitness, as well as a few in the Boston area) and this gym is one of the best. The membership price is spot on with what they offer. I love going to the different classes (boot-camp, body sculpt, yoga) and the staff is always very pleasant. The amount of equipment they have is also really great. My past gyms were always missing something, they were too small or didnt offer classes or their trainers werent that great. World Gym has a nice balance of everything.

Dont go there between the hours of 5- 8 pm because its a madhouse. Its not a bad place, slightly dilapidated and outdated equipment but a good bargain for what they charge. Be wary of a good majority of kidiots and douche bags who have a sense of entitlement that go during those peak hours. Other than that, its a decent gym for getting your workouts in.

If youre looking for some upscale, shiny Globo Gym, dont bother. This place is local, clean, has an awesome staff and the rates are reasonable. The machines arent the fanciest, and sometimes are busted, but Id never go anywhere else. The fact that I still have a double chin is on me, not them.

I have been to several gyms and World Gym is my favorite . They have plenty of machines and there is rarely a wait to use one . The place is very clean and that is important to me . Most of all the staff is very cordial and courteous . They actually talk to you using your name . PW

divided into 2 floors, downstairs all cardio and circuit training, upstairs all weights. Its good to have a "gym" gym, not a fitness center. Staff are great!
