I was dropping my girlfriend off to set up an appointment and when I went to pull into a parking spot a worker came out and stood in the parking spot. When I asked her to move, she yelled at me and asked if I could read the sign. First off, no I could not because she was standing in front of it and secondly it was dark out with no light on the sign. Oddly, the sign was for customer parking, which we were (or could have been), but after receiving such a nasty and unprofessional response from the workers, they will no longer have any business from my girlfriend. My fear is a business with workers as rude as this outside the business can only mean bad customer service inside the business. Due to this encounter, I highly discourage attending this salon.

Moved to Farmington a few months ago and Ive been to Fringe about 5 times to get my hair cut each time by Paul, the co-owner and senior stylist. Sub par haircut at best each time and this fifth and FINAL time he screwed it up completely leaving me with a very patchy head of hair. many parts longer than others...Just because you own the place, does not earn you the right of being called a senior stylist and charge $42 for a mens hair cut. I cant speak for the rest of the team at Fringe, except for Melissa as my wife has seen her several times and she is GREAT. Paul however, you should avoid at all cost. He is no good and moreover little to no personality and makes no conversation whatsoever.

After being left high and dry a few years ago without my favorite stylist (the salon just closed with no warning to their clients or stylists), I have had a hard time finding someone comparable. I am happy to say I have finally found a place, and stylist that I can call "home!" My stylist was Gina, she is fairly new to the area, and absolutely wonderful. My hair was perfect (and Im so OCD) and now I wont go anywhere else. The prices are a bit high (for me), but her work is worth every cent! She is also very genuine, a great listener (as in she really pays attention to your needs and follows through), and personable.

Fringe has a friendly staff and they are extremely accommodating making sure you have either a cappuccino or a glass of wine to make your experience as pleasant as possible. Their faculty is gorgeous inside and their staff is talented. Ive been seeing stylist Sophie Tong for some time. Ive got short hair and appreciate the time she takes to make my hair look amazing. Ive recently experimented with their color line and the purple she achieved looks awesome ! I get compliments from strangers when Im out in public . You should check this place out !

I had my first appointment this week, going from blonde to deep funky red. I did my research and picked a place and stylist who specialized in awesome hair color, and Fringe and Sophie did not disappoint! Sophie walked me through the whole process ahead of time, as well as cost and what upkeep would be like. Everyone there (stylists, front desk and even customers) were so friendly! Im so happy with my beautiful hair color, and have already received so many wonderful compliments in just the 24 hours since leaving the salon. Would highly recommend!

I could tell that they think outside the box when they moved into the historic library building. I had a great experience getting my hair cut there and I really like what they did to the building. This place seems to be run by innovative people who are building a strong team. My hair looks great, I will be visiting the again and recommending them to others. I predict that they will be a staple in West Hartford for many years to come.

I was going to the salon to check out the place and make an appointment. When I was about to park I was kicked out of my parking spot by a lady that worked there. She was yelling at me to look at the five foot sign that said salon Parking only. Her lack of perfessionalism and rudeness makes me wonder what kind of customer service I would be pervided with inside the salon. Now I will never step foot inside.

Paul has been my stylist for the last 10 years as Ive followed him from place to place as he has grown his business. He listens to me and is able to take my vague requests and turn them into a beautiful color and cut. I also appreciate that the cut and style is not complete until Im 100% satisfied. The rest of the staff is uniformly professional and helpful. I wouldnt go anywhere else!

I have been a customer at Fringe since it opened. All of the stylists are extremely talented an professional, the salon is spotless, and my hair color and cut is fabulous. I get compliments all the time, and I refer people whenever they ask where I get my hair done. Now, with all of those referrals, I hope I can still get an appointment.

I love this place! Jenny is really nice and very talented! My highlights came out absolutely perfectly. The salon itself is very well decorated and is very comfortable. You have a choice of coffee, tea, and wine, and while youre getting your hair done you can play with one of their iPads.

After a botched haircut from another salon, Melissa turned what was a horrible mess into my dream haircut. I had always wanted a cute pixie cut and without giving her much direction she knew exactly what I wanted and it turned out amazing. Shes great and I only trust her with my hair now.

Paul cut my hair yesterday and it was PERFECT. I took a shower and blew it dry all by myself and it was PERFECT. I rolled out of bed this morning, shook my head and--yep--my hair was still PERFECT. Thats something only a truly master stylist can accomplish! Simply the best!

I got a great cut from Melissa this morning! She took the time to really look at my hair and talk about what I like/dislike, and then did a wonderful job executing. The shampooing was also pretty fantastic :-) I will definitely be back and will recommend to my friends.

I asked for an ombré and was given regular highlights. The style looks no where close to an ombré with the middle being much lighter than the ends. For such an expensive salon you would expect the stylists to be trained in the latest hair trends!
