Absolutely one of the worst companies Ive ever encountered. Hes a very nice guy until a problem arises, at which point his raging temper surfaces. Instructions for changing the key for a vacant office in Sarasota were Emailed to Steve Butler. He failed to follow the instructions and demanded money anyway. When we insisted that we need the job completed properly prior to payment (which simply included making another key and leaving the old keys in the vacant suite), he claimed that he had never received our Email. Ironically he had already replied to the same Email he denied receiving. Instead of working with us to correct his error, he threatened that he was heading to the property to "reverse" the work he did. We tried to discuss this rationally but he hung up on us twice and refused to communicate by phone or text. He was belligerent and just downright nasty and uncooperative. We learned the next day that the keys he made were gone, and that half of a key was shoved into our lock rendering it useless. Our lockbox that held the keys was also jammed and the combination was changed. This all happened within hours of our conversation with him. This guy and his so-called company are the worst Ive ever encountered. We believe he intentionally damaged our locks out of spite, even though he was the one who was too careless to follow our simple, written instructions. THIS GUY IS BAD NEWS.

I recently had a roommate move out. Due to problems in the past, I wanted to have my house re-keyed. Not being much of a handyman, I naturally went to Google to find the best company that Bradenton had to offer. After reading through reviews from several companies I decided to go with Florida lock and key. I am not normally a guy to write reviews, but I felt that it would only be right by me to express the gratification that I felt by making this decision. The owner was the one that actually answered the phone and performed the work. He was extremely polite, friendly, and punctual. Being a homeowner, and someone that works a lot, it is very important that I can trust anyone who is coming to work on my house to be ON TIME. Steve (if I remember correctly) was actually a few minutes early, and literally knocked out 4 doors in 45 minutes. I must say that I was quite impressed, and would recommend him to anyone. I hope that writing this review will help anyone that is looking for quality and professional work.

These guys rock! Locked my keys in my work van on Longboat Key recently and called them up..thank God my phone wasnt in there or I wouldve been totally screwed. Called them up, they were very courteous and understanding and told me theyll be there in 30 min. And they were right on time. They were friendly and professional and got right to business on my van. The first try didnt work so they went to plan B and got in the van in about 5 min. They know theyre stuff. Had nice new equipment and everything they needed to do the job and had a great attitude. Which really helped a stressful cituation for me. I really needed to get to my next appt and they got me on my way fast. Great company..Great people. Im tellin everyone I know to use them. Very very satisfied with theyre excellent service.

I want to think Florida lock and key for saving us last night my husband and I went to dinner and then took a long walk on the beach and some how misplaced our keys we called several locksmith companies and nobody would answer their phones, finally Florida lock and key answered their phone at 2 oclock in the morning and came to our rescue and let us in to our car, Thank God we had a spare key in the glove compartment, But I want to thank Florida lock and key for the quick response early this morning and their professionalism and the price was very fair for being 2 oclock in the morning Thanks a lot Florida lock and key.

I had a serious need to have my home re-keyed - it was an emergency! I called FLORIDA LOCK & KEY. Mr. Butler stopped what he was doing and came immediately to my home, where he not only replaced all my locks, but also made some other suggestions to secure my home which I agreed for him to implement. Mr. Butler was more than prompt and in a short time (and a for very agreeable price) he completely went through my home to be sure I was safe and secure. Thanks to Steve Butler, I am able to feel safe and secure and I can leave my home in confidence. FLORIDA LOCK & KEY is the only locksmith for me!!

These guys keep coming onto properties, and sticking their advertising stickers on door locks of companies they have never serviced--isnt this illegal? The owner response is bogus--their phone number is on the stickers!! Since I posted a photo proving the stickers exist, the owner deleted his denial of making stickers, and has instead drafted a new bogus response designed to overshadow my feedback. I am not a competitor, and was fully authorized to remove those 3 stickers; one from my own business, who has and will NEVER use your service. Your dishonesty online speaks volumes.

Over charged for services and parts ($85 part for $225) they did not fix the door properly when we asked them to come back and fix it they came out but refused to repair the lock properly the second time. Stating that it was bent and they could do nothing. We called another service to come out and they said the lock was improperly installed and the cylinder was not secured to the door. Meaning any key could open our front door. Thank you American Lock and Key for providing us the out standing service we should have recieved by Florida Lock and Key!!

Thank God for Florida Lock & Key !!!!!! I was leaving my four month old sons daycare in a hurry at 3:00 pm, the hottest time of day when I locked my baby & my keys in the car, thankfully I had my phone in my back pocket, I frantically googled locksmith & found Florida Lock & Key, the owner Steve pulled up literally 8 to 10 minutes after I called, he had my car open within 40 seconds, I was incredibly impressed & he was so polite I couldnt believe it how cheap his prices were, I will definitely recommend Florida Lock & Key to all my friends.

I was stranded out on the beach last night at 4 a.m. I called several locksmith companies nobody was open and finally got ahold of Florida Lock & Key they were out to my car within 30 minutes and had my car opened within 10 minutes I expected to pay a lot more money than what I did for the service he gave me a really good deal and I really appreciate that but I just wanted to thank Steve for the good work I would highly recommend Florida lock and key in the future to all my friends

i was just getting in town from new york got my car from the parking garage from the airport i put my baby in the back seat straped down and my luggage in my trunk i went to shut the door and my baby got locked in the car i called florida lock and key steve butler answered the phone he said he could be there in 10 minutes he arrived and succesfully unlocked my mercedes within 5 minutes he saved my babys life and i cant thank florida lock and key enough i would highly recomend them
