Worst. Experience. EVER. I have come to this carwash several times a year since we moved to Shelton 6 1/2 years ago. Ive never had problems until yesterday. I have a beautiful 2011 Ford Explorer with a keypad entrance on the side door. I spent $53.49 to get my car detailed yesterday. The cashier informed me it would take no more than 30 minutes. About 10 minutes after I arrived, an employee came out and informed me that someone locked my keys in the car and I needed to go use the keypad to unlock it. I informed him that I dont know the keypad code because I dont use it. Then he told me not to worry because he had "other measures" he could use to get into the car and walked away. No apologies. About 10 minutes later, he came and told me that his other measures failed and I would have to call Ford, then walked away. I was left there dumbfounded. Shortly after this, a man approached me and told me he would call Ford. Apparently he was the manager, but how I was I supposed to know when he never once introduced himself or apologized. He proceeded to call Ford and then walk away. The wonderful man at Ford was unable to help me so I hunted down the manager and returned his phone. He then told me he had another way to get in. Another strange man appeared and managed to break into my car. At this time, the manager walked away because 3 very cute young ladies arrived and he was busy flirting and laughing with them. REALLY!?! The worst part is that when I finally got home, I noticed a huge dirty spot on the hood of my car. Yes, they will wash it for free the next day but shame on me if I ever set foot in this dump again. Looks like all my business will be at the new car wash on River Road. Maybe morons dont manage that place. My car was finally finished. The 30 minutes it should have taken ended up being over 2 hours. I explained to the manager that I needed to leave before 3 so I could get home before my children got off the bus. Did he bother helping or even monitoring? No. I didnt get out of there until 3 and ended up being late getting home for my kids, who were locked out of the house. Words cannot begin to describe how frustrated I am with this place. Anyone who has ever worked in customer service knows what needed to happen. First, the manager should have introduced himself to me and then apologize for my inconvenience. Second, he should have kept me informed of the process 100% of the way. Third, he should have made sure that my car was immaculate and done quickly. Last, he should have given me a refund for yesterdays car wash as well as a credit for my next one. I RECEIVED NONE OF THIS FROM HIM. But Im sure those 3 cute girls got a beautiful car wash in a prompt manner.

It is inevitable in your daily life that you need to deal with uncouth folks thrown into the front-lines of a service company. BE WARNED - One such place teeming with arrogance and ignorance is the Splash Car Wash in Shelton, CT. Ive been using this service and had a run-in with one arrogant person here a while back but sadly, I did not learn my lesson. I came back for a car wash 48hrs ago and returned today to avail of their "72-hour promise" to re-wash your car. They looked up my "rewards membership number" and lo and behold - no record of my car wash 2 days prior! A hung-over guy kept repeating that while he believes Im not trying to obtain a free $10 wash for my $30,000 car, there is nothing he can do since his computer has no record of my wash. The "manager" repeated the same helplessness in resolving my predicament. BTW, they never gave me a receipt for the 1st car wash. After much protestation on my part, the manager said HE WILL DO ME A FAVOR and give me the wash for free. First of all, had the illiterate person who served me two days ago duly recorded my car wash, I would not be in this melee. Second, they should have issued me a receipt and should now be APOLOGIZING for their oversight in not recording my transaction two days ago. Instead, I was given a "New Year" treat of their trademark condescension and arrogance. If proximity is the mere reason for you to select this place, I beseech you to reconsider and go elsewhere. Their "rewards program" is most likely an ongoing SCAM and far from being rewarded, you will be PUNISHED with having to deal with these miscreants.

I was going to redeem a groupon deal thru Splash in Shelton. When I called to make an appointment they had me on hold back and fourth between the receptionist and the "other guy". I had purchased a 5 Star Detail and they had asked me how much I paid for it and were trying to tell me depending on how much I actually paid for the deal was what kind of service what was going to be done. and that it would cost me extra. I was confused because it clearly stated "5 Star Detail". In my eyes whatever the groupon says is what I should get. A bit confusing to ask how much I paid for it and try to upcharge me for one of the highest detail packages. I ended up hanging up while on hold for the 5th time and called and made an appointment with the Wilton Splash (where I had previously gone for detail services). No questions asked and marked me for the 5 Star Detail. Just got it done today and looks great!! I would not recommend this Splash Car Wash. I think they try to cut corners.

I dont know why all the negative reviews, oh thats right 99% of people need to play the victim card, well Ive been there multiple times and have never once had a bad experience, Ive dealt with an incredible young man, his name is Aaron I believe hes part of management if hes not thats a shame, hes polite, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable about the services they offer. Its not only that gentleman that Ive had positive dealings with, but the entire crew that have washed my car the 6 or 7 times Ive been there since moving to the area. The full service hand was for 29.50 is what I always get. My car is incredible to look at afterwards and have never been in this fantasy world of bad service that some of these people claim. Its awful to think that people will go to great lengths to disparage someone else to feel superior. Keep up the great work Splash because Im a guaranteed return happy, satisfied customer. Id give them 10 stars if I could.

Stopped by on 1/9/2016. Paid for just an exterior car wash, I believe it was $7.50 before tax. Either way. I came through the car wash and had my car hand dried, something you usually wouldnt expect for that price. After that a young man motioned for me to roll down my window. "Excuse me sir, if you have a few minutes, I would love to try to get a few scuff marks out for you". Working in marketing and advertising, usually nothing is for free. But this was and he took the time to quickly buff out a few scratches on my car at absolutely no charge with no incentive to purchase anything or pressure to come back. That is customer service at its finest and a rare thing to see now a days. What a fantastic car wash with a great staff and attention to detail. Not to mention my car is sparkly clean. I will absolutely be returning just because of this experience and the staff that went above and beyond the call of duty.
