I dont usually post reviews, but I really think people need to know about this. I asked for a subtle and natural-looking balayage (after my hairdresser at Voila had encouraged me to do it several times). Worried that I wasnt clear enough, I said to my hairdresser, "Please, just dont make me blonde. As subtle as possible." I walked out with half platinum blonde and half my natural brown color. When they revealed my hair, I was a little in shock and decided to go home and ask my friend. Once I got home I learned that I had a total line in the back of my head that wasnt blended at all, on top of the color situation! I called back immediately to get an appointment that worked with my schedule (they werent surprised at all that I was calling), but they made no accommodations and forced me to come back during my workday. When I walked in the next day, my hairdresser exclaimed "Hey, blondie!" I honestly wasnt sure if she had totally forgotten that I had asked her to please not make me blonde or if she was mocking me. Their team then very grumpily began to attempt fixing it, but repeatedly worked on other customers and left me to sit by myself. When I finally reminded them that I was taking vacation time out of my workday, they again very grumpily returned to my hair and hastily threw some toners in. I asked for a refund at the end of the session and was rudely offered cash from the owners wallet for 1/3 of what I paid. I eventually got the full amount, but he literally stormed off and left me mid-sentence. I entered Voila with healthy hair that had never been dyed and the end result is a frizzy, bleached head of hair. Ive taken it to other places to correct, and everyone explains how much damage was done. I totally trusted them and honestly had pretty low expectations, I just didnt want anything crazy. Sharing this because I dont want anyone to have the same trouble if they are considering getting their hair colored here.

I never write reviews (negative or positive) about haircuts Ive gotten, but this is by far the best hair cut Ive ever gotten. I was getting a pixie cut which was a pretty drastic change for me, so I was very nervous. I had an appointment with Ever, who was very careful to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted and talked me through every step of the process. It came out even better than I imagined. I also love the tiered pricing system, and how even at the highest tier its still affordable for a college student like myself. Highly recommend!

Nestor has done my mothers hair for many, many years. I started getting my hair done there in my early 20s. I have experimented at other salons, but nothing can match the work that Nestor does for me. Given the area and the service, the prices are higher than an average salon, however I will continue to pay for these services because I am so happy with the end results. Highly recommended.

We were in Washington DC for a wedding in June, and I needed an updo for the night. The hotel concierge referred me to Voila. Nestor took his time with me, and my hair looked very nice for the evening (and stayed in place!). The salon is not super-fancy, but is clean, intimate, and friendly. Also the pricing is reasonable--a good value all in all.

Customers beware. I’m finally recovering from a disastrous cut/color by Nestor two years ago. Asked for a long bob (Jennifer Aniston), left with a mullet (Billy Ray Cyrus). Asked for golden brown, left with hideous red/brown that completely clashed with my complexion. Two years is way too long to feel self-conscious about one’s hair.

I was walking to a doctors appt one day and happened to pass by Voila hair salon. I was super early so I decided to get a hair cut. Ernesto was very flexible and was able to fit me into his busy schedule! All the staff were friendly as well. Very reasonably priced. I definitely recommend .. will be visiting again soon!!

I really love Voila. I always get my hair cut here, and out of ten haircuts, theyve made it perfect every single time. My hair is difficult -- textured, very short, and made of cowlicks. But they always do an amazing job. Highly recommended!
