Unfortunately, Petworth Cleaners provides consistently poor service and makes no apologies for it. Today 09-17-16 I visited the cleaners to pick-up three white dress shirts. The first had a small stain on the front. I picked at it with my fingernail to try and get it off. I got about 75% off and decided to continue at home. The staff just stood and watched me. However, as soon as I got out of the store and flipped the shirts I saw a large stain covering the top left quarter of the shirt on the back and part of the shirt in the middle of the package. Its remarkable the staff would handover such clearly stained items. A brown oily substance was all over the shirts and the packaging. On the shirts it appeared to be burned-in or dried. The staff offered zero apologies. Its the lack of any acknowledgement of the highly shotty work that means I cannot continue to use Petworth Cleaners. This was not the first such instance. Its the last for me, though. Contact me if youd like to see a picture of the shirts.

Ordinarily, I choose to believe the general consensus online about a business. Therefore, when I saw Petworth Cleaners 1.6-star average (1/27/17), I knew that I probably shouldnt trust them. However, because I needed to get my slacks dry cleaned relatively quick, I decided to take a risk. It was a tremendous mistake. Waking up at 6:30 a.m. to arrive at Petworth Cleaners before work, I discovered that they had lost all 7 pairs of my slacks (the pants were already a day late). When I came back later that evening, the pants were fortunately recovered, and I was asked to pay full price. Similar to others, the owner refused to acknowledge my issue or even utter an apology. After paying full price for my late/lost/rediscovered slacks, I left the store and heard the owner chasing after me. For a split second, I thought, "maybe she is going to offer a reimbursement." She asked me to sign the receipt. Suffice to say, steer clear of Petworth Cleaners.

3 strikes and you are out... I have tried to give this place a chance being that I live directly across the street and as usual a huge fail....I paid $30 for a pair of paints to have a zipper and button replaced along with dry cleaning. Picked them up and there is no button or zipper on the pants at all... I had 2 suits altered prior and paid $240 a piece for the suits and when I picked those up they still had pins in them and the stitching was coming apart. Basically the suit was not completed... I am furious and NEVER NEVER AGAIN will I be back. Not to mention the language barrier is a bit frustrating as well .... I am only giving it one star because I have to

I dropped off a comforter to be cleaned, was told it would be ready in a week. Came in a week and a half later, no comforter. Waited another week, finally it was done. Asked for a discount and the owner acted like she didnt understand what I was saying. She also input my phone number incorrectly into the system and insisted I must have changed my number (by one digit?!) and that she put it correctly before. Totally bizarre customer service, late delivery, no compensation for the delay. Never going here again even though it is across the street from me.

My boyfriend and I have gotten great service at relatively low prices at Petworth Cleaners since 2010. Dry cleaning consistently comes back earlier than I expect. Staff is very friendly. We did end up with two accounts under the same phone number, but when the mistake was discovered, staff promptly deleted the extraneous account. They also do repairs at a reasonable price.

I took in some pants for alterations and they ruined them after charging 100 dollar alteration fee. They refused to fix them when I showed them how poorly they fit. I have also gotten damaged shirts from dry cleaning here. Stay away!
