Figured I would try my neighborhood shop. Prior to moving to DC I worked on cars, including MR M Car a BMW only shop specializing in maintaining vintage BMWs and the latest track cars. I made an appointment at 10th street almost a week in advance requesting specific work to be done. 4 hrs after the car was dropped off I received a call that thousands of dollars worth of repairs would be needed. Upon pickup of my car an additional fee was accessed for work never requested. I happily paied the bill $156 for an oil change and a scan not requested. I popped the hood found a perfect oil level on the dipstick, reached under the intake manifold to find a loose oil filter. I live a block away and have half a dozen cars in my "family" here in DC and will continue to look for an honest garage in my new hometown.

Was never really confident in the diagnosis I was given by them. Once took it there and another place and got two different stories. I had a reoccurring problem with brake fluid disappearing, and then apparently a radiator leak. They replaced the entire radiator (not a cheap job), and then a few months later needed to make additional repairs linked to the same problem... I wasnt excited. I took my 06 Honda Accord to SportHonda in Silver Spring and they gave me a straighter story and helped me make the wisest decision with what to repair and what wasnt necessary. In addition, SportHonda replaced a bad power steering pump that Honda had apparently recalled on the model at no cost to me, something 10th Street Auto was telling me was something I "should really replace" but never mentioning the recall.

Like everyone else, my car repair experience has run the gamut - "repairs" that had to get redone, dealerships that tried to convince me my car needed thousands of $$$ of repairs and I should just buy a new one, even a Jiffy Lube that put a tire on wrong and nearly caused a catastrophic accident. Even when its inconvenient, I return again and again to 10th St. because they are the best in every respect - what they fix stays fixed, and I (single, non-mechanically-inclined woman) have never been the target of even one attempt to talk me into anything I didnt need or ask them to look at. I have complete confidence and recommend them as highly Id recommend any business anywhere - on top of it all they are so nice and easy to work with!

Ive been taking my car here for the last 10 years and I dont even live in D.C. I just cant get the same great service anywhere else. From oil changes to swapping out alternators to a tune-up, Ive taken my car here for years and these guys will bend over backwards to make sure you walk away a happy customer. Theyll even drive you home or to Union Station if you need a ride, while your car is in the shop. Mark is great at going over what needs to be done and why. Mike is a master mechanic, whose been fixing cars since before I was born and his service is unmatched. Overall, if you like trustworthy and professional mechanics with outstanding customer service, this is your place... 5 stars.

The thing that sets 10th Street Auto Repair apart from other auto repair garages, including the service dept. at the dealership where I bought my car, is the honest service youll get from Mark and his team. If something doesnt need to be done they wont pressure you to have it done just because they can unlike at the dealership where every CEL trouble code translates into $$$$ repairs whether it actually needs to be done or not. The service here has always been courteous and competent. I have always driven away from this repair shop satisfied and highly recommend them.

After being a customer for a couple of years for routine maintenance on our car, Kevin lost a customer when he was incredibly rude and unpleasant to my sister whos car had broken down while visiting from out of town. We suggested getting it towed to 10th street where he refused to look at it, and acted like it was the most insane thing hed ever heard of to get the car towed to his shop despite the fact that we have been customers for several years. We will be finding a new mechanic who can behave professionally.

My car broke down while I was visiting family in DC and they recommended this place to me. The owner was extremely rude, and even though he hardly looked at my car, he insisted that my transmission was ruined and told me that I should just junk my car. I took the car to a transmission specialist and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission. The car is running fine now. I am glad I took it somewhere else.

I am unbelievably pleased with these guys. I took a tire into them to get plugged. They were a bit busy, so I left the tire with them. They said theyd have it done by the end of the day. Less then an hour later, they called me to tell me it was ready! Not only did they find the screw I had already found, they took the time and found another nail in the tire. All in all, cost me $24.67. These guys are great.

I am an extremely happy customer of 10th Street Auto. I felt treated as a valued customer even though I was a first-time "emergency" visitor, and felt that Kevin was completely honest and upfront with me throughout (my fellow ladies know how important this feeling is when dealing with mechanics). I will definitely be back the next time something needs fixin on my ole girl.

I had my car serviced by the guys at 10th Street for the first time this week. They exceeded my expectations. They clearly outlined the schedule theyd keep and stuck to it; their description of the problem and consultation on the solution was helpful. They were pricey, but worth it for the service, in my opinion. Ill keep using them for repairs for sure.

I cant recommend this garage. They over torqued parts on my car when I brought it in for repair and then claimed the work was done properly - essentially not honoring their own warranty. Ive been going back to using my mechanic in VA that my family used while growing up.

I took my car here and had them fix a few things. When I moved out of the area I had problems with their fixes and the mechanic that finally fixed all issues said 10th St. Auto had actually done more harm than good. In addition to this they are overpriced.

Honest, sensible and accommodating vehicle repair shop. Kevin is great. I found them after getting their second opinion on $1500 of bogus repairs another repair shop wanted me to do. While not the cheapest I trust them and their work.

Mark and the rest if the 10th Street Auto Repair guys are honest, trustworthy, polite, and very fair. Since Ive started taking my 10 year old car to them, it runs better than ever. Highly recommended.
