It actually makes me sad to give Logan Hardware less than 5 stars, because they usually provide great customer service. I feel like since theyve moved from their old location on P, though, the service has gone downhill. By way of example, I went in a couple of weeks ago with an unusual lightbulb that I needed to replace. They didnt have any in stock and said theyd have to order one for me (okay, no big deal). However, the sales associate couldnt manage to look it up or tell me how much it would cost. He told me to just leave the lightbulb with my name and phone number and someone would call me once the bulb was ordered. Lo and behold, no one ever called, and now theyve lost the lighbulb and cant even tell me what it was so I can go elsewhere. You can do better, Logan Hardware!

Logan Hardware has the BEST customer service. I live in the neighborhood so I shop there a lot. Today I needed an allen wrench and couldnt find the right size. I had FOUR sales associates working with me for 20 minutes until we solved the problem. All for an $0.85 sale. One of their associates once chased me a block down the street to tell me that even though they didnt have the battery I was looking for hed found a compatible one (and he was right). They carry all kinds of things you wouldnt normally expect a hardware store to carry and Ive learned that if I dont have it around the house, check there first. It is always a pleasure to shop there.

I went here after reading all the reviews here and was expecting decent service based on the comments. I got more than decent service, they were great. The people at the front know exactly where everything in the store is, they were very open to returns if what I wanted didnt fit, and their prices are pretty good too (probably a bit more than some larger corporate stores, but negligible for the service you get) Additionally, they were the only place I could find that carried toilet seat hinges, and not just brand new toilet seats. This after stopping by 5 hardware stores in the city.

Yes, they are polite, well-supplied (overpriced), and convenient, but hardly a neighborhood hardware store in its true sense, where one can get a genuine, knowledgeable advice and help with a home-improvement project. Yes, they can help you find an item in the store, but try going there with a simple request to cut a piece of glass or wood that you are trying to repurpose -- no, cant do -- they will cut it only if you buy that glass or wood from them. I pick Fragers Hardware & Garden Center over this place any day.

Logan Hardware is the best hardware store in DC. They have impeccable customer service. All their staff are wired to talk to each other. As soon as you enter, they offer their assistance. If you are looking for something upstairs, theyll call the rep upstairs and let them know you are on your way up and what you are looking for. I hope and pray a big-box store does not pop up in their market region. I recommend to anyone and everyone to go here if you are looking for something for home, garden, bbq, whatever.

I love this place so very much. If I need something: they have it, and the customer service is unparalleled in DC. Really... I cant think of ANYWHERE in DC (even if its not a hardware store) that is as friendly and helpful as Logan Hardware. This is a place that every other business should aspire to. Logan Hardware is a neighborhood staple. My only criticism is that their new spot (as of their 2014 move) -- while pleasantly larger -- is several blocks further away from home!

always have a good experience at this spot. whoever runs this place is doing a good job of instilling a happy to help attitude in staffers, not the usual dead eyed, resentful, generally oblivious big box store service we all know and hate at home depot. to the folks who say it aint there - talk to drew. he can usually order what you need and ive had good luck doing that. bonus points for being open til 8 and having kickass soul music when youre on hold. just sayin

Fantastic hardware store with really friendly and helpful staff! They are always eager to help and know a lot about what they stock. They are priced for their location though, meaning that you are going to pay a good bit more for everything than you would at Home Depot or Lowes, but the convenience of the location is the trade off.

The people working here are incredibly kind, helpful, and sympathetic. Ive had major problems in my apartment since moving in and have spent every weekend here - theyve taught me how to caulk, how to get rid of bugs, how to paint, and on and on. Id trust them on anything. Neighborhood-y and very knowledgeable.

We got very bad service at the check out. I was with a friend and with my toddler. We left without buying at the end. Great service with the team helping inside, extremely impolite at the check out. Wont return again despite is at the corner of my house. Maybe all because I had an accent?

This place has pretty much everything--not just the simple stuff for fix-its, but even the oddball parts and items necessary for more substantial repairs. The staff has always been helpful and it is great to have a local place to get everything a tinkerer needs for around the house.

A great neighborhood store; a local institution, practically. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff who will help you find anything. And they pretty much have everything in the realm of hardware, which is important in an area with a lot of old homes and unusual hardware in them.

I walked in to buy some spray paint that had to match some parts,a few odds and ends that were uncommon, and some special drill bits. They had everything I needed, an associate helped me get in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes. Very good service, I will come back.

You cant beat the location, especially in light of the large inventory. The staff is very helpful (John spent a good 10 minutes helping us dig up a specific item). If you need anything remotely hardware-related, just drop on by and odds are they can help you out.

This place has what you need, and the plentiful staff knows how to help you find it and how to use it. Fair prices, good service, convenient location. Everything you could possibly want in a neighborhood hardware store.

Very helpful staff and a dog friendly store. Staff assisted me in selecting plumbing supplies to fix an issue with piping I was running into. They even have me some spare pipe as I only needed about an inch of PVC

Our neighborhood hardware has the best service of any store period. The staff, who are plentiful, are always enthusiastically helpful and you never have to track them down; they come to you. Consistently excellent.

The staff here ROCK. Super-friendly and helpful. Much pricier than buying from Amazon or Bed, Bath and Beyond, but worth it for when you need customer service. Sign up for rewards and youll get $5 off coupons.

Great great business - friendly and VERY helpful staff who are also not overly intrusive. They have a great selection/wide array of items - Ive never been unable to find something I need here.
