Do not let yourself be pressured into signing up for a personal trainer unless you understand exactly what you are getting yourself into. As far as Im concerned this is just a giant money making scam for LA filness marketing. I was told when I signed up for training there would be no issue to cancel the training if a medical issue came up. Well unfortunately, one did & they make it extremely difficult to cancel or get any money back. My medical issue came up in early Nov 2015, I went into the gym with my doctors note explaining that I need to cancel that part of my membership & didnt just wish to put it on hold. When I submitted my letter to the personal training desk, they supposedly faxed my doctors note to the corporate office while I was there.. When I saw charges were still coming off my credit card in January 2016, I went back & was told corporate never received the orginal & I had not filled out the proper form accompanying my letter but it should be no problem getting a refund for at least Dec 2015 & the Jan 2016 charges. I sent off the registered letter as requested. Today I was told by corporate that they could only cancel the training as of 1/11/16 when they received the letter despite the course of events. They said I could resume my personal training when my doctor okays it and they would credit me my money in that way but in no way would they be willing to credit back the 2-3 months charges I incurred. At this point, I am so aggravated I in no way want to even be involved in any personal training from LA Fitness. I may lodge a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The gym was ok when I was using it but I was disappointed that they didnt have more sanitary dispensers or encourage members to clean equipment in between use. incurred. They received my registered letter on January 11th explaining I discontinued the personal training in November as per doctors orders and would like my credit card refunded for at least the December & January 2015

I joined this gym for conveience. Pros: It has a pool, hotub, classes and basketball court and smoothie. Cons: The basketball court always has aggressive kids so if you want to just shoot hoops casually forget it. The MATRIX elliptical machines are from year 1. They are worn out and have little workout options. The Life Fitness ones that I had at my previous and much cheaper gym (Blink) were much better. There is truth to the dirt. This gym could be much cleaner. When I was at Blink the staff wiped everything down constantly. This is not done here. The patrons also are not encouraged to clean after use. The Hot Tub is a GREAT feature that I enjoy. However there are constant streams of dirt in the hot tub from improper maintenance. It needs more chlorine. I have a personal hot tub at home as well so I am familiar when chemicals are low. Addtionally there is an element of people behaving improperly. For example wearing boxers in the hot tub. This is unacceptable and proper attire needs to be required. To put this lightly. This gym does neighbor communities to its west that do not follow rules well. The weights are never put away. Good luck finding two 20lb dumb bells if you want them cause someone probably left them on the other side of the gym or even in the locker room, you will find weights anywhere. The smoothie store is great because they serve healthy food that you can grab for dinner on the way out. However they dont carry enough of the food so they run out on Mondays as soon as deliveries are made. Conclusion: If they clean up and get on members to be clean and dress right and upgrade some old machines the gym would be perfect.

Nice gym, has a good amount of weights, decent equipment and the price is good. It would have 5 stars but they dont enforce proper gym etiquette. Nothing is ever put back. I go to work out, not clean up weights after lazy people decided to take every weight off the racks and leave them on the floor or on machines. The dumbbells are in no order what so ever. All of the presses are either left with multiple 45 plates as to make you think someone is using them or the bar is taken somewhere else. There is no rack for all the attachments for the cables. Proper etiquette would be to put the weights away and to put the dumbbells back where you got them. Leave the equipment the way you find it, unless it was left a mess. This issue is partially the staff but mainly the people that go there. Once a day staff should organize and maybe even post a sign about customers putting stuff back. This would really help.

I come here every day because it is the closest one from my house. The staff has a terrible attitude, they pay little or no attention to customers. Very arrogant, If I had not payed all the money I payed I would have switched gyms already. I have never been so disrespected in my life by an out of shape person sitting behind a gyms counter. Customer service means everything to me, specially in a gym where people are trying to find themselves and help their self steem. As a veteran myself, I would not recomend this location to my veteran friends.

I was not impressed by this gym at all. I printed a guest pass and before even working out you need to sit with the sales manager Esad that tries to give you the impression he is giving you a good deal. After listening to his speech about, I worked out on a cardio machine for about a half an hour while observing members at the gym. Nobody cleaned their machines when they were finished with them and after looking around I only saw one sanitizing station in the whole gym with spray and paper towels. Gross gym, and not worth the money.

One of the worst LA Fitnesses ive ever been too. When machines break it takes a month for someone to come in & fix them just for them to break again. The mens locker room is disgusting; the lockers have all dirt and hair and whatever you can imagine in them. Overflowing trash & paper towels everywhere. Horrible Maintenance from management. When something breaks it should be Urgent to fix, since your customers are paying to use it.... but they drag their feet here, no rush to fix anything. Its disrespectful and rude.

This gym is only a few years old, has all new equipment, is huge, clean, and you rarely have to wait for anything even during peak hours. As far as gyms on Long Island go, its about as nice as it gets. The negative reviews show me that people on the internet can always find something to complain about. The gym has a few treadmills out of service and pushes personal training sessions on you when you sign up??? Yeah, so does every other gym Ive ever been too. Check it out yourself - I think its a great gym.

I wish Id give a 0 star... the gym is dirty, no vents, every time i have worked out I thought Id die because theres no air at all , even in the morning... ACs never on. Prices are crazy high for this type of service... Salesmen are stupid and rude, dont know how to deal with people only thinking of sales, lying when you sign up or dont say the whole story.... Wouldnt recommend this gym
